Allowances should be made for those with dementia who have their moments away with the fairies.

Pattaya to get huge new beachside development
champers replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Pattaya News
There was no old or quaint stuff where this development is going to be. The land was primarily used as a car and tourist bus parking lot. There were some restaurants at the Beach Rd and 2nd Rd entrances/exits along with a few market stalls for beachwear. Pattaya as a tourist destination is less than 60 years old so there isn't any cultural heritage here to destroy. The only ancient relics from a bygone era are the mamasans in the beerbars. -

This is a development driven by AWS, Chang's property arm and run by the daughter of Chang's top man. They have owned the land for donkey's years and have an awful lot more on 2nd Road awaiting development. They are not some dumb, opportunitstic scam artists out to defraud multiple private investors/mug punters. They have raised their own capital from major financial institutions in Bangkok. This, and other developments, was planned well before Covid reared its ugly head. I agree that for Convention hall read "gaming floor". The first of many, I would say. -
Tree fellers came to chop down the forest near me but the boss said they only needed two so one went home.

That will be all the parliamentarians, generals and hisos now on jab number 4. Medical staff? Don't be silly. Top boss man only. -
Seen a few German tourists in Naklua on the Baht bus to Beach Road. They seem very reluctant to wear face masks.

Workmen in place at the emptied and short-lived Witherspoons site on Beach Road. What it will become is anyone's guess, though an English style sports pub would not top my list of possibilities.

I was expecting to see Frank's own account rather than just an edited summary. Has webfact forgotten to include a link?

You presume too much. All that will have been decided on already, IMO. -

I think the Sportsman and Robin Hood will be doing Christmas dinners.

Fair enough, what exactly do you have against Robins? I think Zidane would be a mistake and a costly one at that. Conte would have been ideal but dithering saw him go to Spurs instead.

The story was on BBC World News and included an interview with a Viet lady living in Thailand who was delighted that she could at last go home. Other than that I don't know how you, personally, would get to Vietnam from Thailand. I have no immediate plans to go there so won't be looking it up.

They could do a lot worse than Mark Robins who has done a superb job at Coventry. He has had more success and experience as a manger than Ole ever had. Will probably end up with a foreign "name" who will spend millions to little effect. Uniteds form has got progressively worse since Ronaldo signed. Something seriously not right there.

Vietnam opened for business to tourists yesterday. I think this is giving Thailand's leadership a hurry up along with pressure from big business interests here.

No mobile food sellers .... yet. -
From Nick Dean's ndvi stream last night it seems that the big breweries are the ones applying pressure to the Government. Chang, in particular, have a lot of plans on hold for building new developments in Pattaya, Bangkok and elsewhere. This is through their property division. They have raised funding and need tourists back to start realising plans and getting returns for investors. I don't know how much sway they have but we will likely find out before too long; a matter of days.

For County fans and neutrals. Bolton fans going into meltdown on social media. We have done our share of giant killing in the past, so can't moan too much.
