  1. Untill 1985, I was spending each day 2 hours in the gym after work. And a few times a week in the Sauna. I had also many physical activities like Yoga. I was very proud of my figure. But end 1985 I suffered a stroke which left me disabled for a half year and partly disabled afterwards. I was forbidden by the doctor to do any physical activity. In a year time, i had a belly and could not do anything anymore. NOT EVERYONE IS FAT OR HAS A BIG BELLY B3CAUSE THEY DON'T GO TO THE GYM. I really hope that you get a stroke soon and go trough the same demise as many people. Maybe you will learn to show respect for disabled people that way.
  2. The problem with the latest windows 11 update is that every time windows detects that you have been changing applications that are not allowed to be removed, Windows puts them back.
  3. I am also 69, 1 month away from 70. After spending almost 19 years under the ground, digging the black gold, it's not rocket science to know why most coalminers close the lights before reaching 60. I try to live these years as healthy as possible. But if I can enjoy a good cake with lot's of cream or a juicy hamburger, should I refuse that because it would upgrade my sugar levels?
  4. Strange. I fail to understand why some people feel the urge to respond to threads with utterly crap. If you Google about Chrome you will see that A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUES WITH CHROME. Why you don't go join these people and spew your crap there?
  5. I was planning to do the opposite. Run Linux on my hard drive and use a pen-drive version of windows for exceptional things,
  6. Since the last upgrade of Windows 11, I gave up and look for someting else. Windows is forcing the EDGE, Photos, and other software trought my throat and the is no way to disable the them or chose for a different program. Every time I want to open a picture, a movie, or a website with a different program, Windows ask me if I am sure of my choice and rethink about using their crappy program with lots of advertissements. Not only Windows, but many big software companies are going the same road. Chrome has now occupied almost my full hard disk storing all kind of crapware to trace my habits and publish their crap. Google is going the same way and I only use their email because I have the same email address a long time. I want to opt for another operating system which is user friendly and don't force their crapware down my throat. Linux of Android? What are my choices?
  7. A friend of mine, living a few kilometers away from my place, was diagnosed with final CANCER. He had a big open tumor on his throat, which have been removed recently. But after testing in the lab, it was detected as a final cancer and only a few months to live. He is 2 years older as me and always working in his garden. Last year, I went to the funeral of many of my friends/buddy. Some of them a lot younger as me. Most of them died of CANCER or a disease. They were good raking care of their health and doing many activities. In the days I was working, I was the head of a team of 65 people. Most of them a lot younger as me. The last one died 4 years ago because his body was rejecting the new lungs. Many of them had a healthy lifestyle and were watching their health. Yesterday, at the usual bar, there was a guy dancing and having fun. He was drinking beer and some spirits and smoking a cigar. His age? 82 years. Ever since I was diagnosed with a Cardiac anomaly and the usual old man's diseases, I try as much as possible to control my health Taking medicine, avoiding food and drinks which are unhealthy for me, trying to do some exercise, etc. I am ok for my age, although I can not do what this 82 year old man was doing. Sometimes I ask myself, is it all worth the hassle? After reaching 65 years of age living like a hermit? Only to live a few months or years more? Would I not be better off to enjoy my old age and enjoy what life is worth enjoying? I read the joke about a man going to the doctor, and the doctor asked him: - do you smoke? NO - do you drink alcohol? NO - do you go out with other woman every day? No - do you pratize dangerous sports NO Then why do you want to live a long life if you don't enjoy it? What are your thoughts about this?
  8. I did read in Google about the side-effects of this drug and I came already to the conclusion that it was a "NO WAY" supplement for me. Thanks for the head up Sheryll.
  9. Can I buy "Kalimate" at the pharmacy. I don't have leg cramp at night, but when I get up and I don't take care (stretching myself) I scream from the cramps in the back of my lower legs.
  10. I do a complete blood test every 3 months and I follow strictly what my doctor advices me That's the best choice to keep healthy.
  11. Lasix was forbidden by my doctor after I was hospitalized urgently with a bladder stone attack.
  12. Maybe I can try to visit Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi in 1 trip. Although Saigon would be nice to spend a few days. Saigon was the place where most of the war happened.
  13. Mine too, after my legs looked like an elephant leg.
  14. I want to see (and take pictures) as much as possible from remains of the war in my years. I had also planned a trip to Nagasaki/Hiroshima, but I don't know if I will make it.
  15. I will turn 70 this year and would like to do a trip to visit Vietnam. - I am not a "nightlife" tourist and I don't fancy the "barlife". - Top of the list are place like Ho-Chi-Minh and other places with rich cultural background. - I can not do long walks or mount any high hills so I would need a place where transport is not difficult. - Trip would be between 7 and 14 days. Suggestions welcomed: - Good hotels/gueshouses and prices. - Financial tips (ATM available, what to take care off). - What to avoid at all costs. TIA
  16. As far as I understood my Neprologist, he told me to avoid "yellow fruits/vegetables (banana, pumpkin, avocado, etc.)" and eat more green fruits/vegetables (cabbage, salad, etc.). What fruit/vegetable diet do you suggest for someone with high Potassium?
  17. I suffered a nearly fatal stroke in 1995 due to my left kidney and my hypertension and I can assure you that I don't want to be in the same boat again at 70 years
  18. Sorry, forgot. The nephrolog did not like to prescribe that medication too, but he had no choice because my BP was still too high I took that already with a grain of salt. IYKWiM The bananas were on sale and I wanted to eat banana milk shakes. My err He is a nephrolog and the best doctor I meet in Thailand
  19. I suspect that eating bananas is the culprit. I ate the last 4 days 3 bananas a day. And last month I ate 5 kgs of Avocados (bought at a sale-out). What do you mean with Sodium? Salt?
  20. One of the best doctor I had in my life. He told me about 1 year ago that he stop prescribing me medication for Diabetes. Even Sheryll suggested to go visit a doctor at Bangkok Hospital. I needed to control my Daibetes with my food and drink intake. My Sugar level is now on average 110.
  21. I am nearly 70 years old, on Pacemaker, had recently a dedoubling of my aorta (Aneurysm), suffer Kidney Failure stage 3.5, suffer from HT. Cesoline W 25mg 2 tablets/4 times per day Azilsartan 40 mg 1/2 tablet in morning Lercadip 20mg 1 tablet in the morning Doxazosin 2 mg 2 tablets each morning/night Atorvastatin 40mg 1/2tablet at night Maforan (Warfarin) 5mg 2 tablets at night Not prescribed: 101 Vitamins and Minerals 1 tablet per day
  22. Yesterday, at the monthly check-up, the Potassium levels were too high. The doctor advice me to adapt my diet and eat more "white" vegetables such as cabbage. Avoid the "yellow" vegetables and fruits. My Potassium level was 5.1, and in August 4.6. Any tips how to bring Potassium levels back to "normal"? As I can see, the Potassium levels are very fluctuating, just like sugar levels.
