The GR front / rear Toyota dashcam is all wired in, nothing to plug in. It can be operated via wifi from your phone to take videos or download dashcam footage. If you can't twist the dealers arm to get it free, it costs 6000 baht. Well worth it for the expert fitting, quality and standard 3 year guarantee on all Toyota accessories.

Nope, it has one USB port at the bottom right-hand side of the infotainment system and your phone has to be plugged in to get the best from android auto or apple car play. The camera system on the Cross is excellent. if you want to quickly put the front camera on for parking, just stick the indicator on! Also, the side mirrors will automatically tilt down when reversing to help see the kerbside etc. These can be adjusted or turned off easily. Performance wise, the Cross GR Sport is quicker than the HRV RS and is far superior in ride and handling according to a friend who got the HRV and now regrets it after having a go in mine! Lol. After running mine in sensibly for 1500 km I took it for a good run from Roi-Et to Khon Kaen, it's a good road and not busy at the weekends. Used the power mode for overtaking and cruised comfortably at 120 kmph . The radar cruise control works faultlessly but not good with the lane assist function so that got turned off! Covered 250km overall, mostly highway driving at speed and returned 21.6 kmpl ... Not bad. I drove my friends HRV for a few days when he went back home and IMHO, the extra baht for the GR Sport is well worth it .... He agrees!

I've had mine for about 6 weeks now. Well impressed with the performance, economy and general 'feel' of the car. I got 36k baht worth of extras free. If you're a technophobe, don't buy this car because the dash is so customizable it's like a cockpit but there again, most top of the range motors are the same. Not deal breakers but: No vanity lights in the footwells. Official Toyota cargo net supplied needs holes drilling in the side! (I politely turned the option down) Needs a usb port below the infotainment system. (USA version has one) I got a 12v port flush fit fast charge usb adapter (lazada) to fit under the armrest. Horn sounds like it came off a Scoopy scooter! (Now got Toyota premium twin horn fitted) A must is to fit mud flaps as the slightest damp conditions causes spray to cover the rear tailgate making it so dirty. (Lazada) Also, order a manual from the dealership in English, should be supplied free. Sometimes I couldn't get the hatch to open using the kick sensor, eventually I discovered it won't work if the drivers door is open! My bad and I'm still getting to grips with the infotainment system! (manual supplied in English)

I've recently insured my new vehicle with Roojai. They sent me all the documents online in pdf format ready to download, nothing is sent by snail mail unless requested. Using their phone App, all policy details are on there including coverage details and are available to download. Contact phone numbers for roadside assistance, claims and renewals etc. are on it with an easy to use interface. Everything is in English and the initial set-up was all confirmed by phone with a representative who spoke fluent English. Very competitive price with a surprise 3000 baht of PT fuel coupons amongst other participating companies awaiting on the App!

But how many thousands of registered EV's are sitting in a field somewhere in China with no mileage on just to get the sales incentives from the Chinese Gov.? I'm not saying it amounts to 100's of thousands ...............or does it?

Got to admit, I'm noticing a lot more here 'in the boonies'. Another interesting alternative read: Why electric cars are NOT green machines: The environmental benefit of EVs may never be felt (msn.com)

I suppose I'm sitting on the fence by buying a hybrid recently. Worth a read for a different perspective from the EV preachers. Rowan Atkinson says: Electric car owners despair over battery problems and lack of chargers | This is Money

Tip from a landscape gardener I knew when I was in the UK: Sprinkle biological washing powder over the affected area (don't water it in) Let it do its magic for a couple of days (longer the better) Hose or lightly pressure wash off. Tried and successfully tested on my paved driveway!

Highly recommend the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid GR Sport. I recently purchased one (3 week wait). I've had it 4 weeks now, well impressed. 1.26 Mil. I got 36,000 baht worth of extras thrown in of all Toyota accessories including front and rear dashcams. Excellent fuel economy along with a punchy engine and a good looking vehicle in my opinion.

Just a thought: My missus has an old Ford Fiesta and at the time and I had an old Suzuki Swift. Both cars were in water (on the drive) up to the door sills but luckily did not flood inside so came out unscathed. Are EV's more likely to suffer flood damage over a comparable ICE vehicle?

Well ........ I understood the Op perfectly well with what he is asking! Ignore the inquisition petal. Just turn left at the first set of traffic lights, go over the hill and take the second left at 'Betty's Beauty Parlour'. Go a little further down the hill, Do a U-turn at the no entry sign and you'll see why there is a delay. Easy to understand, I don't know what the fuss is all about. ????

BYD Atto 3 Review 2023 | Top Gear Says it all really. It won't be long before the eco-warriors arrive, followed by the 'greenies' to tell you 'This is the Way'. Personally, I don't think Thailand is ready for the electric full monty yet, although it won't be too long! The Toyota Cross Hybrid is a great car, good on fuel, has a tight turning circle and classic looks. It's more expensive than the Honda HRV and I.M.O. a far better motor. Got to admit, I'm seeing more and more EV's on the road lately, even up here in the boonies queueing up at MG and Robinsons to charge up! ????

Loads of hacks on the internet, it doesn't have to be for a specific model. This one seems popular: Read first! 1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive. 2. Wait for the "No Disc" message to appear. 3. Press Pause on the Remote. 4. Enter 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 on the Remote (the word COdE or FF appears on the display). 5. Enter 0 on the Remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.). 6. Press Pause on the Remote. 7. Power the player off, wait 30 seconds and then power back on. NB: If the above code fails to work then once the player has displayed the "No disc" message press Stop before entering the above code.

My oh my ..... I see a little sarcasm and dry wit goes way over your head. I'm single and intend to stay that way for the foreseeable future but I do live in Isaan and often see these sad guys in tow with a couple of laden trollies at the checkout. As they say: No money no honey ........... Or should it be no trolley no dolly?
-
You gotta go dude! If you don't go you'll miss out on the family trip to BigC where everyone has a trolley to their own except you and they'll all split up going different ways only to meet up again at the secret rendezvous location ..... The checkout. This is where you will be overcome with joy looking at their faces when the bill is presented to you. Definitely a few leg over points to be won on that outing. Then there is the trip to Makro .........................................................

How to get a Yellow House Book ?
Madgee replied to bondjames007's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm expecting the wrath of many about this: Yes, you can own the property but not the land it's built on. It's a complicated procedure so I'm informed. An acquaintance of mine successfully done this when his wife died who legally owned the house. The land was put in the name of her son and the house in his. Once you've had your 'facial recognition' photo done at your branch then you're set to go! I have my daily transfer limit set to 50k. As an experiment, I've just (successfully) changed it to 2m by using the facial recognition system now in force. Bangkok Bank mobile banking. Immediately returned it to 50k, facial recognition not required when lowering the daily transfer amount. Easy Peasey.

16 months later! Did anyone actually order the Cross? If so, what are your impressions?
