The ever increasing fuel prices are going to have a knock on effect on what we pay for many things. You can blame Putin for that... And anyway, is 57 baht really that expensive? Think about it, for that modest amount of money your beer has been brewed, bottled, packaged and transported through out the country. Not forgetting lining the tax man's pockets.

Clearly you must be are unaware of what is actually unfolding in the Ukraine. Humanitarian laws are being broken pretty much every hour by Putin's Russian's forces. Innocent people are dying in their thousands because of one man's ego trip. This local spat as you call it is one of the most sickening news stories that I have ever witnessed and the world can't just sit back and ignore it. Well maybe apart from Thailand who likes to live in its own bubble...

Do they come with a puncture repair kit?
-
In fairness this is more of a problem for the local ministry of transport than it is for the police. Although the police could have got off their backsides and put some sort of warning at the offending area. But then again, if nobody had accidents the police wouldn't make any money from people having to pay their fines....

Why do so many expats fall off their balconies in Thailand?
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is precisely the reason why we built our bungalow without a balcony... -
Good news we are at the top of covid infections!
Dmaxdan replied to Don Chance's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
I'm I the only one who is beyond caring what the daily reported infection figures are? Everyone who wants to be is vaccinated is so and we are all accustomed to the new normal way of life. We have a choice as to how cautious we wish to live our lives. The only number that is relevant now is the number of related deaths. -

Two students dead in horror smash in Surin - monk was driving
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Perhaps yet another case of not adapting to the driving conditions? Roads don't seem to be built with a camber here so standing water is a very common problem after heavy rain. R.I.P to the two youngsters who died. -
I downloaded the app from the Google play store when it was first available in Thailand which was June last year. Since then the app has undergone numerous updates and now works fine. There were clearly teething problems when Disney plus was first launched here last year.

Just as well that most of us don't have such a cowardly outlook otherwise the human race would be doomed.

Loss of face taken to the max! -
If this were true then this forum would inundated with news stories everyday about foreigners being arrested and deported by immigration for doing everyday menial tasks around their homes. Those BMW smart cars would be out and about 24/7 trying to round up all the rule breakers. Which reminds me, I must change that leaking tap tomorrow morning...

I'm too afraid to stop my car at Zebra crossings
Dmaxdan replied to davidst01's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Surely this is about evaluating each and every situation individually. For the most part, the human brain is pretty good at that... If a pedestrian is already walking on the crossing then you have to stop, or you risk running them over. If someone then rear ends you then so be it. Just remember that by stopping you have probably saved the pedestrian's life! If a pedestrian is standing and waiting at a crossing as you approach and you are being tailgated by another vehicle then it is advisable to proceed but with extreme caution. If a pedestrian is standing and waiting at a crossing and there is no one behind you then you can consider stopping. It is then up to the pedestrian to check if other vehicles are stopping. Remember that they have an obligation for their own safety as well as you do. The bottom line is that when driving here in Thailand you have to be aware what is going on around you at all times and check your mirrors regularly!
