  1. I doubt the police have any time to read internet forums. They are too busy clearing up after all of the endless accidents.
  2. He must have been wearing his lucky amulet...!!! Maybe they should start hanging an amulet around every power pole that is near a road in Thailand. That way the drivers might start missing them.
  3. Just the tip of the iceberg. There will be many more out there doing exactly the same thing. He should be banned from commercial driving for life. But the reality is that after paying a small fine he will be back driving next week his van next week.
  4. I knew someone who rather foolishly withdrew some money from his bank account during his under consideration period and was called in early by immigration and told that his marrage extension had been refused because his account balance had dropped below 400k. A few years ago I had a slightly unnerving experience renewing my marriage extension at CM. The female officer was clearly trying to find a problem with my paperwork and was not going to be content and until she did. First of all, she told us we needed to have the official certificate showing that my wife had changed her surname to mine! To her clear annoyance, I had the certificate with me in my folder. I always take it with me just in case although we have never been asked for it before that day or since for that matter. Then, on reading the Kor Ror 2, she noticed that my wife had been married before. So turned to my wife and said she needed a copy of her divorce certificate, which we didn't have. By now I was beginning to smell something fishy... Anyway, she made us return the following day (about a two hour round trip) with a copy of the divorce certificate before she would give me the under consideration stamp.
  5. I also live just outside Sanpatong and 16C is positively balmy compared to some of the cool season morning temps we have had to endure in previous years. Below 10C first thing in the morning with low lying fog was quite common when I first moved here 12 years ago.
  6. This needed to change years ago. Most of the important information they have on us is all held on computer and doesn't change from year to year. The only photocopies you should have to submit evey year are for your financial requirements.
  7. And there was me thinking he would be up for promotion.... Personally, I'd give him a job directing traffic in the middle of Thailand's most dangerous highway..
  8. Just so you know, you can buy ceiling fans that come with a remote control so you don't need to worry about switches. https://www.homepro.co.th/p/1035791
  9. When the pandemic first started Thailand's fear of the virus served them well. Fast forward to today and that fear still abounds and is greatly holding the country back from trying to return to a semi normal life style. They somehow seem to be clinging to the hope that attaining zero daily infections is still a very realistic target. If they don't see the light soon it will be too late and the damage their actions and regulations are causing on the economy will be beyond repair. The put it in layman's terms, they have completely lost the plot.
  10. I bought a can of this a week or so ago and wasn't impressed. I do like to try new things, variety is the spice of life and all that, but beer Chang Espresso was a step to far. For me, the coffee taste completely over powered the beer so much so that it was like drinking alcohol coffee! Not for me but I'm sure others will like it....
  11. Only ever approach a monk if they are not waving their alms about....
  12. I've no idea how this guy can look at himself in the mirror every morning.
  13. The sad reality is the pandemic has made many people bankrupt. Some of these will inevitably turn to crime just to make ends meet. I'm not condoning this, it's just the way things are. Everyone needs to know this and keep their guard up at all times.
  14. For me, blue registration book kept safely at home with a copy on my phone. Original Insurance documents I keep in my the car, with the sticker provided in the window. It is my opinion that it is best to have them with you just in case.... Remember that if your car was to be stolen then your insurance company still has all your details on computer.
  15. You can keep highlighting the perils of driving in Thailand to your hearts content but at the end of the day actions speak louder than words. And that is were this government falls flat, they are just too afraid of upsetting the applecart.
  16. Trying to return to a near normal life verses spending the rest of it living in fear.... Decisions, decisions.... The only things these polls achieve is to spread more anxiety amongst the masses.
  17. Where to? The airport? Bang Kwang prison? A small, uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific?
  18. It's difficult to see where his shirt finishes and his tattoos begin...
  19. This reminds me of Oliver Twist. "Please Sir, can I have some more" "More!! More!!!!!!" They are lucky they weren't served gruel.
