  1. What about car drivers? Can they continue to break the laws when ever they choose?
  2. Lived here 12 years now. Originally moved here to build a new life with my wife and to get away from the rat race back in my native UK. Regrets? I've had a few, but then again too few to mention...
  3. They always need to be in "pole" position...
  4. Everything that connects to the internet "spy's" on you. Google probably knows more about you than you do yourself. You either except it or go back to living in the dark ages.
  5. If Thailand really wants to open up and try and move on from the pandemic then locking up asymptomatic cases in Covid prisons has to stop now. It is just persecuting people for catching a highly transmittable virus and clearly shows that the government has zero trust in it's own people to self isolate if infected. Field hospitals should only be used when the regular hospitals run out of beds and for patients who require actual treatment.
  6. It was a blind date, no really! I have a long term Thai friend who has lived in England for 30 plus years and she was always determined to fix me up with a suitable Thai lady. So she did some calling around her family and friends, found a good candidate and arranged the meeting, unbeknown to me whilst I was on holiday in Chiang Mai. That was 2005 and my blind date and I have been happily together ever since with our 12th wedding anniversary fast approaching. I have no memory of what our first words were, 'hello, how are you" probably. It was quite a surreal day...
  7. Yes, the roads are poorly designed and maintained but in many cases, the riders are not willing or capable of adapting to the conditions. Speed, speed and more speed is the only way they know.
  8. Modern smart TVs are actually pretty user friendly. Once you plug it in and turn it on for the first time it will offer you a choice of languages which once you have selected one which you can a read it will guide you through the setup process without any real dramas. Entering your WiFi password, plugging in the aerial and letting the TV scan for the digital channels is about as taxing as it gets. They are, as the saying goes pretty much idiot proof. The couple of major decisions you need to consider (in my humble opinion) when buying a new TV are... Picture quality. Do you actually need 4K or is Full HD (1080p) okay for your needs. Remember that what services you wish to use or pay for will determine this. For example, with Netflix the subscription you choose, your WiFi speed and what you're willing to pay will determine whether you can stream in 4K or 1080p. There is no point in paying extra for a 4K TV and then never using it to it's full capability. I don't believe that any Thai TV channels are broadcast in 4K but I'm happy to stand corrected on this. It's also worth considering what ports (HDMI, USB etc) are on the back of the the TV and does it support Bluetooth just in case you wish to add a sound bar or some other other speaker system. For the most part, most modern TVs have a great picture but horrendous, tinny sound quality, which is made even worse when people choose to fix their TVs to the wall because the tiny little speakers that these slim TVs have are on the back of the TV so the sound they produce is therefore not being projected out into the room.
  9. Most, if not all TV sticks, boxes and dongles connect to a TV via a HDMI port and are powered either by a mains adapter or USB. So as long as they are in range of your WiFi they should work in all TVs manufactured in this day and age.
  10. Kind of ironic really because sometimes it smells like it is a 100 million years old...
  11. Child killers are the lowest of the low. He should never taste freedom ever again.
  12. Monday to Friday - Toast and coffee. The weekend - Toast and slightly more expensive coffee.
  13. Get yourself a corset. And after a while you'll get used to having skimmed milk in tea, I did.
  14. It's a bold and dangerous statement to say "I never get sick". Nobody can predict what will happen in the future.
  15. Fake news? We will know for sure if people vaccinated with MRNA vaccines start to glow in the dark.
