  1. Yeah. My team won and we're all good pals again.
  2. '0' Next bill will be a disaster. Batteries are now only good for a few nightly hours although solar is fine during the day. New batteries will be here next week somechai sometime.
  3. "COD scams continue please beware." So after I read the posts (and my own) I now realise this has nothing to do with English fish 'n chips.
  4. Yes it is indeed a very useful app and can save a lot of agro. Just make sure you don't leave the app running. It will quickly drain your battery.
  5. I did something very similar. The weeds grow wonderfully well in the bitumen filled cuts.
  6. It actually is his fault. The government owns most of PEA
  7. Yup. Hermia included in the price. I made myself a frame for the current ones using 1"x2" box section (2mm I think) It'll do for the new ones too which are marginally heavier.
  8. Each battery is 250Ah arranged in groups of four in series which, for the stringy fellows amongst us, is 3 parallel strings of 4 per string. Total Ah is therefore 750Ah which transforms to 36kWh. Aiming for 30% DoD we are looking at 10.8kWh at nominal 48V.
  9. 118k Baht including transport to Bangkok Port. There will be a further VAT bill to come but, after contacting customs, they look like zero duty payable.
  10. Is that some form of infection?
  11. In the nicest way I'm sure you mean.
  12. I wonder what the cost is to the NHS to take care of all the lung diseased smokers. Probably a lot more than £45M. That is possibly what the UK has in mind. I'm having trouble seeing a parallel scenario in Thailand.
  13. This is a something and nothing bit of news. What's the spec. of the panels? What is the efficiency? What is the technology etc.? Nice to know they are likely to be lighter and therefore more manageable but will they now get even bigger and less manageable I wonder? As for the article saying: "Solar panels are notoriously difficult to recycle, meaning they often end up in landfill." That is not true. Check this out https://www.cnxrido.com/ I do like the idea of them running cooler.
  14. I think I'm missing something here. Did we celebrate Songkran last year?
  15. Went to DoHome today and was told that well worn phrase..........No Have The girl did at least say "maybe next week" ☹️
  16. Err. I thought I mentioned lead carbon which is genus lead acid. Depends if you are talking "power wall" or box of assorted bits n' pieces but generally 33% to 50% of a DIY jobby.
  17. That doesn't make sense. I have done this a few times now. Always for my own personal use and never any problem. It would help if you could send the link for the import license regulation.
  18. No. I am my own import-export agency which is a pain but doable. I had to organise my own transport from Bangkok port. I will need to pay VAT for everything (about 8K) in order to release the duty free goods.
  19. I'm getting 12 of these direct from the factory. They should be here in a couple of weeks. https://www.cspbattery.com/hlc-series-fast-charge-long-life-lead-carbon-batteries-product/
  20. All batteries work at their best at 25ºC Lead acid loose 50% capacity for every 10º above that. Lithium loose also but not so dramatically. Maintaining a controlled environment is economically a good idea relative to the cost of the battery and their early demise. Now, If there is no temperature control the batteries are exposed to whatever the ambient is which is never going to be as bad as having a permanent 24hr increase of 10ºC but I figure for the sake of maximising my 125k 750Ah battery investment It's worth an inverter air con for 18k baht + a few AAC blocks if available.
  21. I'm going for lead carbon gel batteries. https://www.hiteksolar.co.nz/blogs/news/106430214-why-should-i-consider-using-lead-carbon-batteries https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s41918-022-00134-w There are loads of scholarly articles about them, but briefly they are about the same as LiFePO4's life expectancy but a lot less expensive and don't require a BMS to look after them. They will charge very quickly but they are very heavy which isn't an issue for stationary batteries.
  22. For me, it's more a question of what it pays for. Wasn't there talk some while ago about paying for hospital bills?
  23. Thanks, good idea, but all the building work around here is conventional concrete blocks with middle bits missing. If I get 200 from DoHome your welcome to make an offer for 100 of them.
  24. I wish I could enjoy some of those positives. I've been chasing around all over the place trying to get 100 off 75 x 200 x 600. I can't find any in stock except DoHome who supply 200 minimum quantity.
