The man behaved foolishly, he shouldn't have pushed his religious beliefs down children's throats. As for pronouns I also wouldn't call a trans person by their preferred pronouns but one can get out of that by simply using their names in place of a pronoun. Don't fight a woke establishment, they are too scared and cowardly to go against the loud minority, one has to bypass them, not identify as a bigot and demand recognition of his status as such, that only works by identifying with an incorrect gender.

Thaksin Says He's Too Old to Run for PM Again at 75

Most, if not all politicians are self serving ego trippers although many do get a lot right because they listen to competent advisers and getting things right is important if only to increase status and rise higher. It rather depends on if you want to be represented internationally by a self serving uncouth leier who will have to speak with sophisticated intelligent self serving European politicians. Trump as president would lower the prestige of every American. Magers are an American phenomenon, they are reviled and laughed at by a generally better educated European public who are for the most part sophisticated and well traveled. Trump is regarded as an amusing anomaly who rose to prominence due to a section of the public not accepting that America is losing its financial leadership role in the world, it is basically broke and the American dream is dead and for a people whose ego relies on the strength of their credit cards this is catastrophic. It is easier to have a thug in charge blaming the deep state than to accept the truth, due to the world reserve currency status of the dollar you have been able to live on other peoples money for far too long, 34 trillion dollar debt, rising to 50 trillion in 2030 can't be paid back and the lenders know it, China has ditched 60% of its dollar holdings already and others will follow. 1 trillion seconds is 31,000 years, that's how big a trillion is.

Not exactly well planned, all the police had to do was read the number plate of her bike from the cctv, perhaps she'll get off lightly for stupidity. -
Man found dead after argument with wife in Phuket rental home
soalbundy replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I've found Thais to be just the opposite, they are terrified of death, even a jocular mention of it makes them uncomfortable. Sometime ago at the dentist I was getting prepared for some dentures, the dentist and her assistant, both young women recommended some new expensive material which I refused saying at my age it would be a waste of money, they would only burn with me at the temple, they fell into an embarrassed silence glancing at one another in a shocked manner, my wife broke the silence by apologizing for my remark saying falang have a different attitude to death. Later I remonstrated to my wife saying it wasn't necessary to apologise for my harmless remark to which she replied it is impolite to mention death. -
Looking back I would say it's a highly over rated activity incorporated into our genetic make up, the urge to get satisfaction is never matched by the aftermath; natures trap used to force procreation. This activity is the cause of many dramas and tragedy's world wide, but like breathing it can't be stopped.

Retired Thai officer covers car in cash to aid the needy
soalbundy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So where does a retired sergeant get all this cash from? Past activities in the police force no doubt, now retired he has to quieten his conscience and hope for a good rebirth by distributing his Ali Babas cash hoard......but I'm just a cynic. -
I don't think so, Venezueler has the largest oil reserves but due to the US it can't sell any, with the US losing influence it can, Russia has huge possibilities for as yet untapped reserves and China has just found large oil reserves in the North that it can tap. Apart from that Oil is losing its importance as energy, green energy, gas, nuclear power etc will continue to play a bigger part in the energy market. Fresh water will become the next sought after resource.

No of course not but why should they lend them money if they are going to be paid back with an unstable currency. It could be that as with the dollar now, countries will prefer to be paid with Brics currency, This is going to be destabilizing for the whole world at first and will bring about new geopolitical partnerships, I can imagine that in 20 years or so the EU will be partnered with Russia, while Asia will look to China, the US will have its partners in South America, its backyard. Who knows, just my ramblings, but one thing is clear the US can't continue down this debt road, there is no free lunch and all empires come to an end.

I can see no harm in simple mindfulness but perhaps when one goes deeper into Buddhist teachings...'there is no self' or 'the world is empty' without proper tuition as to what is meant it could cause confusion. The real practitioners into emptiness really is something that a novice should stay away from but a novice would never get that far, most meditaters never achieve more than 20 minutes, I can do 15 minutes, sometimes 20, that is harmless. One should never meditate as a 'duty' (although that is often recommended), it should be joyful, peaceful.

Hence why I say democracy is a sham.

Because their currency will be partially backed by gold and hence more stable and since it will be ruled by more than one country its stability will be jealously guarded. The oil producing countries will demand Brics currency, not dollars as a result, it will be the end of the dollar as a world reserve currency (it's the only reason that they could pile on so much debt) At the moment it is still the reserve currency of choice which allows it to bully other states into compliance but the world is getting sick of it and the worm is turning.

I don't go to any organizations but have done meditation on and off for 30 years, it is extremely good for decreasing stress, now in retirement I have no stress but continue meditating because I find it enjoyable, yes certainly mind altering but in a positive way. My cousin who is a functioning bi-polar does mindfulness training and he says it has helped him tremendously partly because he now goes deeper on his own looking within for what is it that is depressed, alone the search hauls him out of his black days.

The point is that the budget deficit is getting larger each year and therefore the debt also becomes larger (I've read somewhere that by 2030 it will be 50 trillion) the interest payments are enormous. If and when other countries decide that holding US debt is too risky then the US is bankrupt. Would your bank continue lending you money when you already have enormous amounts of debt and continue to spend more than you earn and show no intention of reducing your debt? The debt is also inflationary because the government also borrows from the FED who can just print money from thin air, this reduces the worth of the dollars to the lenders who consequently will demand higher interest from the US (who will have to print more money to pay it, a situation which isn't viable. Yes other countries have higher debt to GDP, Japan for instance but most of their debt is local,ie in yen. The EU has 11 trillion in debt laughable compared to the US. When the BRICS currency rolls out then there is no hope for the US.
