That's totally legally in Thailand.
Ok...maybe not legal. But the police can totally get away with that like it's legal.

There was, and never had been, hail. Do you guys even understand science?

Built too close to the sea. Lawsuits were filed, threats were made, the project continued. Illegally.
Same thing with the view Talay condominium jomtien( the one across from View Talay 2)? Everytime I pass by, most apartments look empty.

View Talay 7 is an excellent example.
Can you elaborate? What about VT7?

Does anyone know if alcohol will be banned any days this week, and if so, when?

What ever happened to that large bald English guy named Howard who used to be in the tourist police?

Poipet is a shithole of the first degree. Use extreme caution if you go there.

The ironic thing is that there is a lot of money in enforcing the traffic laws. And it would be a great public service in deterring those who don't follow the rules of the road. But that would take actual policework. It is much much easier to spot a white guy on a moto and pull him over to get money.

"No meter."
That is the response I got from a registered by taxi last week. Then he wanted 150 baht from the bottom of Buddha Hill to Foodland in Jomtien. That'sless than a five minute ride.
I don't think it isn't possible to get a taxi to use the meter in Pattaya.
Isnt Uber illegal in Thailand?

Best to pop along to your local DLT and ask, they can be different requirements at different offices.
You don't say where your located as there maybe a motorcycle school in your area which will make it easier by all accounts.
Jomtien.

Look at top of page.
You will have to take the full test, theory & practical.
I could not access any of those pages. Nothing came up.
what requirements are necessary?

I have a driver's license from back home, but not a motorcycle license. I really want to buy a new bike.
What are the requirements for getting a motorcycle license? I am on an ED visa.

I can see nothing worse than thousands of Chinese tourists having access daily to my condominium complex. The next week, there will be thousands of different Chinese tourists who are indistinguishable from the last lot.
-
Thais are not smart enough to solve or control the problem. So, it will get worse...much worse. We have an unintelligent, uneducated, selfish population who destroy what used to be beautiful.
the tourists will stop coming.

Thanks for the answers, have found a great place for them already.
Where is it?

I own a condo in a nice area of Jomtien that is my primary residence. There is a nice swimming pool. There is easy access to pattaya by Baht bus (10 minutes). I would like to see if I can find someone who lives in Bangkok who would be interested in swapping condos occasionally. This would really only work if the other person isn't an aficionado of working girls. PM me if interested

Where can I find a language exchange partner in Pattaya (please don't say beach road). I want to learn Thai better and I can exchange English. I have a good book. I really just need to work on pronunciation/tones and practice sentences with a partner.

Well this bullshit is predictable every year. Some even make a point of coming into Hua Hin to pick up the fish. Look at the flood timetable along with dams releasing water and you can predict it quite accurately.
Oh yes. I will look at the flood timetables. I look at them several times a day, Mr. Apologist.

Probably 90% of people on Thaivisa are slightly bitter and twisted - why I have no idea. The Kingdom is my home, and I enjoy every day- so many spend their lives comparing everything to back home. Back home is so dull , cold and boring.
Its to all a bit of an adventure here.
Good to see the beach looking better.
The beaches where I grew up have been clean of trash for hundreds of thousands of years. The American Indians indigenous to the area would never trash the environment. The people who stole the land from them wouldn't either. But we aren't soulless savages like the Thais.

"Guess who's back? Back again. Nigerian chaps. Tell a friend. Guess who's back? Guess who's back? Guess who's back? Guess who's back? Guess who's back? "

I've lived near the beach and lakes all my life. The only time I saw anything close to this was when a lake near my house had insufficient oxygen for the fish and they began jumping onto the beach, dying by the hundreds.
What we have here is fish being washed up already dead on the beach by the hundreds of thousands due to Thai pollution.
It is so obvious.

This is a regular phenomenon at this time of year. The explanation given previously is the amount of fresh water being drained into the gulf from dams and heavy rainfall cause stress to the marine life. These are salt water fish. It has nothing to do with the water quality in Hua Hin which gets the dead fish due to the existing currents.
Oh bullish!t!

@IgboChief Your argument is sensible and am willing to accept that. I do not however agree with the likes of @soistalker who claim:
"Black Africans are in thailand for one of the following reasons:
-To sell drugs
-To smuggle drugs
-Prostitution
-Pimping
-Email scams"
You know what? Some black Africans come to study, some to do legitimate business, some to work for the UN and other multinational companies, some to teach, and yes there are Africans with enough money to travel for leisure. A few Nigerians do not represent all black People, and this is why I think the conversation on crime committed by Africans is usually racist. A Nigerian, Gambian, Senegalese or Namibian criminal does not represent the entire Black Africa. The police and the media should stop tarnishing the name of an entire race on the basis of crimes committed by nationals of particular countries. If they did their job properly in the first place these criminals would not enter their country. Remove the criminals from the streets and let the law abiding people be. When a Chinese does something bad we do not say that all Asians are bad. When a Frenchman kills himself we do not say that all Europeans are suicidal. But alas when a Nigerian is arrested, damn those Africans! Deport the entire lot!!
Let's put it this way: the number of Black Africans who come to Thailand to do criminal activity is exponentially larger than that of those from western countries. It's just a much, much larger percentage. I don't notice them doing criminal activity in Bangkok because they are black. I noticed because of obvious African prostitutes grabbing men as the walk past. Or a nice African gentleman trying to sell drugs on Sukhumvit. They are openly, and stupidly so, engaging in criminal activity. If they were any other nationality or color, they would also be easy to spot.
But trying to portray them as just like any other farang in thailand is disingenuous and shows that you are drinking the diversity cult Kool Aid.

It is my contention that most of the trash on the beach comes from Thais on the beach. I watch them throw trash on Jomtien Beach with the frequency of Soi dogs crapping.
What's up with the lies?!
