Economy is dynmaic. It does not take much for it go in the opposite direction. For instance the interest payment on the 35+ Trillion debt is at 1 Trillion per year. The US GDP for 2023 is less than the total debt(GDP was slightly over 27 Trillion). I'm not sure how long "kick the can down the road" will be sustainable.

Booked a ride to Central Festival mall last week and the fare was quoted as 103 Baht. After I completed the ride my card was charged the 103 baht and then a second charge of 62 Baht was made and this was classified as "Other". I messaged the driver and he said it was a system error and I would be refunded. I emailed Grab's alleged customer service and I got an automated reply that the isssue is being reviewed. So far "radio silence" from Grab. Anyone get the additional "other charge" after completing a Grab ride?

I have stayed at Marriot and Shangri La in CNX (both looked like a 5 star from the outside) but the experiences were disappointing. Marriot did not provide a tootbrush (6500 Baht for one night) but Shang Ri La did (6500 Baht for one night). Both properties were impressive in terms of rooms, swimming pools and gym but the employees were lacking.

I would agree witht the reviewer on this. I have stayed at 5 star, 4 star and many 3 star hotels in the Land of Smiles and the defintion of "service" is a fluid term. If one pays 5 Star prices this would mean "the guest should not have to ask any thing". I have seen eco friendly and disposable toothrushes that are not made of plastic. So "save the enviornemnt" does not ring true to me. In my experience I hated dealing with native hotel managers in LOS but all the foreign managers were receptive and friendly when I spoke to them about anything.

This could be challenging to prevail in court as far as I know no quantifiable standard where "spicy food is not safe to consume". My guess is any defense attorney can find others who consumed the same dish without being injured. Also, is this "injury" now delibitating or permanent?

This could set a precedent for "hot" coffee sales? Not too hot or you could get sued for a spill caused by the consumer? I'm surprised SBUX has not been sued like this because back in the US their coffee has been really hot.

I'm not surprised. America is the land of lawsuits. Remember the McD hot coffee lawsuit. Also, remember the DC Judge who sued a dry clearner for over a million because his clothing was ruined. The restaurant will have to hire a lawyer to defend or negotiate a settlement. That is unless suit is dismissed. The biggest common denominator is: Lawyers. Amereica has way too many lawyers chasing $$$.

So how long would it take to the get the ETA-Thailand approved? ETA-Korea took 10 minutes the last time I went to S. Korea. The cost was 10,000 KRW($7.25 based upon todays exchange rate). As usual no clear and definite answer. TIT. For those who entered during Covid times the then Thaialnd Pass time frame was uncertain. Franchise's change ownership over time. But at least she could have said location and the time frame of her McD experience. So far she has not. This is the problem. This keeps it alive. I'm not a Trump or MAGA guy but this gives him an issue he can bring up again and again.

I am the same age as Harris. i worked at a McDonalds in Orange County CA in 1981. I was paid $3.35 an hour and maide $800 that year. My gross earnings were reported to the Social Security Administration and is reflected on my SSA account page. The same McDonalds is still in operation today. This should have been a "nothing burger" but I am not surprised by this. "Say anything and stay silent if people doubt you". This looks like a failed attemtp by Harris to make a connection with the average American. It's not like Trump has much in connection with the average besides eating at McD's. I also worked at the French Fry station and after two months I was promoted to the grill. Working the grill was much more difficult than working the fry station. Even back then the process at a McD's was very automated. "push buttons when the alarm beeps" was the mantra. I learned a lot from my time McD's and it was one of the few places that would give a job to young person with no work experience.

The only movie that I wanted to see in a theatre lately was Deadpool and Wolverine. It was worth it. Most movies are like "nah" so watching it on a tv is fine. But when the blockbusters come out it's worth the trek to an actual theatre. Top Gun Maverick at the theatre was much much better than on my TV.
