  1. In this case Ram was the closest and Ram’s location was in the Grab app. He felt it was urgent to get to the closest hospital as soon as possible.
  2. One of my neighbors had cardiac arrest symptoms years ago. He knew a heart attack was imminent and called a Grab and went to Ram. Grab was there in 5 minutes and 5 minutes to Ram. He is still with us but the total bill came to 40,000 Baht(he has never had insurance). Of course the first thing he did after being discharged was to buy a pack of cigarettes at 7-11.
  3. I would agree too. Also, I saw a lot of Tesla's in Seoul but they could only be driven in the wide roads. I saw one trying maneuver into a small side street in Itaewon and it was not pretty. Once BYD or MG EV's are sold in the US it will disrupt the Tesla monopoly. Many cannot afford a Tesla but an EV at $25,000 is possible for many.
  4. She had to join a Korean group to achieve fame and success. What if she had never left Buriram? She is an example of Korean Soft Power.
  5. 1) I can’t recall besides Thailand where Thai Music, movies or TV shows are in high demand. 2) Copying the “Korean Wave” or Hallyu sounds like a good idea but “TIT”. The only thing that has true global appeal is Thai Food. 3) Has anyone ever purchased “Thai Fashion” outside of Thailand? 4) Stick to what is known globally: Thai Tourism which is appealing to many in the world because “Thailand is a cheap place to visit for a short time or a long time”. Philippines has won the OFW (Overseas Foreign Worker) race Vietnam is now selling Electric Vehicles in the US( The VinFast and it looks awful). No need for Thai produced EV’s. Korea won the “Soft Power” battle many years ago and I doubt it can be duplicated.
  6. It was a documentary I saw online about 10 years ago. I believe the Airman was with OSI. Let me see if the documentary is still available or not.
  7. The US Air Force had a transgender member deploy to Afghanistan about 10 years ago. A separate bathrooms and shower had to be built just to accommodate this one member. As I recall this member was born female but serving as a male. Not surprised and more to come. “Killing the enemy and blowing things up that need to be blown up” This was the actual purpose of having a military but times have changed.
  8. Kantary Hills hotel in Nimman has a Christmas Dinner Buffet for 1500 Baht per person. Dec 24 from 600 PM.
  9. Depending on many factors(such as body weight, drinking while eating and if one is an alcoholic or not) the time needed to “sober” up can vary. For many if one is over the legal limit for driving (in many cases .08 BAC) if can take up to 8 hours or more. “TIT”? Does logic or even common sense ever factorin decision making?
  10. I got one two years ago. Digital Fingerprints submitted at a Print/Notary type place at 200 PM and the results were emailed to me in two hours. I got the FBI fingerprint background check and it was $47 dollars. It should be the same for a California DOJ check. There are two main companies that provide this service.
  11. #1 Yes #2. Agree with you and I have been with Pacific Cross for years and the last time I up loaded the insurance document from Pac Cross(page 2 was in Thai) and the consulate still wanted the Foreign Insurance Document? Pac Cross was nice enough to complete this document for me. "TIT".
  12. Fly from Thailand to LAX twice a year. The 7 hour limit is the problem. Have flown the following routes over the years. 1. BKK-SIN-LAX. BKK to SIN is about 3 hours but the SIN to LAX can be 17 hours nontstop or a two hour stop in NRT(NRT to LAX is 10 hours) 2. BKK-HKG-LAX (BKK to HKG is under 7 hours) 3. BKK-TPE-LAX and this is similar to #2 4. BKK-ICN-LAX. BKK to ICN is 5 hours and then 10 hours to LAX i can only recommend paying for Premium Economy or go reallly big and pay for Business. The cheapest Business Class on this route is usually PAL with a stop in Manila. Of course the experience on PAL can vary.
  13. So she is a thigh quality Elite Visa holder? Someone paid 600,000 Baht for her Elite Visa. Otherwise why is she an online seller and/or YouTube influencer? Gotta sella a lot of stuff online or get a lot views on YouTube to make 600,000 Baht. If she gets deported then I guess no refund for the Elite Visa.
  14. Doubt it. They now require bank statements showing the $30,000 in the account or direct deposit of $2500 or more if one is using the income/pension method.
  15. Ok. I am not talking about the AUD. This information was posted on the Los Angeles Thai Consulate website. So the relevant currencies would the USD and THB. Currently the THB to USD exchange rate is 35 to 1.
  16. 800,000 Baht / $30,000 = 26.67 Baht and 65,000 Baht / $2500 = 26 Baht. Currently $1 = 35.14 Baht. This is a major fluctuation in Thai Baht to USD exchange rates.
  17. First time I have seen the LA Consulate post financial requirements in US Dollars. 800,000 Baht in today’s rate is $22,764 and 65,000 Baht is $1849. These numbers are way different than $30,000 and $2500. These numbers might disqualify some. Or this is an indication of future requirements?
  18. I think in the race for Influence in LOS the west has lost. China won that battle and when Beijing calls Bangkok will pickup in 3 rings. If Washington calls Bangkok they will be put on hold. “time to read the writing on the wall”.
