  1. PV system fitted yesterday 9 x 570w longi panels. 5kw maxsky hybrid inverter 49v 245ah nmc battery, 6 of the panels had been fitted on a previous visit, nice tidy job, system working well today ( thursday) 13.10kwh production, started producing at 7.40am stopped at 5.40pm, battery full by midday, production peaked at 4.13kwh at 10.30am, we had used the battery the previous evening and all night. so 0 units on the meter since install completed at 7pm on wednesday the installer from Bangkok, system fitted close to Ban chang rayong, would recommend the fitter, he spoke ok English well enough to explain system to me, will add some photo's later
  2. get an email, then go to 7/11 they will stamp the passport with an offical Thai immigration stamp, easy
  3. more hoops to jump through for a yearly married extension, if married in USA
  4. my yearly AIS net marathon 15mbps/100gb per month sim run out this week, was looking at options, and was informed top up sim for 1,800thb and it will be renewed on the same package for another year, was automatically renewed after top up, my 15mbps/100gb per month sim is not available anymore, i think for new customers its 2,200thb for 15mbps/50gb
  5. i am in the throws of having a system installed, going to be 9x 570 longi panels, 5kw deye hybrid inverter with a 11kw battery 48v 248ah, the installer from Bangkok is busy all the time, i had to wait a month for him to fit me in, he found some time for his men to come and fit the panels, so he is coming next week to complete the install, system will not be seen from street level
  6. he does not have to attend, someone can attend on his behalf, but everything needs to be completed correct, so for this i would recommend an agent, they are doing lots so they know the score, they will also pay for it as well, about ฿10,000 all in
  7. should be 90 days from date of application for yearly extension quote '' The first application for extension of stay by the foreigner is equivalent to the notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days'' taken from here - https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1666
  8. my understanding it that one should get cover from leaving home country to returning to home country, there was a thread on here that explained this a short while ago
  9. as long as its 12volts, some dashcams as well as usb are 5volts, would also need a fuse
  10. the fitter called round today to drop off the panels, now going for Deye inverter with a 48v 240ah battery set up.
  11. i am thinking of having a solar system installed at first without batteries, but with the intension of adding later, the inverters that the chap uses are either a Huawei sun 2000 3KTL L1 or a Deye Lvtosun 5kw, i seem to recall reading somewhere that Huawei inverters only allow expensive Huawei batteries to be used, if so if i chose the Deye inverter instead could cheaper battery solutions be used.
  12. op you will be missed, but please stay in touch with more wisdom,
  13. both the same price, marriage 400,000thb only has to be in the bank for 2 months, or maybe 3 at some offices, a few more forms etc than retirement, retirement money can not drop below 400,000thb
  14. you can open an account with a tourist visa, try other banks and if they all fail, use an agent to open the account
  15. do you believe what you posted, if so you must be a Politian, everyone that enters the UK in a plastic dinghy is an illegal immigrate, and needs to be placed in a detention camp or deported
  16. don't forget the re-entry permit after you get the 1 year extension
  17. op best to go and apply for the yearly extension in the last month of the 90 day non immigrant visa stamp, so 17th November on wards, the money needs to have seasoned for 2 months the only extensions allowed on a non immigrant 'O' visa area yearly or a 60 day visit Thai wife, i assume the money was in the bank when he applied for the visa,
  18. I went and applied on monday, they rang today to come see us, but we were out so made an anointment for tomorrow wednesday, he could travel abroad during the 7 weeks but he will have to start process again on re-entry, he applied too early, some offices do the 30 day period from the date of application as does mine, but others start the 30 days from expiry of old permission to stay stamp, I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill
  19. not available in Thailand at the moment i believe
