  1. OK, I was referring to Thaksin Shinawatra, or Takki Shinegra... or Tony Woodsome... or...
  2. Genuine on links shared. Can't comment on others.
  3. My better half using FreeStyle Libre (14 days). Accurate, with Android phone it needs to be activated with reader, then can be tapped with the NFC enabled phone and app. It's accurate (compared with blood glucose check - AccuCheck Instant) to within a couple of percent. But there are some downsides - you need to tap it to get readings and it only keeps last 8 hours so if you forget, the chart has a gap. Reader can be plugged into a computer and connected to their cloud service to provide full report, but the graph on the reader itself is quite limited. App on the phone is not very accurate first couple of days of replacing reader. Sometimes it says "Sensor error. Retry in 10 minutes", and of course has no automatic alerts when glucose is over or below limit. Considering replacing with another brand, Sibionics, as it has about the same accuracy, it's just as easy to apply, but works with mobile phone and sends the data every minute, triggering alerts on breaching limits. Cost is same or lower than Libre. There is Libre 3 which has all these features but it's very expensive in Thailand. I am also aware of Dexcom G7 but haven't seen it available in Thailand. LInks to where we get them from: Libre: https://www.lazada.co.th//products/i4129320146-s16186087767.html Sibionics: https://www.lazada.co.th//products/i5014122655-s21190569774.html
  4. Run by same company. Airport link was also very good when it first opened, and I didn't mind 150 baht for express train (usually alone on it, though) but now it's a bit dated, although still very convenient to avoid taxis at the airport. Although recently, since Grab counter opened just opposite exit 4 on ground floor, I find myself taking taxi most of the time, and every time with bags. Used to live right next to AIrport link station so using it was no brainer. It's a great alternative, especially during peak traffic hours. Can save an hour or more.
  5. Who really cares... Most of broadcasting will move to internet and people will just stream from there using their mobiles, and share to bluetooth speakers when needed to be heard more widely. There are thousands of radio stations at sites with apps like TuneIn and many others. Like there is TV broadcasting on Youtube and many other streaming sites, which also have mobile apps. With seemingly every villager having a smartphone even when they don't have electricity, and city folks already receiving ALL their media from mobiles, this scheme to make more money to NBTC might result in making them irrelevant.
  6. I don't know this guy but most of at least travel video makers travel in groups of 4 or more, where the videographer takes shots from distance, and "influencer" holds own blogging camera like GoPro or similar. Hence for one of his crew video recording the whole session isn't strange, and in this case, given that's German police getting involved, probably quite helpful in identifying the culprit.
  7. Should have printed you out a poster with QR code to Grab and Food Panda apps to order food by yourself, you lazy bugger.
  8. Not from me. I used money earned in Thailand but I have PR. No idea about your case. Also no idea if any money you transfer into Thailand for buying a condo would get taxed...? Just thinking about this last bit. Let's say (for easy numbers) that condo costs 1 million. And that personal tax bucket is (let's ignore deductions) at 20%. You transfer 1 million and get that paper from bank that 1 million was transferred from abroad. Can you use that paper to buy 1 million condo? Or would it be considered that amount is insufficient as you had to pay 200k in tax? Am I thinking too much? Probably...
  9. It is not. It is to fill up empty government coffers.
  10. From news I can read that there are many skilled Filipino ladyboys expanding Thai economy around Nana area... with occasional expansion of business for the nearby hospitals treating both them and their local counterparts...
  11. That... could get him in serious trouble. This is a computer crime and defamation material in Thailand. If her lawyer is any good, this man could spend significant amount of time behind bars after publicly apologising to her in every media available...
  12. Hilton needs to start locking up those balcony doors and windows!
  13. The right half of the picture is missing...
  14. When applying for PR, a friend suggested that his relative was (I won't post what position as that could lead to defamation charges) anyway, the man shamelessly demanded 10 million baht in cash, or if I didn't pay up, he said I'll never get approved. Well, I didn't pay, used Camerata's guide in this forum and received lots of support from those willing to help, mostly Thais, and received PR when they finally started being issued with Prayuth's government again. I don't know what the running rate would be for citizenship or what happens if people that were paid to were moved. I would guess, you'd be back to square one in that case. When I applied the immigration offered me their own lawyers to "help with process" which I refused much to their dissatisfaction (and lots of threats) but know what... maybe 6-12 months later when I went there to get another 6 months under consideration extension... there were 2 young ladies sitting there. Asked what happened with the other crew - they were sacked for corruption. Ha!
  15. I did not say what you put into my box. That's your addition. And it's only true if you're not married, then 3 years (actually takes more than 3 years to prepare to apply) for PR plus waiting to get it, which can be a year (or 6 years in my case due to all coups happening that time), and then 5 years on PR before applying for citizenship. But, if you're married to a Thai, you could as well apply for citizenship immediately. Male or female. As long as you fulfill all the other requirements for it.
  16. Sure you can't... I can proudly announce I have no serious mental issues at all!
  17. Usually it's just that - difficult but not impossible. As long as you're willing to commit time into it and doing it the right way for the right reasons.
  18. 2 white people making huge fuss about the third white person using N word...
  19. If you qualify for it, go ahead, but may need to give up UK passport eventually, if that ever gets enforced. But did you check the requirements to apply? As @BritManToo says, you would need to be in certain age group, have high education, have a high paying salary from same company for 2-3 years paying taxes to prove it, have a decent level of Thai communication skills and history/cultural knowledge. They would also judge your contribution to Thai society and your appearance (I don't mean how you look but how "Thai-like" you behave). There are many threads on it. Check them through and see if you're confident you can pass. If yes, go ahead. Ir should make your life a lot easier than being on temporary extensions.
  20. That's like sitting on Boeing 787 and watching CNN reporting on plane's manufacturing faults...
