  1. 5. To apply for a visa, a foreigner must possess a valid passport or travel document that is recognised by the Royal Thai Government and comply with the conditions set forth in the Immigration Act of Thailand B.E.2522 (1979) and its relevant regulations. In addition, the visa applicant must be outside of Thailand at the time of application. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=2771
  2. Yes, did a new visa about the same time last year to move my renewal date out of the summer months, a leftover from covid.
  3. Not the best advice as it all depends on what you are trying to do. If you live in the Sri Ratcha catchment area there is a possibility you will be turned away by Jomtien immigration.
  4. Si Ratcha is not an auxiliary office and they certainly could do covid extensions, getting turned down doesn't equate to not doing them. The office is for people living in the northern half of the province. Can be very busy at times with other asian nationalities. The Koh Si Chang office is for people off the shipping.
  5. There are 3 offices in Chonburi but not one in the city, third is on Koh Si Chang.
  6. You shouldn't be making such misleading statements. Visas are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and they have an office on the fourth floor for such activity as well as embassies and consulates around the world. Immigration is responsible for controlling the visa status of foreigners within the country. There was no fresh "entry" with a new visa, nothing more than a change in status. They have to put something in the passport to indicate the change and stamps are as good as anything bearing in mind they have to deal with many nationalities. Nothing should be taken literally, particularly when they keep referring to extensions as a visa. It is wrong for people to be making comparisons between an office of the MFA, the subject of this thread, and an Immigration office.
  7. Nothing more than an indication of your status. Been over 10 years since Thailand stopped using rubber stamps for visas, the sticker was updated in 2017 and has been replaced by e-visa in some countries .
  8. When I went to the appointment for the passport I was told I would get the new passport in 8 days and the old one would follow 10 to 14 days later. That was a bit of a surprise and had that materialised would have gone beyond my flight back. I wasn't keen on changing the flight so when I received the new passport I applied for a visa. The old passport came back the day after I got the visa. I then had a choice and as my extension was due to be renewed shortly after returning I decided to return on the visa.
  9. I came back with Emirates a couple of weeks ago. It was the return leg and I had a virgin passport and he never mentioned a visa at check-in, although I did have an e-visa. Been challenged a few times previously using a re-entry permit, didn't recognise that as a pseudo visa and said I needed a return ticket. Can take a bit of explaining that one, not on their crib sheet.
  10. It wouldn't matter where the submission was made, the primary key on a TM47 submission is the passport number. I live in Mueang Chonburi and it is normally about an hour, other than what I said in previous post. That may have been a trial and an indication of things to come.
  11. The one I did in April was so quick it had to have been automated. Acknowledgement at 14.07 and approval at 14.09. Website submission ref. Reference Number: TM47-20-20230404140735969 I did my first online in 2015 and that was a couple of days but in recent years it has generally been within a couple of hours.
  12. Had the same problem, quite difficult when there is no refuse collection/disposal.A lot depends where you live. Around Chonburi there are quite a lot of Japanese second hand places that will take stuff in reasonable condition for next to nothing. We had a pick up call in about a year ago looking for donations, took almost everything we had. Should have taken a note of the number, need it again.
  13. It is a paperwork exercise to provide visual evidence of the conversion from one status to another. Neither the visa stamp or the entry stamp are documented outside Immigration, unlike visas issued by the MoFA(via embassies) or the entry stamps applied at border posts. It should be fairly obvious that you cannot have 2 valid entry stamps without an exit stamp in between.
  14. If you enter the country visa exempt, your visa status is "exempt" How many people have entered the country with a visa issued by immigration? I will give you a clue, you cannot enter the building if you are already inside. I entered the country on 4th Oct using an e-visa, that visa is no longer valid and I was attributed from the original visa the visa status of Non O/marriage for 90 days, in a few weeks I will extend that visa status for a further 12 months. It is your current visa status that dictates what you can do. The most obvious example is if you change your visa status from Non O/marriage to Non O/retirement you can no longer work. Visas are the responsibility of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Immigration Dept are tasked with policing the use of said visas. Immigration have the authority to change visa status in a limited number of categories.
  15. That is not strictly true. If you enter the country on a 90 visa and go to extend that visa for 12 months the 90 day report will be due at the same time. The first 12 month extension on a new 90 day visa is taken as a 90 day report. Done it several times. I got caught out one time. My wife went to collect passport with extension stamp and she asked and was told in 90 days, should have been told 90 days from date of application.
  16. You mean like other countries. In 1973 we were stopped for speeding on the autobahn somewhere near Cologne, probably because I had "GB" on the vehicle. The policeman said 60 DM, my friend who was driving started to speak, the policeman said 70 DM, my friend said "but" and the policeman said 80 DM. At that point we decided to get the wallets out.
  17. TMs 86 & 87 don't get you a visa, only a change in visa status. Of course you are free to think what you want.
  18. Back in 2003 I was in the Sunshine hotel in Soi 8 I had just arrived in the evening and went for a shower. It was a shower over a bath and I slipped, fell on the bath side and broke 3 ribs. I didn't know that at the time, just thought badly bruised, and went to bed. Following morning I couldn't move without agony, phoned reception and within 15 minutes of making the call I was on the X ray table in Pattaya Memorial. Once admitted I had portable X ray at the bed every few hours, as you say very concerned about internal damage. Like you I only did 2 nights but being a private hospital that came to around 13K baht at the time. They wern't interested in insurance, they took my passport and I had to pay before being discharged, insurance paid up no problem. You have my sympathies a very painful injury, slightest wrong movement or just a laugh can cause severe stabbing pains. Fortunately you have been able to tell the tale and hopefully a speedy recovery.
  19. You need to be clear on what you are talking about. Two separate issues, you may need to submit a new TM30 which is the resposibility of the house master so there is no "in-person TM30" per se. No reason why it couldn't be done online if registered. Once the TM30 is submitted another TM47 (90 day) would be required and there is always the chance that immigration will ask that be done in person following the change in details. Other than filling in the form I don't prepare anything for an in person 90 day, I have always ended up at the copy machine anyway so I now see what he wants and then go.
  20. It would be standardisation, of course people only want that when it suits.
  21. There are a multitude of different sizes, including folding, on lazada. You would need to match panel output to your requirement, or get a purpose made panel. You can also buy solar charged power banks but you may have difficuly flying with those depending on the battery size. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/sada-20000mah-2-in-1-i3724228774-s14114915412.html?&search=pdp_v2v?spm=a2o4m.pdp_revamp.recommendation_2.7.d9fd7196ycqaPs&mp=1&scm=1007.16389.286994.0&clickTrackInfo=8d75bbb9-7c6c-4139-b1fe-aa43c1f39c3b__3724228774__4354__trigger2i__287002__0.021__0.021__0.0__0.0__0.0__0.021__6__null__null__null__null__null__null____423.0__0.5862884160756501__4.926165803108808__772__175.0__12005,126335,173871,181371,186029,186466,186558,186965,186978,187057,187065,187080,187164,188231,190317,190322,190327,190391,190604,190640,191850,194087,194271,194284,194333,195958,196429,196619,201378,202159,203107,203655,204555,205423,205508,212764,213701,218413,219059,226018,232522,233478,233479,233569,234278,234359,235501,235822,237483,239161,243890,246173,246272,246300,246376,246382,246387,246408,246424,246509,246613,246748,247052,247055,247069,247124,247950,253179,253514,255084,255119,255127,255285,255313,255314,255954,256194,257128,259796,263408,264539,265646,265761,265821,265876,270139,273319,273469,275678,275726,275812,276850,277815,280606,283067,283144,283293,285869,286218,286222,286240,286349,286367,286405,286409,286433,286434,287021,289008,289015,289023,290221,290230,290262,290990,290999,291434,293496,293546,296089,299666,299769,308637,315637,315728,318930,318938,319129,323736,323742,346949,348327,348447,350604,350643,350673__null__null__null__3650.16544_955.3632__null__32104__null__0.0__0.0________null__null__0
  22. Don't know where you got that impression from, must be a newbie.
  23. Indeed, all visa offices should be asking for the equivalent of 400K THB, being the local requirement for a 12 month stay in Thailand based on marriage.
  24. Visa applications are not done at immigration offices and such references only muddy the waters in respect of such applications.
  25. No. Really annoying on airlines that use that type of headset.
