Drain pipes for kitchen? Blue pipes? Clean water only?
BritManToo replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in DIY Forum
1" is for clean water. All other sizes in domestic buildings are for drains. No confusion possible. Ripped out the kitchen sink drain over the weekend, and replaced with this. Thai plumbing 7x 90 degree bends in 1m of pipe = impossible for a steel snake to clean. DIY plumbing 3x 90 degree bends = steel snake now only needs to go through 1x 90 degree bend. -
Here are 11 top moments from Trump's 'Meet the Press' interview
BritManToo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not sure why he's 'my boy'. I wouldn't vote for Trump, Biden, Karmala, Hillary or any of the lying, cheating, corrupt bunch. I don't vote in the UK elections for the same reason, no suitable candidates! Give me someone who promises to redistribute land and send the rich to re-education camps in Siberia, Alaska, The Orkney's, etc. and I'll start voting again. -

Just buy an 85" LCD TV, projectors are noisy, overheat and need to be watched in total darkness. -

Whereas Biden can't even read his script. Can't believe how many folks favour one old fool over another old fool. Wake up and stop voting for all the corrupt greedy puppets! -
Kindle Users – which (country-specific) Amazon site to you use?
BritManToo replied to ReloTH's topic in General Topics
Just use Z-Library to source your books + Calibre library to load them on your Kindle. My Kindle has been in 'airplane' mode since the day it was bought. Cost of books = ZERO -

The heat may not kill you, but the global food crisis might!
BritManToo replied to Bandersnatch's topic in The Green Forum
There is no global food crises. Food production is higher now than at any time in the past. However, farmers are not charities, so if you want food you will need money to buy it. -

UK Pensions and related info

No biggy ....... I'll take the 7.8% taking me to about 11,500GBP/year. -
That's because you use too much air-con. I've live mainly without aircon for 12+ years, and 25c or below is cold to me now. 30-35c is my comfortable resting temperature. 24c now and I'm feeling a little cold.

Glue joints are for plastic pipes! This mornings effort, the Thai plumbers put 7x 90 degree joints in this 1m length of pipe (in the walls). Impossible to get a steel snake down to clear, so I had to dig through the wall, then dig out the slab floor. Managed to do the job cutting out all their joints, and with 3 joints creating a washing machine drain point at the same time. Just finished gluing the joints 5 mins back, will fill the wall and slab another day, tired now. Next time the kitchen sink drain blocks up the steel snake only needs to go round 1x 90 degree bend. It didn't help having 3 days of torrential rain, forcing me to block up the hole in the wall and bring my tools in.

How different and rich is the WILDLIFE in Thailand (compared to Europe’s) ?
BritManToo replied to Franck60's topic in Isaan
Almost nothing, a few snakes, lizards and scorpions. The Thais have eaten all the wildlife. Was trail running and MTBing in the jungle and mountains around N. Thailand for nearly 10 years, no wild mammals beyond rats and tree shrews. -

BritManToo replied to LaosLover's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
And many things are more expensive. Usually nowhere to rent so you have to buy/build in someone elses name. -

Used to associate with the Vegan cyclists in CM, never seen such an aggressive bunch, fist fights and reporting each other to the police nearly every week. All disappeared now. Girl in the photo looks like she has a serious eating disorder!
