    All the tourists in Chiang Mai disappeared last week. Only long term change I can think of is cannabis everywhere. OP is right about QR code payments, even the market stalls accept QR.

    They started off the same colour red as the Brit royal guard. But like all the clothes you buy in Thailand, faded a bit in the sun/wash. The same happened to my red m/c grips, one is still red, the other pink.

    Small packages, purchased made and delivered from China usually aren't taxed in Thailand. My last Zenni delivery .............. from China mainland via Hong Kong.

    Zenni are Chinese, had about 5 pairs from them over the past 10 years, never any tax. Why would you think that firm is American?

    Gas or flour explosion? I use to work in a cake factory (Greens Portslade) an they were always concerned about the risk of flash fire/explosion due to flour particles in the air.

    Not sure about 'unclean women' where ever I go they insist on a shower before and after (sometimes during).

    When I rent someone else's house, I don't expect them to spy on me. But if it was all free, then I'd make more effort.

    Go back and teach in your home country, they pay a lot more. As others have mentioned, you are competing for work with Africans and Filipinos.

    I've got 7kWhr of battery, runs out for about 7 days in the year. Monsoon is wetter, but the sun is higher (so charges quicker). I have the same 5kW VM2 inverter, cheap as chips (13kbht inc wifi) and works well. If the guy adds a small generator, he'll be fine all year round.

    Loads of Chinese businessmen hire hookers from brothels. Indians tend to shop on beach road to avoid the bar fines. Not sure how I would pick Russians out of the crowds of white men in bars. Don't know what that has to do with the OP. Can't see normal tourists having much to do with hookers in either Vietnam or Thailand, not that there's any shortage in either country.

    I live with my parents, then 3 years at university alone. After that I was living with a woman, with a total of couple of months alone between relationships. So 67 - 3 = 64 years of not being alone. PS. Same from my Brit wife during divorce "You will be a lonely old man" It's almost like they're reading from a script. She was wrong, I was living with a young Thai woman while being divorced.
