  1. It's nearly always cheaper to drink beer. I've also noticed the serving ladies avoid guys drinking soft drinks.
  2. And yet ......... I was a scientist working for the British government. What's your degree in Chomper, old chap?
  3. Make sure you leave her enough money to replace the battery after 10 years. 400,000bht should cover it.
  4. You can use any UK address, there's no checks made that you actually live there. I just use the last house I rented in the UK.
  5. Yeah, but at least we don't have to go and live in the UK for 2 years to claim it. My Brit pension isn't that bad, 32000bht/4weeks is enough to live on if I didn't support all the hangers on.
  6. The interview Paula Yates did with Buzz Aldrin (Big Breakfast circa mid 1990s, I was there), she suggested just that and he didn't punch her.
  7. Obviously they'd need to have total control over China, India and South America before any policy would work.
  8. I'm clever enough to know someone claiming to use the same measuring equipment in satellites over the past 30 years is a liar.
  9. Not that massive, a few people in NASA is all it needs.
  10. I only have the right to live in England. So the rest of the world doesn't really concern me. I also don't like the temperature and climate of England. If I thought I could warm it up a bit, I'd do everything in my power to achieve that aim.
  11. The accuracy of the processing ........ or the manipulation of the processing to fit the current globalist political agenda?
  12. I just don't believe you! I can't buy any scientific measuring equipment today, that was on sale 30 years ago.
  13. I thought they changed satellites and measuring methods ever 5 years or so? If it were the same satellite measuring the temperatures for the pasts 30 years I'd be more confident in the results. As for long term past temperatures, I can remember a summer in the 1970s that was so hot you could shovel ladybirds out of the roads. Not to mention every summer holiday was 6-8 weeks of blistering heat on the south coast of England.
  14. 1. Most of us didn't plan for divorce. Without divorce i would have been living in a large house in the UK with a pension of 35,000 GBP/year. 2. Insurance costs, I don't have any beyond that required by the government and bank. I'm OK with dying when my time comes (not long now).
  15. I'd have to disagree with you on this one. Wasting 2Mbht on a house in someone else's name in a country you have no right to live as an old guy with less than 20 years to live probably isn't the best financial decision for me to make. I din't mind giving her 300kbht, I can afford that much of a loss. Better for a Thai bank to take the risk on the other 1M7 on my house IMHO. If I get chucked out (been in it 8 years now), I no longer need to pay the 9k/month mortgage repayments.
  16. I don't believe EV is cost effective at this point in time. I tend to walk or cycle at no expense at all. Failing that my scooter at 40Km/ltr doesn't cost much.
  17. I did the same thing, Deposit on the house 300kbht, Solar including batteries 100kbht. Hardly millions ............
  18. I'm doing OK on 40-50k/month with a woman, 2 kids and a mortgage (3 bed house).
  19. If I can remember my childhood (15+) in the 1970s UK. Smoking pot and drinking alcohol ........ yes. Trying to have sex with girls .......... yes (and failing miserably) And the 13+yo girls were all 'chasing the dragon' in the school toilets of a lunch time. You appear to have led a very sheltered youth!
  20. I've not left Thailand since the COVID silliness began. But for holidays in Vietnam I always bought insurance online from AXA.
  21. Bank or ATM. Thai debit cards work in Viet ATMs.
  22. Well, here in Chiang Mai it's been the wettest, coolest year I've ever experienced. I'd actually like the UK climate to be warmer/hotter all year round, if it were I might consider returning.
