  1. I prefer my local coffee shop, hot Latte = 55bht.
  2. I don't think 'friends' is the right word, women aren't my friends.
  3. All the bars I visit want twice the price for the locals drinks (aka lady drinks).
  4. I have very good business sense ......... which essentially made me enough money to not work past age 45 for the rest of my life.
  5. As far as I can see the only additional costs for a full Vs empty room would be cleaning materials and electricity (almost nothing). Presumably you would still pay staff wages whether empty or full. And the full room would generate extra income from food, drinks and trip bookings.
  6. Inertia, same as for all of us. If I wasn't already here, I wouldn't be coming. Vietnam is a far better tourist destination IMHO.
  7. They (DSLAM/MSAN?) usually have battery backup, I lose grid power all the time but my internet still works without interruption. https://www.facebook.com/NS.net/photos/a.699290313417141/944921128854057/?type=3 "Typical outdoor MSAN cabinet consists of NarrowBand (POTS), BroadBand (xDSL) services, batteries with rectifiers, optical transmission unit and copper distribution frame."
  8. Cos there aren't many expats owning hotels in Thailand.
  9. Not really appropriate to this forum then. OPs English did seem a bit odd.
  10. I've always found booking cheaper through a booking company than direct with the hotel. Sometimes I can pay cash for additional days when in the room, but often they want more than through the booking company. It's a mystery to me! Can't say I care if the hotel is making money or not, I'm only concerned about me.
  11. Why make things so hard for yourself? Book using Agoda/Booking.com/Airbnb like everyone else. No need to ever deal with flaky owners.
  12. Well I bought a whole house UPS good for 16hrs if no solar and no grid. Only 100,000bht.
  13. Would you be able to speak their language?
  14. Yep, you just reminded me to take them.
  15. Yep, hand is fine but broken clavicle means arm can't support any weight and can't be raised above shoulder. Asked doctor about surgery Xmas morning at hospital, but he says still early days and need to wait longer. Total bummer as I can't drive and can only go out if wife or a pal drives me.
  16. Right arm doesn't work, but everything else fixed now. Managed 3km walk this aft. Still waiting for the court case.
  17. First 2/3 good. Last 1/3 a different film tagged on the end.
  18. 2nd hand 40KwHr Leaf cells are selling for 8000 pounds in the UK. Hardly inexpensive. 40KwHr of new NMC batteries cost 4000 pounds. Where are the savings, this is just a puff piece to justify the wastage caused by used EV batteries. Essentially misinformation.
  19. It's interesting how much some people fear their governments. I've always found the authorities (everywhere) to be lazy and incompetent.
  20. I think the government tells researchers what to study and the results they would like to receive, then the researchers make a report with the desired results.
  21. Hasn't harmed my rabbits, and they get injections of it every year or two.
  22. If it's such a serious offence, why has nobody ever been charged?
  23. You're wrong, they have no idea if you're in or out of the country. The police used to regularly knock on doors looking for me, if they'd had info I was out of the country, they wouldn't waste their time.
