  1. Did he forget to do his 90 day report?
  2. Those who give up freedom, to gain security, deserve neither!
  3. My income is the same here as it is in the UK. I don't really care what other people get!
  4. Worthless diverse junk, none of the actors were hired for their acting ability. Starving people end up eating each other but won't eat a dead horse.
  5. You still haven't answered how often you change your mask? I'm still using the same mask I was given at the start of COVID in March 2020. Would also point out surgeons don't touch their masks ever, touching = new mask required.
  6. I always say "Today is a good day to die" when I go out. (After watching 'The Outlaw Josey Wales'/'Little Big Man')
  7. Didn't Charlie want to be Camilla's tampon? Sounds more perverted than Andrew to me!
  8. Mainly to avoid blood splatter IMHO. But you deliberately only partially quoted me. Wearing a new mask every hour is completely different to wearing the same dirty mask for a week. How often do you replace the mask you wear? Every hour?
  9. I despise myself, and can assure you it's never a problem.
  10. And in a previous answer from a surgeon .......... The oxygen levels in the OR are raised to offset the increased CO2 caused by the mask. The mask is replaced with a new mask every hour. And it's totally different to a person wearing a mask outside for 8hrs a day and keeping the same mask for 2 weeks.
  11. Using your logic the locals should get longer jail sentences than tourists, as they have much more spare time in Thailand.
  12. AirBnB usually has some good offerings.
  13. Went there a few years back. Nice beach, shallow slope into the sea, nice water ....... too many bitey sandflies. Evening restaurants set out on the sand was nice in the evenings. About 10 restaurants to choose from on the beach where I was staying. But only me, my gf and about 4 other customers, almost completely deserted after the day trippers had left (around 5pm).
  14. 1. Never pay up front. 2. Get the bus or train to town. Be thankful you only paid 2,500bht! Happened to me when I used Booking.com.
  15. Topping up is all done by phone (three phone calls to two different agencies). One tells you what additional NI contributions you can pay https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs/contact/national-insurance-enquiries-for-employees-and-individuals The other confirms those payments will make a difference to your pension payout. https://www.gov.uk/future-pension-centre Then back to the HMRC to confirm would like to make a payment. HMRC will ask if you contacted the Future Pensions Centre. HMRC then give you a reference code to use when paying by bank transfer. 20 days later you can phone them back to manually enter your payment into your records. If you wait for them to do it automatically it can take 6 months. Would point out buying years before the New Pension Scheme in 2016 is usually worthless, buying years after 2016 generally will add approx 4.5GBP/week per year purchased to your state pension until you hit the maximum. I did all this last year using a 10GBP Skype credit calling their UK numbers.
  16. Go woke, go broke! https://nypost.com/2023/03/11/silicon-valley-bank-pushed-woke-programs-ahead-of-collapse/ "While Silicon Valley Bank collapsed, top executive pushed ‘woke’ programs" "Jay Ersapah, the boss of Financial Risk Management at SVB’s UK branch, launched initiatives such as the company’s first month-long Pride campaign and a new blog emphasizing mental health awareness for LGBTQ+ youth."
  17. Old people like me often think about the past, we lived most of our lives there!
  18. Bàng em for a couple of days then on to the next one. Sounds ideal!
  19. 1. Gary isn't employed by the BBC, he has no employment contract with them. 2. The BBC contract restricting 'opinions' is only applied to news and current affairs staff. It does not apply to sports and entertainment staff.
  20. The person who did me most harm in my life was my Brit wife of 30 years.
  21. In no particular order .......... Stomach cancer (age 49), Aids (age 59), abdominal aneurysm (age 63), 2x fall in shower (age 60+), fall off balcony (age unknown), liver failure (37), m/c crash (age 50+), fell in the moat (age 50+) died a week or 2 after, stroke (age 70) (Dave2 on this forum). Not sure if I should include NancyL we went to Thai reading/writing classes together.
  22. Seen loads of shanties/leantos around CM. Guess op isn't that observent. Most obvious is the huts on the way up to the back of the zoo. Also around the back of the 'long park' (Kanchanaphisek Park) across from the moat corner exercise park.
  23. Be happy you've made it to 60, most of my pals haven't. That's my policy, made it to 67 so every extra day is good. I will accept death when it comes. No cancer treatment or chemo (beyond remove of spots) for me, it just doesn't appear worthwhile.
