  1. "Having to deal" sounds like you think looking after your children is a chore! I've always had very well behaved kids with a minimum effort, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  2. The Radleys Just released, vampire family pretending to be normal, trailer looks good.
  3. Guys it's the school holidays, all the government schools have already been closed for a week and not due to reopen until the end of the month.
  4. Had dinner at Casita Mexican restaurant last night 3 tacos, a coke and a free plate of chips and dips for 260bht. Not that expensive (£6.50). Couldn't finish the free plate, too full. I often eat at Rajdarbar Indian restaurant, same price for chicken jalfrezi, naan bread and a coke. Then there's the Au de Auf German buffet, again at the same price. Can't beat eating out in Chiang Mai for good value food. Pre dinner Leo at the jungle bar (next to mad dog) 80bht, post dinner beer at the moat house rooftop bar with some Thai guitarist singing Oasis songs another 80bht. Around £10 for a night out!
  5. "Binary discussion" ....... But you're not woke!
  6. You think the "wokes" understand the world? While I think those that can't tell men from women have no grip on reality.
  7. Do dads really do that? My dad never did, and I never have either. Think you've never had kids and believing the Hallmark channel.
  8. Had my first 2 in my early 30s, another 2 in my early 40s, and another one at 53. They are all physically and mentally fine ......... now I'm 68 and my youngest just turned 13. Didn't see much of the first 4 as too busy working. I'm around for my youngest 24/7.
  9. Slightly off topic, One good result during the flooding ...... Couldn't get my usual Friday night eatery, Rajdarbar Indian restaurant in LK. So tried La Casita Mexican restaurant in Ratvithi road, it was very good, free chips and dips, 3x soft tacos and a coke for 260bht. Couldn't eat all the chips.
  10. Was in town last night, at 8pm the roads going past wat Fa Ham were all flooded and blocked to traffic down to Au Der Auf, Loi Krow was flooded from the river to the boxing ring. Couldn't see the night bazaar as the water was too deep. I've never seen it this bad before.
  11. Jewish is Semite aka Arabic, so not white. About as white as Obama.
  12. You assume he could read? Quite a lot of the Hill Tribe people living in that area never went to any school.
  13. 250bht for 250gm, (Food Variety or BritiShop) not that expensive seeing it lasts months.
  14. Rebel ridge was a non violent rip on First Blood. Almost unwatchable, poor acting, poor fight scenes worthy of the Hallmark channel. If anyone claims it was good ..... they've been paid to say that. But I'm hopeful for today's new releases, I just downloaded, A movie version of the TV series Salem's Lot, and another horror Hold your Breath (1930s dustbowl setting). And new releases of old movies Kull the Conqueror, and Caligula X rated version.
  15. Not white, so not part of white culture.
  16. So you slam us for not regularly visiting our countries of birth, when you haven't been back to yours for 30+ years!
  17. Was that before or after JF banged Marilyn? Or before or after Bill did Monica?
  18. I thought you were from Serbia? Can't believe you go back every year.
  19. Good find @IvorBiggun2, if the average time people collect their pensions is 8 years, that puts the average age at death in the UK around 73 years old. Which much more matches my experience of death age than that suggested by UK government statistics.
  20. Wrong, I used to watch Corry, Emmerdale and East Enders, yet here I am.
  21. Hotel and night club lobbies were popular sites for ATMs in Barretto. I would just search for 'ATM' on Google Maps to find them. Most of them worked, although not during the daily power cuts. As for other cards, ATMs do sometimes take a card and keep it, hard if you only have one.
  22. Using any debit cards in PI ATMs is dead easy. Take your Thai debit card as well as your US card, just in case!
  23. Would have thought most Brit expats ended up in Canada or Australia, sexpats in Thailand would be a trivial number out of all the pensioner expats. Also plenty of Brits that moved overseas to be with their kids (who had emigrated), after retirement. Don't forget the workers that came from the west Indies (Et al) then took their pensions back home with them.
  24. Of topic ........ Says daughter of a friend, not Gummer's daughter. @Enoon you beat me to it!
  25. Tried for lunch at KhuaLek cafe today, closed due to flooding. My misses insisted we immediately left the area as it was too dangerous. Ended up having a fish burger at Chester's in Airport plaza as being closest to immigration for after lunch.
