  1. How did they know his Ed VISA was to learn Thai? Maybe he attended Muay Tai lessons, and one of the immigration officers should have fought him?
  2. You should get to test their English skills in return, they all attended school English lessons for 8+ years (and passed each year).
  3. Just saw 3 prettier girls than the OP photo but without any enhancements. One at a food stall selling fried chicken, hair in pigtails (age 30+), 2 buying from the food stalls (MaeJo uni students). The women entering these competitions just aren't anything special in Thailand.
  4. Did your baggage contain anything worth stealing? They don't open baggage at random, these days it's all high tech X-ray first.
  5. None available in Thailand as far as I can see. Also the DIYSolarforum Crossy mentioned are US based, prices and availability are way different in Thailand. They estimate $245 per 1kWhr of storage (USA), I've paid around $150 per 1kWhr of usable storage (Thailand). Here is a BYD pack 24V @ 200AH(no BMS) for 25,000bht (add BMS 4kbht). https://www.lazada.co.th/products/byd-lifepo4-byd-1p8s-24v-200ah-bms-i3331661657-s12364925493.html Doesn't look new to me. But at best 200 x 24 = 4.8kWhr -20% (cos you can only use 10% to 90%) = 4kWhr of usable storage at best new condition. Works out at $240 per 1kWhr of usable storage. Then you've got the Must powerwall at 75,000bht https://www.lazada.co.th/products/must-10kwh-ess-tesla-powerwall-48v-200ah-lifepo4-battery-hybrid-grid-home-solar-energy-storage-system-i2777108044-s10101632895.html This one is new, but 48v @ 200AH = 9.6kWhr (-20% you can't use = 7.6kWhr). That's $310 per 1kWhr of usable storage.
  6. First photo looks a bit big in the hip area for me. I prefer spinners.
  7. Not in Thailand, and you don't know if the batteries going into those packs are new, rejects or 2nd hand.
  8. I was paying $22-$24 inc for the used Sinopoly green 100AH batteries. Had to buy 20 (15kbht) to get a decent 48V 16s 100AH matched pack. I was paying $44 inc ffor the CALB blue 200AH batteries. Had to buy 18 (27kbht) to get a decent 48V 16s 200AH matched pack. I think the 2nd hand 100AH batteries are the way to go, if money is tight, as you can just add more in parallel later to your existing BMS to make a 'powerwall', and you can also team up the worst batteries you get stuck with the best to get reasonable pairs.
  9. If I did it again I'd have purchased the battery pack in my OP. Although I've learned a bit about building battery packs, an it hasn't cost me any more, so it wasn't a completely wasted experience.
  10. I thought it was the country of choice for kiddy fiddlers.
  11. I had sex with a selection of Filipino women, no regrets. I always told them I was a Catholic so I didn't need to wear a condom. (Oddly enough, that also works in Vietnam)
  12. I lived on a housing estate 15Km South of Chiang Mai ...... free under 150 units. I now live on an estate 12Km North of Chiang Mai ....... not free under 150 units. Depends on how your house/area is classed and the meter. @Red Forever my last month bill 92 units, 372bht.
  13. Below 150 units in rural areas is free.
  14. Open 4 accounts ................... around 2,400bht/month.
  15. As a foreigner, I can't get credit in Thailand, so it's not something I worry about.
  16. 38bht.
  17. I cook liver and onions myself. But I'm a bit put off by liver being the same price as pork. I'm used to liver being much cheaper.
  18. Doesn't matter what I want, immigration recycle the backs of our completed forms and hand them out randomly. As for identity theft, you wouldn't want to be using mine for anything.
  19. I doubt there's enough of us to matter one way or the other.
  20. One day my girlfriend was having a complete meltdown while driving the scooter, me on the back. Crazy shouting and swerving, as I didn't feel like falling off, I turned the key off and took it out. Still crazy shouting and jumping, so I restrain her by pinning her arms to her side. As she's wiggling and screaming, two Thai guys come up and ask if she needs some help with the foreigner. I let go, and she promptly jumps off the scooter, runs to the side of the road and picks up a rock. The Thai guys run off, with her chasing them and waving the rock in the air. Completely forgot about being angry with me, funniest thing I ever saw!
  21. Do I care if a 'hacker' steals my 90 day report information? Or submits a 'fake' 90 day report on my behalf? Always wonder at the paranoia of people demanding security on things that don't matter. Anyway, Nobody has explained why my online application was rejected, but that same application printed out and submitted in person was perfectly acceptable?
  22. Mine too ........ so I printed it out and took it to immigration where it was accepted. Madness!
