I've never done any research about a holiday trip. Would suggest the lady was behaving entirely normally to just pay for a holiday and expect to have it. It's a product currently being sold to the unwary in their home countries. Maybe some of you should be examining your nasty reactions to innocent holidaymakers.

The only thing remarkable about it is the $700 price tag and the number of 1* reviews. Amazon don't even bother to say what formats it can display.

Not me, I gave up my 1,000+ fiction collection when I left for Thailand. Been fully digital since then, Had a Nook ...... it broke. Had an early Kindle ....... died from fat battery. Read on my phone ........ hurt my eyes. Now on a newer Kindle .......... best of the bunch. All fiction, free from Z Library and Mobilism. But I'm not a Thai, so it doesn't count in this thread which is about Thais reading. Never seen a Thai reading a novel for pleasure on any medium. Maybe having no spaces puts them off?

Beer bar scene has been gone for almost two years. With no sign of any return. As for OP, agree, never seen a Thai reading a book for pleasure. My kids are forced to read books for school/university, but they'd prefer not to. When I go to the government hospital, hundreds of Thais, just me reading (Kindle). When I sit in the park, dozens of Thais, just me reading.

Retirement VISA in Cambodia $300/year, no other requirements, as easy as anywhere. Alcohol much cheaper than Thailand. Why isn't it easy to have a much younger wife/gf? My pal moved from PP to Kep because of COVID, a girl from a (closed) bar followed him down and lives with him just for living expenses as she could no longer make a living in PP.

Who'd dare travel? Two weeks prison if you fail a test on arrival. Flights randomly cancelled by both governments and airlines. You home country may not allow you back. Have to be mad to go on a foreign holiday this year!

The people that had the surgery aren't selling it very well IMHO, pain and suffering! On the other hand, I've almost recovered after 2 years of herbs and medicine. And no 500,000bht hospital bill, I pay around 250bht every 3 months (inc meds). Seeing as I probably only have 5 years left (10 at the outside), I'd have to be crazy to have the operation.

This gal bit through our fibre 3-4x in two months, 3BB were always round within 24hrs, but we gave the guy 100bht to keep him keen. This girl is very good at climbing and jumping ............... and chewing through wires ........

I'd suggest near the river walk (Riverside Park). $500 for an apartment looking out on the river, $250 a street away from the river. Don't know what it's like in COVID times, but it was really nice just before. I used to walk/jog along the river walk every morning and evening.

Rimping stock molasses but very expensive. I substitute with their Thai product 'Caramelised cane syrup' which tastes and looks exactly the same for a fraction of the price.

My $50 glasses are not like that at all, and I have a fairly strong prescription +astigmatism. Metal frames that last forever, poly isn't thick, and I have wobbly nose pads. (I always choose 1 level below the poly that's recommended by Zenni, as I don't notice any difference) I've always found coatings a waste of money. Way better than the 8,000bht glasses I bought in Thailand. The frames on those broke in less and a year. And the lens were exactly the same thickness. The only difference I could tell between the $50 and 8,000bht glasses ........ The $50 ones had noticeably better quality frames.

Sorry can't get enthusiastic about a guy banging a 17 year old, no crime IMHO paid or not. Princes, rock stars, movie stars, politicians are all doing it all the time. Doubt any of them ever had to pay, although some 3rd party may be handing over cash. As for his reputation, it's gone up in my opinion, I always thought he was gay.

Agree, I live for me now but am happy enough for others to join my ride. For those sharing my ride, it's my way or the highway.

My rellies don't speak Thai (in normal conversation), the ones in Nan speak Lanna, the ones in Lomsak speak Laos. Mother speaks some odd village language almost no other Thais understand. Why would I want to learn a language they don't speak with each other?
