  1. Whatever, this is becoming trite. As I stated before I didn't know that Toyota made and EV. I also stated I have never seen one on the roads. Your above data explains why. About a whopping 1% of Toyotas sold are EVs. 1% might seem substantial for you but to me it seems quite tiny. No big deal and just a disagreement of sorts. Cheers
  2. yep, I probably should drop it. Love and kisses all around. Vince is still a bore though. You are entertaining so keep at it...
  3. You're a smart guy and realize there are other factors. Auto sales in Thailand are off substantially this year. Also to what extent did the EV incentives initiated 2023 have when comparing 2023 to 2024? I don't know the answer but definitely a factor during the end of 2023. Globally EV sales are growing around 11% but ICE sales are down. Am I missing something? Sometimes beliefs get in the way of factual data. Could be me or possibly you.
  4. Well Toyota doesn't include them in their EV numbers. Again you know that or are obtuse. Below is your reply to mine. You are obviously combining their hybrid sales in their EV sales number. Now you are just stammering nonsense because that is what you do. Your reply: Toyota have been selling EV's from 1997 "In 2023, Toyota Motor Corporation sold approximately 3.68 million electrified vehicles (EVs) worldwide" BTW, you added The (EV) after the electrified vehicles. Silly yes but it is what you do. 1% of Toyota cars sold are EVs and this is using their numbers . Hence the reason I have never seen one on the roads 🙂
  5. Then your post wasn't made in good faith like many of your posts. You seem to enjoy it so keep at it. Below is Toyota's top selling EV in Thailand this year. They are kicking butt 🙂 Little different than the the claim you made. The original post was in regards to EVs but you know that already. At least the Expatoil guy has a sense humor, you are a bore.
  6. There are some good people here at Aseannow but there are also fools that have no idea how insulting other races is disgusting. I just mostly let it go. Empathy applies to losers too!
  7. Have a non-o based on retirement and live in Ubon. I used up my last re-entry stamp last week and am leaving for America next month. Debating going to Vientiane next week without a re-entry stamp which will cancel my Non-O. Then apply for a DTV. I go to sporting events (Marathons) around Thailand throughout the year and I'm guessing this will meet the requirements. If not I can always re-apply for a Non-O. The 500k savings is not an issue.
  8. The certificate of residence is my worry also since I want to buy a new car in the next few months. The OP used his pink card which most of us don't have. Happy for him but wish he had a certificate of residence 🙂
  9. Think you are referring to hybrids not EVs? Am I wrong? The articles in the OP was in regards to EVs.
  10. Toyota makes an EV? That is news to me and amazing that sales are dropping when they had almost no sells to begin with. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't remember seeing one Toyota EV.
  11. Easy to do with their own citizens but near impossible with non-citizens. We aren't the target and the many Thais that are dodging taxes are the target. If we get caught up in any new tax law the it will more than likely just be a pain in the butt but without incurring financial losses. Those expats that are also dodging taxes here might have a reason to fear new regs. Wait and see is my stance and have a good laugh watching others lose it!
  12. Been a while since I lived in America but it wasn't much different. Most Welsh didn't homestead BTW. Don't you think Mexican's wished they could homestead? Anyhow, I agree with you - I think. Create more secure borders and restrict access to those that can contribute to bettering America as a whole. Life isn't fair.
  13. That is what I do but the sneaky ones have got me twice while jogging over the last 25 years and another time on a bike when I thought I was faster than the mutt. Rabie shots are only a small inconvenience compared to 50 years ago so not a big deal.
  14. Right or wrong it is hard for me to not feel sad for him. Hope his 8 years here were good and wish him the best.
  15. Kind of but if it isn't authentic and the guy is trying to be macho man, then it will end in pain. We've all seen the softies back home come to Thailand and try to be the MAN. It's pathetic. Know yourself! I'm an independent risk taker and my partner is over the top independent. Perfect match 🙂 Figure out her needs and your wants and make a decision. Pretty simple approach and works for 1 nighters or "the one". The latter takes lots of luck and effort.
  16. Just when the old threads were getting boring! My last post on the part 2 thread was I can only hope someone will post another ambiguous tax article so everybody will lose their shttt. It has happened 🙂 BTW, do you guys know most countries expats here come from have taxes on global income for residents. So when is everybody leaving? Yawn but then again this is SUPER entertaining.
  17. Which you will get with a DTV after your first 90 report? Nobody has done a 90 day report with a DTV so I could be wrong. Wait and see...
  18. Wow, that is great news. I'll probably get CoR before applying next week just in case. It is good for a year I think. Not 100% sure they issue CoR's in Ubon without a reason but I guess I'll find out.
  19. The link above is missing 🙂 You can apply in Vientiane and I conformed this already.
  20. Thanks and all the above makes sense. Not concerned about reapplying for new NON-O because the process isn't difficult. My only concern is my ability to purchase a car which I plan on doing soon and not being able to get a residency permit with a DTV. Someone else brought up getting a yellow book but looked into that and it would probably be near impossible in the sticks where I live. Debating buying a car before switching to a DTV and before selling my existing car.
  21. In a way yes. Money wasn't a concern but maybe it should have been. The money was in the account for years and that is why they were probably more pushy.
  22. Yes, they always asked (not forced) why not switch to a retirement. It is easier but the marriage is quite easy too.
  23. I didn't think of this option. I'm not officially married. Can you get a yellow house book/pink card on a retirement visa? I have a drivers license already but think the yellow book would enable me to put the new car in my name.
  24. Yep - that is why I switched from marriage to Retirement but thinking this year I'll go with the DTV because of my travel plans that hopefully become a reality 🙂
  25. Thanks - was hoping that was the case.
