Agree 100 % you should not be getting any leaks but T.I.T I have done the full lung blow and thought it worked but didn't better is a full lung pressure washer blow for quite a while..the slime/mould that grows in the evaporator water pipe is quite resilient dead gecko,cockroach and ants included.

Getting the unit cleaned is a good idea for efficiency/ electricity cost, ants, geckos,cockroaches don't really care..they just seem to like the EM fields.

Get a helmet with integrated "sun visor" no need for sunglasses my flip face Real Orbit, Cosmos has built in sun visor works really well flip on /off from a switch on the side of the helmet.

2 ways, take off specs first the put on the full face helmet then insert the specs yes can be a bit of a pain. Or get a "flip face" helmet flip up the chin guard bit whist fully wearing specs insert head whilst gently expanding the 2 side ear lobes just a bit so they don't interfere with your ears/spectacles then flip down the chin guard bit they cost a bit more but I like them. also good to open chin guard at the traffic light for more ventilation full face and open face in one go.

You need something like this pointed at you local transmitter and coaxial cable connection between the antenna an the DVBT2 box

I've never had one in mine "but never say never" I suppose they can crawl up the evaporation water outlet and find their way indoors like the cockroaches I put a U bend in my water outlet and think it works to prevent insects/geckos but maybe promotes a bit more of the slimy goop that causes the pipe to block up and flood the bedroom at dead of night I also have a drip pan under the air con to catch any condensation leaks in the dead of night.

I would say a well designed board should have minimal heat and if unavoidable then provide a heat sink exposed from the potted board again I suspect that there are many built in failures and obsolescence's

My cynical mind suggests that they make much more profit supplying replacement boards..or total replacement systems IE: built in obsolescence. (via proxy gecko and ant attack )

That is a DVBT2 box to use it you would also need to plug in an external old style aerial/antenna pointed at the local transmitter and tune to the local MUX's. A couple of the channels have an option to select "original" language mono29 , True4you ? sometimes Thai PBS.

In the latest aircon adverts they advertise as a feature "anti geckos" I wonder (only very slightly) why they don't "pot" their circuit boards (pot is to encase in a waterproof resin as found on many automotive components)

I believe that is correct and they do check the visa at the Pattaya/Barnglamung office. I also believe you can get the residence certificate even if you are staying at a hotel but have no direct experience or tried that.

At the Pattaya/Banglamung office the online video training is mandatory now..no choice of watching the video at the office ( at least for us "dirty foreigners" ) I must say that the experience there was much better this time than 6 years ago when it was very crowded and hectic mayhem in every department...they now have tents for people to wait outside not crowding the building and so its much more relaxed inside...no more need for the megaphone which rests quietly on the shelf all conversations at normal levels... beware that to pay the licence fee they only take the good ole cash money none of that new fangled "scan" stuff 👍 For my medical certificate I made the "mistake" of going to "Wat Yarn" hospital where it was a bit of a long drawn out process involving having blood pressure taken at the auto machine x 2 as mine was high due to white coat syndrome a lunch break and then actually seeing a doctor who asked numerous questions and for the physical check he asked me to roll up my trouser leg which he looked at from where he sat about half a meter away I joked with him that the leg was very white and he agreed signed the papers I then had more waiting for a nurse to put the "Official" stamp of approval on the certificate and that was half a day wasted..next time go to the early evening clinic and not an actual hospital !! My wait was 12 days.. It will of course vary but they only process 100 foreigner drivers licences per day according to the sign at the affice.

"They" have installed fiber optic cables to every room/apartment in your condo ? probably not hence the need to pay for the installation, 300 meters might not be from entry point into the condo it may be from some server cabinet a few kilometers away (unlikely in a very built up area but possible) The most important point is to have the fiber optic cable and Modem/ONT installed directly to your room and not in the condo "server room" from which they most likely only have coax or "worse" twisted pair phone lines installed to every room. This is one of the problems at many condo buildings where the "management" company can be very difficult or stubborn on certain issues insisting that only their "authorised" contractors can carry out work in the building and is why I suggested looking at the cellular 5G option. Anyway enough waffle from me what do I know ?
