  1. Are you saying that the Hua Hin BluPort immigration agreed to issue you a DTV? This would be a novelty.
  2. @lisaflisa On the page https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/page/cate-7394-types-of-visa?menu=5d68c88d15e39c160c00827f of the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and subsequent pages of the section "Types of Visas", I can find no mention of the DTV. It is probably somewhere else on that website but I don't know how to find it.
  3. A virtual tin foil hat. It would have been useful to know what Thai embassy issued the visa but seeing his extreme caution in revealing details I refrained from asking him.
  4. Thank you, @Sum Ting Wong, for posting you DTV arrival stamp. You applied on the basis of Muay Thay training, if I remember correctly.
  5. @jharr For background information on the KR.22, you can read this topic:
  6. @jharr From what you wrote it seems that you got married outside Thailand. Go with your foreign marriage certificate to your local district office and ask what documents they need to get the form KR.22. Best take a Thai person with you for interpretation. Then take two copies of this KR.22 to the immigration office for your extension of stay.
  7. You don't need new visa. With the acceptance letter and receipt from the university and other documents that immigration may require, apply for a one-year extension for the reason of studying at a university.
  8. There is no exemption for foreigners who entered with the DTV.
  9. Thank you, @walio, for your detailed report. Posts like yours are helpful to others who plan to apply for the DTV and I hope many others will report their experience with their embassy, as requirements may vary from one embassy to the next.
  10. If the letter from from your friend's employer states that he is working for the company online, that should satisfy the requirement for "remote worker"
  11. All Thai visas are valid for travel to Thailand from the "valid from" date shown on the eVisa or the visa sticker.
  12. Removed sn off-topic post about a bar stool.
  13. Retirement does not, by itself, qualify a foreigner for the DTV.
  14. Not all immigration offices handle it the same way. Unless your comment is about the Phuket immigration office, your post is off topic.

  18. If I am retired and for that reason live mostly in Thailand, the DTV is obviously not the right visa for me.
  19. I see the requirement of documents for the 180-day extensions as the only important question remaining open with the DTV. The existing Police Order for extensions needs to be amended or replaced before the first applications are made at immigration offices. Until then, it is a free for all for guesses, assumptions, speculations and expectations in this regard.
  20. Thank you for your report, @HauptmannUK. A useful example for others in a similar position. The embassy in London is handling the DTV well, from reports seen so far. Easy on the requirements, fast approval.
  21. I missed this. Where was it published? How much was the fine previously?
  22. "For traveling to Thailand by land and sea, UK ordinary passport holders are eligible for Visa Exemption Scheme with a maximum of twice in a calendar year." I see that the Thai embassy in the UK specifically mentions UK ordinary passport holders, but does it have its staff at the entry points to make sure that immigration officials enforce this?
  23. "…Foreigners entering Thailand by any means under the Visa Exemption scheme are required at the port of entry to have proof of planned travel (confirmed air, train, bus, or boat tickets) to leave Thailand within 60 days of the arrival date…" That's what the Thai embassy in the UK says on its website but does the embassy have its staff at Thai entry points to ensure that the immigration official enforce it?
  24. Will this mean an end to "fines" without receipts?
