  1. OK you did it somewhere, but not necessarily Bangkok Area 3, thanks. My experience so far is the DLT web site says you need an appointment booking. I tried the web site, no option for foreigner. I tried the DLT mobile queue app, where the option for foreigner register just doesn't work, but it does allow me to register and book an appointment using my foreign name and Thai ID# from yellow book. So I book and first available 1hr time slot is late September this year with 16 more spaces available in that time slot suggesting they process about 25 per hour and a wait time of 4.5 months. So I guess I'll just barge in with passport one day in meantime with a fake imminent flight reservation as you suggest and see if that speeds it up.
  2. At Bangkok Area 3 ? You have experience of this? Anyone know why online booking appointment is not available and what is procedure for sure?
  3. Less than that new bridge over the Chayao Praya river in Bangkok costs to build.
  4. If the new bridge is to be entirely for one direction traffic and the old the other direction it would be eight lane? I've never seen a map of it yet to see what the new bridge connects to.
  5. Just wasted my time registering for online queue and the Bangkok Area 3 office is greyed out - so online queue not available? Do I just turn up and get served, or does it involve two visits?
  6. You could be correct? Anyone know about Bangkok Area 3 office near Bang Chak BTS on Sukhumvit - anyone have experience of this? Where's the nearest med cert to be had? I read somewhere at another office you can get a motorcy taxi to go get one for you without even showing your face?
  7. These medical certs are not needed if renewing a 5 yr lic? At least they weren't last time I renewed my 5yr in Bangkok Area 3 DLT.
  8. I found it made a difference for me to KBank. If I chose long term stay the transfer came the next business day, whereas cancelling and re-choosing home expenses arrived in seconds.
  9. True, if you obtained your Pink ID prior to getting your Tax ID Number and you used your Pink ID to obtain your Thai Tax ID number. Otherwise, not necessarily true. For instance, my ID number on my Pink ID and Yellow Book is the same, but differs from my Thai Tax ID number on my Thai Tax ID card. This has never been a problem for me. I obtained my Thai Tax # using my Thai ID (Yellow book#) and the numbers are not the same. I don't have a Pink ID, but if I did the number would be same as Yellow Book.
  10. Well who's to say you are reading it correctly, or do you have some other source of info to confirm your interpretation? The government link you sent even has the Thai language which suggests a vaccine cert negates need for insurance if in transit to another country, which makes sense. I mean why would someone need 10kUSD insurance if vaccinated and just in transit not entering Thailand?
  11. But the reference you quote says "You do need proof of $10,000 medical insurance OR proof of being vaccinated." So I read it that insurance is not needed if vaccinated?
  12. Linux Mint just wouldn't start again a few weeks ago on an old 12 year laptop I have - primarily used as web browsing terminal these days with large ext monitor attached. I assumed it was faulty old hardware as even older Linux Mints that used to work no longer worked. Then I installed latest Ubunto and everything has worked fine ever since. Even updates now to 22.04 version works without any issues. The system runs faster, internet speeds are better and the hardware CPU stays cooler with less fan noise. I am finished with Mint and now a devoted Ubunto user!
  13. I had this situation as well but gave up trying to get a UK card as I don't live there any more. It seems the best place to get a credit card is from your current country of residence? So I ended up getting a Thai credit card.
  14. >>I tried to browse www.phuketimmigration.go.th using 4 different machines. Try http://www.phuketimmigration.go.th/index.php instead? They've put an insecure front page for a royal's birthday, so it doesn't open on some browsers.
  15. A colleague of mine has same issue as op and just plans to come in using the old system currently on display on Thailand Pass site.
  16. Very subjective as you say.. I am glad I am not you.
  17. Yes, Wise for me takes 5 seconds to KBank to get from a USD account in US.
  18. Thanks. Looking at list of global artists, definitely going to give this a miss.
  19. My laptop came with Win10 and upgraded to Win11 itself when auto updates had been enabled. Overall I prefer Win11 look and feel after getting used to the changes, some of which I don't like such as two layers of right click context menus of file explorer. I never use Edge or Bing that have been mentioned above. Always Firefox and other search engines for me. Office 2021 integrates well included the cracked version of Office. I only have issues with the screen snipping tool using multiple monitors (flashes all screens on/off during use), an issue that I had with Win10 that was sorted out but until now with Win11 hasn't been, probably related to my own hardware. I turned off Teams, Widgets as I never use them. I have occasionally had BSOD screens with the same error of what failed stornvme.sys - but it hasn't happened for a few weeks, and never happened with Win10. It takes about 5 minutes to save the data and reboot normally. This is the only annoying Win11 feature if there was one for me. I run Linux on other PCs and would stick with Linux if I didn't need so many Windows based applications.
