  1. I responded to a poster who asked where the photo was taken, not where the bones were found.
  2. Yes, I remember that poll. It was published in the Thai Enquirer a while back. And here's another interesting factoid, closer to home. In another recent tax thread, one of our flock, @MikeandDow posted: 'They will have to be knocking on my door before i fill out any of there (sic) BS'. That one post received 68 'I agree' emojis (1 of them was mine) and 37 other positive emojis. I think that's the biggest reaction I've seen on this forum for many a year. So we know what the sentiment is on this forum. It's right at the top of page 1.
  3. Enlighten me. What is the penalty for NOT having sufficient assessable income to warrant filing a tax return?
  4. That doesn't worry me in the least as 1.5% of nothing is nothing!
  5. We have a mother and two of her offspring that hang around our house and I know that one of her litter were borne in our roof space. But there's no way I would call them pets. They are borne and bred 'outdoor cats' and are atypical scroungers. I feed them a small quantity of dry cat meal and leave them to fill their bellies the natural way. The wife moans about them sometimes but my retort is always 'do you ever see any rodents in the house?' As far as milk is concerned, never. Most cats are lactose intolerant and should only ever drink water. https://www.purina.co.uk/articles/cats/feeding/guides/what-do-cats-drink#:~:text=cats drink milk%3F-,Is milk bad for cats%3F,only be fed in moderation.
  6. Thank you for your input guys. I do understand the difference between the two methods, having been on both myself. It was the use of the word 'block' I was querying. I cannot accept that any office or IO would 'block' someone's application for a marriage extension simply because it caused them extra work! It's their job isn't it.
  7. Why would any office want to block a marriage based extension?
  8. Well, I slightly disagree with what you say @rough diamond. It's possible, just possible that Trump was being genuine, after all he has said so many times that he wants this war ended. The meeting fell apart when that Pit Bull, otherwise known as Vance let rip and from there on it was all down hill. Afterall we cannot possibly have the POTUS and his Vice disagreeing in public can we.
  9. This is the only sensible answer so far. We are from different countries, having a variety of DTAs, each with their own nuances. We may have become knowledgeable regarding our own situations, but that doesn't mean we can offer any meaningful advice to others. And that's been the problem all along on this forum, too many pseudo 'experts', throwing in a bit of advice here and a bit more over there, until it's all become total mishmash. I've sorted mine out now and I feel confident in the knowledge that I do not need to file a tax return and I won't be doing so. But that's me, You, @John Hansen are in a completely different situation.
  10. I just completed this quiz. My Score 16/100 My Time 178 seconds
  11. That could give the World a glimmer of hope, except for one thing. We've now seen the 'nature of the beast' that's waiting in the wing, just one 'heartbeat away' as they say.
  12. How Trump’s compulsion to dominate sabotages dealmaking, undermines democracy and threatens global stability. A very thought provoking and scary article from 'The Conversation'. (apologies for the length of the link) https://theconversation.com/how-trumps-compulsion-to-dominate-sabotages-dealmaking-undermines-democracy-and-threatens-global-stability-251210?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Latest from The Conversation for March 4 2025 - 3284533518&utm_content=Latest from The Conversation for March 4 2025 - 3284533518+CID_8634f8a1a4f866a515339ae0fb4425b9&utm_source=campaign_monitor_global&utm_term=How Trumps compulsion to dominate sabotages dealmaking undermines democracy and threatens global stability
  13. I'm quite sure that if they bring the right experts in, that building can be dropped using explosives. Plenty of Demolition videos on Youtube.
  14. Bike is short for bicycle, which rolls off the tongue quite nicely. Trike is short for tricycle, which likewise also rolls off the tongue. But Quadickle? No, it just doesn't work does it. Hence the universally accepted term 'quad bike'. Paradoxical, but that's they way it is. And no, not quad ATVs. They are designed to be 'off road' vehicles, as many others have pointed out. ATV would imply otherwise.
  15. Suit yourself, but I can still bring it up whenever I want to. And I've even tested it to see if it works. It does!
  16. @rough diamond That menu bar appears if you use the 'magnifier' function on Win 11. Press Ctrl+ until it appears. Press Ctrl- until it disappears again. I've never actually used it.

  18. There, fixed it for you. All you have to do toggle over to English in the top righthand corner. (I can't do that for you) http://air4thai.pcd.go.th/webV3/#/StationDetail
  19. Try getting a bit adventurous with your mouse!
  20. Simply look at that the situation map on Air4Thai. http://air4thai.pcd.go.th/webV3/#/Home
  21. It's probably down to the availability of a forensic pathologist to carry out the autopsy. It's a legal requirement in most countries when a 'suspicious death' occurs, why not Thailand?
  22. A villager pinned a swastika flag on the front of his house sometime back. It didn't bother me as others have said, he wouldn't be aware of its significance. In fact an AI overview says: 'The swastika originates from ancient India, where the term "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit language and means "well-being" or "good fortune"; it has been used for millennia by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains as a sacred symbol'. However, we do occasionally get a visitor from Germany who is married into a family here, so I had my wife explain to our Phu Ya Ban (her nephew) that it might be offensive to him. Sure enough it was moved to a less obvious position.
  23. nd 'The One That Got Away' is on iPlayer. I've just watched the 2nd episode this evening. 'Virdee' also on iPlayer is a good series as well. I've just finished watching that one. There's a good, if rather long winded review here. https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a63583773/virdee-bbc-review/
