I don't have a TV and only watch programmes via my laptop. Like most of us around here my hearing has deteriorated so music, sadly is off the menu now. I use a pair medium priced blue tooth headphones which I find perfectly adequate for TV programmes and films. The battery seems to have quite a long life. It hasn't died on me yet, although I have to say I don't spend that much time sat watching programmes. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i1835746957-s5546730097.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1

I don't know why you would think that there are no specialist staff in Singapore. Changi is after all Scoot's home base! But I do agree with you that this was a problem with the ventilation/air con system. More specifically it was probably a cabin pressurization issue. The captain would have no choice but to turn back because he would be unable to take the aircraft up to the normal cruising altitude to join the flight corridor. The four loops would be to burn off fuel to get down to landing weight.

Anyone recently renewed their 5 year license?
Moonlover replied to Kenny202's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Legally your license is invalid for use once it expires. That's what expiry means. This was explained quite clearly when the moratorium on issuing licenses during the Covid era came to an end. However, once your new license is issued, you'll find that your 'right to drive' runs contiguously from the day that your original full license was issued way back when, so it's a bit of a grey area. If you want to play super safe have someone drive you to the DLT centre. This won't prevent you from getting a 'six year' license of course. That's why we all do it that way. -
Man Found Dead in Car with Running Engine in Pattaya
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
No, I'd say far less likely. That could only occur if a. the exhaust system was faulty and b. the ventilation system was set to 'fresh' rather than 'recycle'. Very little air enters the cab from the environment when it's set to 'recycle'. -
Man Found Dead in Car with Running Engine in Pattaya
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Many drivers here have the ventilation system set, permanently to 'recycle'. Without forward movement of the vehicle to bring in some fresh air, it is quite conceivable that there can be a dangerous buildup of CO2 and a lack of oxygen inside the cab. This has been reported on the forum previously when two ladies were found dead in their car. -
Thailand’s power usage reaches new high on May 6th due to hot weather
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Poorly worded I know, but refrigerators do have to work harder to maintain the desired temperature when the ambient temperature is high. I'm sure you know that, you're just being pedantic aren't you. -
Thailand’s power usage reaches new high on May 6th due to hot weather
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Our voltage dropped to 170 volts yesterday afternoon and finally gave up altogether around 3pm. We were without power for around 3 hours. Boy, were we hot! -
king Charles 111 !!!!!! If you want to wax lyrical about our newest monarch @BarraMarra do, at least take the trouble to get his title right! He is not the one hundred and eleventh of his namesake. King Charles III

Finnish man accused by neighbours of insulting Thai people
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
You might think that this is a common here, but amongst the Farangs who have taken to life in the small towns and villages, it most certainly is not! We live in peace and harmony with our hosts are almost always assimilate well. We've already had a clear indication of the type of 'Farang' that you encounter from your earlier, rather obnoxious post referenced below. It strikes me that you have no idea what life is really like for Farangs living here. P. S. You are now on my 'ignore user' list so do please don't bother replying. I won't see it. -

And there's often only one way to control a drunk and violent person as I'm sure any policeman well tell you. This idiot got what he deserved. -

Do security staff ever work singularly? They have a job to do and often a risky one at that, they're not there to decide what is a fair fight. -
Best solution for enlarged prostate that blocks urinating
Moonlover replied to Steven55's topic in Health and Medicine
Much of what to you say still make sense. I also seek alternative therapies and actually draw my inspiration from Traditional Chinese Medicine. But drinking urine is beyond the pale for me This 2 minute read was enough to convince me of its lack of efficacy. But whatever floats your boat as they say. -
I'm quite happy living in Thailand so long as I refrain from taking my motorcycle out at night. That's a bit scary.

My wife's son, who has served in the army for 9 years now and is a Master Sergeant assures me that they do NOT send conscripts down south. Only regular trained soldiers are sent on that duty. He personally does not have to serve down south because he is an artillery specialist and thus far they haven't started using Howitzers down there.

Best solution for enlarged prostate that blocks urinating

Nice to hear from you Xylophone, I do recall you mentioning self cathing a day or two back. I do feel that the urologist's advise regarding the bladder is sound. Although I have occasionally discharged a full 700ml, my feeling is that having the the bladder that full over a long period of time puts extra pressure on the kidneys. And a kidney issue is definitely something to be avoided! So I would rather make that extra bathroom visit. I keep a log of my catheter discharges and my average output is 395ml which I feel comfortable with. I can now feel if I'm getting a bit too bloated and will usually head straight out for a walk. I can usually take the pressure off that way. I live in the country so I can stop and dribble wherever I like. Glad to see that you're still enjoying a wee drop. My nightly comfort glass was whiskey/soda, but I had to quit that as it became obvious that it was causing issues. I might just try it again now that I've settled into this new routine. You're lucky by the way. When I asked our local (and only) urologist what self help I could utilize, he just clamed up. It seems that patients who wish to participate in their own treatment are not to his liking. Thanks for your very interesting posts. -
This is the AQ in Sakon Nakhon just now and actually this is what I regard somewhat high for this area. So no we are not suffocating up here in the NE at all.
