  1. This sounds like an extreme lovers tiff which happens in gay, straight and trans relationships. Hopefully the forensics will prove or disprove the explanations.
  2. If the RTP provided the evidence for an Interpol Red Notice, and the subsequent extradition proceedings, he could be arrested wherever he is found within the territory of the signatories.
  3. Any enforcement of the 0.2% THC limit will be a nightmare given the skill levels currently exhibited. Low contents plants look identical to high content plants The cork has come out of the bottle and I predict the country will become much more chilled and relaxed, but that road deaths will increase due to intoxication levels.
  4. I just hope they have updated the online 90 day reporting app to delete the requirement to fill in TM6 details.
  5. I’m same age as you, had 40 years collision free motorcycling in U.K., but after third non-fault one in Chiang Mai in six months (one drunk rider rear ended, one songtaew sudden lane change, one unlicensed woman on wrong side of road broke my wrist) decided to stick to Wave for short trips to 7/11, otherwise car. I once did a road trip with Keith, very skilled rider, RIP. Wonder if Chinese woman looked the wrong way as they drive on the right in China.
  6. I hate dual pricing, especially when a local in a Mercedes is charged 50 baht and I in my clunker am asked for 500. But the answer is simple, my family don’t patronize anywhere that does this, so they don’t make anything at all.
  7. Joe, as stated above they can both enter visa exempt (with insurance) and convert to non OA in country, can’t they?
  8. Immigration police in non-public facing positions eg admin, only wear uniform once per week, but have badged polo shirts to wear the other days, all of which they have to buy themselves. My kids in private school have multiple uniforms which change between kindergarten and primary, needing complete replacement. Why kids can’t have standard colours, eg grey shorts/white shirts, with no restriction on badging or branding, would allow parents to buy in supermarkets and eliminate school closed shop arrangement with supplier, I don’t know. Probably, like most of public life here, education is a business not a profession.
  9. Why can’t the uniforms all be of standard design and colour and sold everywhere in supermarkets? Also why do they have to be embroidered with name etc? This just adds to cost and prevents them being used by others when the child grows out of them. Another racket in Thailand.
  10. Fake detector pens and UV lights available on Lazada for 200 baht.
  11. How surprising, the police found a battery in her truck, similar to 100% of trucks here!
  12. The only improvement would come from a root and branch reorganisation. This would entail the establishment of a foreign police-led Independent Commission Against Corruption as they did in Hong Kong prior to 1997, with Government and public support. But I don’t think the will exists in Thai society to do this, so without external pressure from the UN or donor countries it’s not going to happen. The US probably sees Thailand as a useful buffer against Chinese expansion so will not want to rock the boat.
  13. That story does not say he stole the bike, only that he did not pay road tax. Where did you get the information it was stolen?
  14. If there was a serious intent to improve they would start training and licensing the bouncers as they do in the UK, where they can’t work without it. Could do it with the police as well. CCTV reveals many of their sins.
  15. As explained in this article Common ticketing between Blue, Purple and Red will pilot this month. When this is in operation your MRT card will allow fare payment for travel on and between these three lines. Initially I expect Red Line to have separate ticketing until the pilot is actually working. BTS Green Line (Rabbit) is not included in these arrangements as it is a private company and the others are Government owned and run. Negotiations to include Green have not been finalized, as far as I know.
  16. Maybe this is fallout from the scandal of the washing and exporting of pre used and contaminated rubber gloves.
  17. Arrived 6.15am got queue number 27 , for numbered chair outside Immigration office. 8.30am let us inside got queue number 5 for marriage extension. They supply 3 forms for you and wife to fill out regarding her guaranteeing your application and you acknowledging overstay penalties. Updated bank book at ATM downstairs with todays transaction but photocopy shop not open until after 7am. Many food stalls on the area in the centre where we all used to sit in socially distanced rows last year. This year only required one TM7 form/photo and original only of family photos. In and out in 15 minutes by 9.30am, now under approval process for one month, have to keep 400,000 baht minimum (or income equivalent 40,000 baht/month) in account until approved next month. Please note this is Bangkok and two copies of everything may still be required at other offices. I can post my successful list of documents/copies required if anyone needs it.
  18. The one thing that IKEA stores need is plentiful parking, unless they expect everyone to use their delivery service. I trust the parking will be available ‘in the heart of Bangkok’.
  19. Making it endemic does not mean free of the virus, just that they recognise it is here to stay and will deal with infections as they do other common virus infections.
  20. I would be interested to know if the ever investigate safety related fakes like car parts, tools, electrical goods, or do they just concentrate on articles suitable as Mia Noi gifts?
  21. First collision I had in Thailand was waiting at red lights on Canal Road in Chiang Mai 10pm on my Honda Wave. Struck at speed by drunk youth on similar sized bike. Minor damage to mine and somehow no injury. He broke his wrist and wrote his bike off. Cops hauled him off to hospital, I felt sorry for him after he apologised when sober and I paid his fine. I was just fortunate he was not driving a car or I would have been killed.
  22. That would be just the thing to revive the tourist industry if people were greeted with spliffs at the airport and wafted away to beach resorts playing Buddhah Bar music, where they could relax on sofas with those triangular cushions. Beautiful ladies could serve cannabis tea and cakes, with resin hookahs to finish as the sun slips beneath the horizon. After 14 chilled days they would be floated back to the airport and poured onto the planes with all their overpriced souvenirs, their wallets empty and their credit cards maxed. Are you listening TAT and khun Anutin?
  23. When all the beer companies suddenly started advertising their water brands with the same logo as the beer and no mention of water, they also suddenly started advertising at UK Premier League grounds, which many Thais watch for entertainment and gambling monitoring purposes
  24. Average salary of Immigration police has reduced from 20-30000 baht to about 8-9000 baht as they no longer get a share of the fines levied on tourists, because there aren’t any. Many are suffering quite badly so I’m not surprised that their attitude has hardened somewhat in relation to paperwork from the remaining immigrants.
