  1. If you are living with your wife (or any other individual), and there is no rental agreement, then you would show the proof of living with the wife (Thabian baan, ID, photos). If you have a rental agreement, then such evidence is not required.
  2. Because the BIB get no vig from the online platforms. A regular occurrence on Suk Soi 4.
  3. The US would declare a national holiday to have numbers so low...
  4. If I were a buyer, I would never consider such a condo. It's "unique" legal nature would be too concerning for me. What rights do I have as a condo owner? What happens if you decide you want to sell your property? How does this condo affect the value of your property? It would just be too "unusual" for me to even consider it. Further, I cannot imagine owning a condo sitting on top of someone's garage. It seems so "impermanent". Now, if I were able to rent it, that would be a completely different thing, and I might be more interested.
  5. Looking at the progression of AI in this fashion is misleading. Advancements in AI are hitting the "knee in the curve" and will soon become exponential, if not already. Also, comparing AI to the HAL of the movie 2001 is a mistake. AI is coming in forms that we never anticipated, and will likely surprise us every step of the way. For instance, the Google language translation application that is so successful with English-Chinese translation shocked the developers when they realized that the computer had "invented" a "third language" as an intermediate step in the translation process. That software is considered an extraordinary advancement in translation, and was not "programmed", but "evolved". I expect that the advancements in AI over the next 20 to 30 years are going to astound, and will be similar to the advancements in mobile phones from the Nokia candy bar phones to today's smartphones. I believe the human race is set for some massive changes - some positive, some negative - as a result of these advancements. I also believe that governments and society are ill-prepared to deal with these changes.
  6. It will not exceed 2,820, but it could reach 3,500. Very reassuring...
  7. I never asked, but I am sure a death certificate and will/court order would sort things. The owner is a very reasonable person. But also someone who understands how stupid a foreigner can be when dealing with the sexy Thai GF.
  8. Omise is used by several of our clients. They provide WordPress and other plugins to make integration easy. The only downside with Omise is that they will withhold 7% VAT to ensure taxes are paid, which is fine if you are a Thai company dealing with Thai clients. For one of our clients, this was a deal breaker, because most of their clients were in the US and the VAT does not apply. https://www.omise.co/
  9. I rented a safe deposit box from Safe Deposit Box BKK: http://www.safedepositboxbangkok.com/ Very affordable, and I was very happy with the service. When I first went to check it out, there was a foreigner there who was asking if he could also provide his Thai GF with access to his box. The owner, who is a woman from Brazil (I believe) was adamant - "NO! Only you can have access to your box!". I signed up immediately. They use fingerprint biometrics with a passcode to enter the room, and a key to access the box. It is located in Silom directly across from Bangkok Christian Hospital.
  10. Not sure what 400 yaba costs, but that was the best investment the neighbor on the other side has ever made.
  11. The Thais with white skin might be a little confused.
  12. He looks a lot like my last Grab driver. I was a bit surprised when he arrived driving a bus...
  13. I have been looking in all the wrong places to find sexy girls...
  14. Their jobs posting page should cause anyone to pause and think...
  15. That pretty much must assume that tourism will return to prior levels, which it will not.
  16. My employee used a box provided by True. The sim went in the box, and the box acted like a WiFi router. The speed was pretty good (here in BKK). He was able to watch NetFlix with only occasional buffering pauses. The data plan was a little expensive, but not terrible. A reasonable solution for a remote location, as long as the speed is decent and the plan not too expensive.
  17. Won't be long before food vendors here start coming to work in bullet-proof vests.
  18. Hydrogen Peroxide will get the blood out without bleaching out the colors (as much). Highly recommended by Dexter.
  19. We started a war over "sarcasm without representation"
