Why Unvaccinated People Are Being Denied Organ Transplants
chilly07 replied to Jeffr2's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Makes great sense to vaccinate against everything as well as ceasing lifestyle risks well before transplant as strong immunosuppressant drugs will be needed after transplant to reduce risk of rejection -
If it's diagonal walk away. If it's vertical call it an expansion gap and cover it with an attractive architrave. If it extends to the roof walk away or increase the flashing. Without several photos it's impossible to say

Agent recommendation Pattaya
chilly07 replied to neytil's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Immigration officials using their discretionary powers grant legal extensions via agents for a fee as it saves them a lot of time and hassle. Having seen agents in Immigration Offices walk in with large bundles of passports for stamping without trailing many disgruntled owners behind them convinced me that the agent/fee process is not only legal but also eminently sensible -
Changing an Extension of Stay
chilly07 replied to maxx58's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They have already added a tourist tax of 300bht to the 500 they already charge to cover health absconders and allowed OA visas to self insure so it is highly unlikely that they will change marriage extensions to include insurance. Immigration believe OA visa holders designed for multiple entry are much more likely to do a runner as they have no financial commitment to Thailand. Moving them onto self insurance plus the extra 300bht tax should allow Immigration to stop doing deals with the insurance scam industry! -
Non Imm O Retirement Extension - Jomtien
chilly07 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
QueQ is not working for Jomtien Access the booking system on the immigration.go.th website choosing Jomtien and picking the retirement choice allowing you to select a date and time -
"New" 90 Day Reporting Online
chilly07 replied to mackemray's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Works on PC too! Bit fiddly getting past all the app refferals and registration but it's there the same as before. Data is the same as the app so less to put in but email back is immediate and email approval follows on next working day (Jomtien) with the old reminder slip to put in your passport. I prefer PC as can print out hard copy of all the relevant stages. -
Wondered why the Wuhan Institute had been so quiet for so long. Seems they are still v busy. Explains why the CCP locks down entire cities when it detects a single case

Chonburi Jomtien office has an appointment system for all types of extensions including the time slot needed, accessed via the main immigration.go.th website. It enables you to select the day and time of your visit confirmed by an e mail ticket on the day. The queues outside are mainly Covid extensions who can't be bothered to book in advance probably causing the officers impatience. I used it via QueQ last Aug and it worked perfectly enabling me to bypass the car park queue walking straight into the office and up to the desk at my chosen time.

I freeze all my cards and/or reduce all payments to zero. Means I have to remember to unlock or raise limit when I use the cards and then remember to refreeze. Where I need to allow a debit by an accredited body such as HMPO (Passport renewal) I use a credit card on a zero balance so I can use MasterCards dispute resolution. Better safe than sorry. SCB approach is very sensible as most scams involve payment in another country

Number of foreigners on retirement visas
chilly07 replied to biervoormij's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Talk of brown envelopes and salary top ups are misplaced. Fees paid via agents are legitimate considerations for the exercising of discretionary powers granted to immigration officers. There is nothing wrong with Immigration reducing their workloads especially during Covid by fast tracking applications to keep down the nos of visits to their offices. The reduction in expats seeking retirement visas is entirely due to the tightening of financial requirements to reduce fraudulent claims resulting from Embassies reneging on their income verification services -
Very odd as using the immigration website you can set up an appointment for all services selecting a date and time. Last time I booked an appointment there was a queue snaking out through the car park but I just walked up to the doors at the appointed time and was waved straight through to the desk! I did use QueQ but that seems to have been taken over by the website.

Interior Ministry Prepares For Chinese New Year Festival
chilly07 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Ban it! Only sensible thing to do. CCP lockdown whole towns at the merest hint of an asymptomatic infection and they should know this virus better than anyone. And their lockdown is complete and enforced unlike Thailands lackadaisical approach -
Can 90day be done in different province
chilly07 replied to Eleftheros's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do it on line-no problem! -
To illustrate just how ridiculous the system is I have just (17/01) applied for a new passport via an agent (Keyvisa). My passport runs out in April 2023, 15mths away but I apply for my marriage extension in Aug 2022 and at that time need 12mths available on my passport and will only have 8mths on my old passport. New UK passports take 11w to obtain in Thailand according to UK gov web site hence applying 15mth early to satisfy Thai Immigration and UKs ridiculous passport turn round time now loosing 9mths of passport validity. I certainly wouldn't be applying for passport renewal a mere 3mths before my extension expires and yes I have a full colour copy of my passport on my phone for any passport enquiries.

City hall sent tax demands to everyone but because it was heavily discounted most Thais did not claim their one property exemption. Now the discounting has gone it's going to be difficult to prove to City Hall that they are entitled to an exemption on a property they happily paid tax on last year. Designed as a Stealth Tax from the outset!

Thailand should stop publicizing Covid numbers by April
chilly07 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Stupid is as stupid does! Thailand is heading for an Omicron 5th wave-who knows how high the figures will be in April? -
