  1. All credit to the MFP for not compromising. They will have to go into opposition mode, but time is on their side. The coup-appointed 'senators' will have gone before the next election at which time the MFP has a real chance of an overall majority.
  2. The objections by the coup- appointed 'senators' to any change in the lese majeste law are entirely false and hypocritical. They make a lot of money with the way things are, that is why they want no change.
  3. A shameful situation, and an insult to the millions of Thais who voted for the MFP.
  4. These arrests appear to have been well done by the RTP to give credit when its' due.
  5. The military and business elite don't care about passing new legislation. They want things to stay just as they are.
  6. Farcical and shameful. I wonder if Pita should take the MFP into opposition for now, and focus on the next election when, hopefully, the current bunch of so-called senators will be long gone.
  7. This is an uttter disgrace but entirely predictable from an outfit as corrupt as the EC.
  8. Good to see the care he's being given, however it's a shame to see how badly most elephants are treated in Thailand.
  9. Sad to think that Chuan was once respected as one of a very few honest politicians in Thaland.
  10. Ridiculous proposal which wilil not help debtors in any way whatsoever. Could, though, push the value of the baht down against foreign currencies which would be good news for many of us.
  11. MFP were always going to be shafted by PT. Best they stay above these treacberous, two-faced squabbles and go into opposition. Times are changing in Thailand and their day will come sooner than the business and military elite imagine.
  12. Marijuana has a calming effect while meth results in, inter-alia, extreme aggression.
  13. Good news. Expect more to follow. From a UK perspective Mordaunt appears to be one very few UK govt ministers who is both active and competent.
  14. I hope I'm wrong but it seems likely that 14 million Thais will be ignored and, effectively, cancelled by 250 non-elected senators appointed by those who brought about the latest coup. Shameful, but entirely predictable sad to say.
  15. What needs to be identified and then made public is who it is who is pulling his strings. I have been told he is entirely controlled by family members close to the business and military elite.
  16. Maybe. Rumours suggest Pheu Thai will accept an MFP speaker as long as they, Pheu Thai, can appoint two deputy speakers.
  17. I find this obsession with whether or not to wear a mask rather puerile. If Thais feel more comfortable if people generally wear masks that's fine by me. Doesn't bother me one bit.
  18. Way too early to make any judgement as to whether Brexit has failed or is a success.
  19. An utter disgrace. Surely, whatever the circumstances, the mother could find a way to give her baby a chance at life, rather than banging her on the head and chucking her into a rubbish dump? RIP little one. You deserved better than this.
