    The article seems to be 9 months old. Since then there has been a change of govt. It remains to be seen if this proposed legislation is ever approved.

    I have no stake in the forthcoming election other than through my bookmaker with whom I placed a large bet some time ago. In that context I note that all polls are now moving in favour of Trump.

    This was presumably built under the chaotic Tory regime so hardly applicable to the current Labour govt. However, the sight and sound of Starmer, and most members of his cabinet, is less than inspiring. to put it mildly. Hopefully appearance is not an indicator of performance. We shall see...

    In recent months there has been a surfeit of postings on this subject, mostly indicating a fair degree of concern. The proposed changes have yet to become law. Until that happens best to stay calm. I will not take any action for the time being, however I appreciate other people will have varying personal circumstances which require them to plan for all possible outcomes.

    I'm also 82 and I run most days in Chatuchak park in Bangkok around 6am. A few years ago I had finished running and took off my shirt/singlet and started to do some stationary exercises when a lady from a nearby yoga group approached me and asked me to put on my shirt as the group found my unclothed torso offensive. I apologised, and put on my shirt. Not my country, not my place to argue.

    Not sure about the relative manliness of different generations however I would say that young men today appear a bit feeble when it comes to partying.

    The report says he did not have the girl's consent, and was not married to her. I can only assume this was a reporting error, the only issue being the fact that she was only 14.

    Well said. The same for me and my family. 8 dogs, 8 cats in our walled garden. The Dogs provide excellent security, the cats less so .
