  1. Complicated entry requirements, entertainment venues closed. Hardly surprising people don't want to come to Thailand. Maybe the Thai govt doesn't really want foreigners around ?
  2. I don't think many tourists will be arriving while these nonsense rules are in force.
  3. I'm the same age as yourself. I have found living day by day, rather than worrying about what our limited future holds, is helpful. Not easy to do, but worth a try if that is part of your problem. If not, I would recommend exercise, especially swimming.
  4. Best of luck with that. The only country in which I have been mugged, twice.
  5. Very enjoyable piece Rooster. Rings a lot of bells. For myself, aged 80 and still happily married to a Thai lady for over 30 years, Thailand is better than anywhere else I've been. Taiwan runs it close though.
  6. Bless you for your kindness. Having done so much to restore his health I can't believe you would put him back on the beach. I just hope a better solution can be found. ATB.
  7. I find it hard to believe Thailand's nightlife will be gone forever. It will take time, but it will return.
  8. Great news for those being encouraged by the government to holiday here. Were I not living here permanently there's no way I would visit until all the bars etc are opened.
  9. Retired in Thailand 30 years ago. Still very happy here. No regrets.
  10. Let's get this straight once and for all. There is no sexual activity in Thailand according to government sources. Any reports contradicting this are fake news.
  11. Some posters here seem to think this is a phased strategy. Looks more like a shambles to me.
  12. What a load of drivel. I doubt that he could care less about this issue.
  13. Unless the bars etc are opened I can't imagine many tourists will want to come to Thailand. The govt has to choose, either they want the tourists and the associated covid risks, or they don't want them. There is no middle road that will work.
  14. A rather odd posting. I really don't need to be told how to live my life, or that everything today is better than it used to be. It isn't.
  15. I was first issued with a yellow book in 1967 when travelling from the UK to West Africa. I still have it and wonder if it could be updated in Thailand to include my two AZ jabs here.
  16. If Prayut wants to kill the nightlife he'd better find alternative work for all those who have been employed in it..... and he'd better find something else to attract foreign tourists.
  17. Not afraid of dying, but I need to outlive my cats and dogs first....
  18. 9 months ago I received my 800k 1 year retirement extension at CW with my bank letter and bank passbook dated/updated the previous day, likewise the year before.
  19. After receiving my second jab the hospital provided me with a signed, stamped certificate in Thai and English containing full details of my passport and Thai ID, the date of my injections, my 13 digit reference number and QR code. What more do I need ?
  20. One baby aspirin per day for over 40 years. Age 80, health good (so far).
