  1. So in fact you don't know how to achieve your unworkable suggestion. As I thought...
  2. "Something must be done" appears to be extent of your suggestion. I’m against anything that’s unworkable in practice ,as I already outlined. What are your plans for vetting tens of millions of arrivals?
  3. again background checks should be required of all tourist. Have you any idea of the (unworkable) logistics involved in such a suggestion when that number is tens of millions . That’s even without the implications involved in letting a random foreign country have access to another’s criminal database if that’s what you were contemplating. Wanna another think…?
  4. Ah,that’s just what they told you- they didn’t want you turning up ,being a buzzkill! ????
  5. ???? " when I was out walking with my brother Jim someone threw a tomato at him tomatoes, tomatoes, alright in the skin but they bloody well hurt when they come in a tin! " ????
  6. At my age, that’s about all I can manage too.. ????
  7. Impossible. Worst excuse ever. C'mon!…worse than "brake failure "??
  8. "The victim requested compensation of 100,000 baht . The Mercedes-Benz driver negotiated a settlement of 50,000 baht and has already paid 20,000 baht" OUTRAGEOUS overcharging for such a short ride, dwarfing the 700 baht charged by another recent taxi driver recently to much opprobrium….and he didn’t even use his own vehicle either ! ????
  9. The two are not mutually exclusive..
  10. Firstly, there was a mistake made; for no logical reason they simply wrongly assessed he wasn’t in uk . Secondly, the excuse you made that he didn’t allow enough time is specious because they DID deal with the application within that time (erroneously) nor raise a query, simply wrongly rejected it. The time element is only a factor, not because any query was raised but BECAUSE they made an error which they have effectively admitted by now reversing the decision
  11. The shop owner understood English? Or Finnish? When asked how much Thai I speak I reply "Enough to get myself into trouble… but not OUT !" ????
  12. (*Panic* by the Smiths) Indeed, written by the lead singer ,Morrissey (about Steve Wright),but for relevant comedic effect only the lyric ,not simply the title works ..
  13. Yep, I actually laughed out loud as I was writing it "Is laughing alone a sign of mental illness? ... Laughing by yourself for no reason is associated with many mental conditions, such as hypomania." You might want to get yourself checked out… ????
  14. Included in tonight’s playlist is Morrissey's " hang the DJ,hang the DJ,hang the DY " ????
  15. I’m sure when you penned that quip somewhere in your head it seemed humorous…
  16. "Live" music is frequently a poor ,inferior replication of the original (non live) music.
  17. This is one of the reasons that one of the first things I do when moving into a new house in UK (especially the South ) is to fit a good water softener (£500) . Not only do you get more comfortable better water ,use less soap/detergent and easier cleaning, but it preserves longevity and efficiency of expensive hardware (washing machines, hot water tank and showers etc). Pays for itself in the end.
  18. That is a feature of a poor/cheap shower choice. Try Aqualisa Quartz (pumped unit) or Mira and you’ll get proper showers. Not cheap but in the long run much better and cheaper than expensive baths
  19. The nipple is a safety feature stopping inadvertent selection of scalding water, but pushing it in allows further movement which by continuous movement back and forth might free up the mechanism
  20. I’ll see you later at the usual haunt, but I warn you ,after Sonkran isolation I’ll be on a "Nam soda" bender ! ???? ????
  21. In those circumstances,as I value my life (health) rather more I’d have got the driver to pull over (pretend you’re going to vomit or something) get out and make your own way back. Such risk is not worth taking for avoiding embarrassment
  22. That’s the mindset of lacking foresight. In virtually all instances good maintenance SAVES money in the long run through preserving longevity and preventing more costly repairs . I was once told (regularly changing)good quality oil is the cheapest mechanic of all.
  23. Although I could accurately say 91% of those killed in road traffic accidents WEREN'T wearing a seatbelt.. ????
  24. No,one is a conscious and deliberate choice to kill ,the other causing death and injury by mindless stupidity and lack of foresight.
