  1. I will keep an eye out for unusually acts of friendliness towards the ever increasing rare species in the city known as farang.

BK Bank over the years (to me, must be my cologne) has never been that user friendly for us farang types.

  2. Thanks to the actions of the PAD, personally I had a trip to Thailand cancelled and with my refund (no travel insurance will cover me due to civil unrest), I will personally be $1000.00 AUD out of pocket. So thanks <deleted>, your criminal behaviour cost me a holliday.

    Whats the cost to you?

    How trite.

they were fighting for more than just a freakn holiday!

Interesting to me at least is that the PAD is declaring victory when it fact it was the constitution court that did the real work.

All the protesting, and shutdowns, loss of life and money for the country etc was for not. The Court ruling would have happened even without all the protesting.

To pre-empt those that will say, the PAD influenced the court / made them act quicker - I reply in advance..nice try but no.

  3. With Xmas (that's for you girl and yas) on a thurday, I think we should organise a proper Un-Authorised TV Bash for the Friday the 26th. Unlike recent attempts (not mentioning any names), this one will have strong leadership and we will delegate responsibilities.

First, we need a venue. (somewhere larger than Black Swan please)

We need a registration person (qualities needed: cute but annoyingly affective)

We need a third party negotiater (time share salespersons ok)

To get the ball rolling on this I will suggest a few names for the event...

"TV - Night after Christmas Bash"

    "Box till you drop"

    "TV 26th - Merry <deleted>**ing X Mas Party"

    Other suggestions encouraged.

  4. i was also pissed off with him over the summer and wanted shot of him but the fact remains that he is still at Utd so as long as he is wearing the shirt of utd and doing the business, who cares. I d rather have him playing for us than aganist us and i think u know yourself you would love to have him at your club.

i do wish untied fans wouldn't always assume that. i wouldn't want any player at liverpool who played for himself above the team and who genuinely didn't want to be at the club. united fans know that ronaldo's only using them for another season until he can scarper to where he really wants to be, so the unconditional love for him in that case is pretty sad.

i also don't like cheating shithouses which is why i wanted el hadji diouf sold the second he gobbed at a celtic fan for example.

hmm interesting, I think CR realises that his opportunity for trophies and awards lays not in Madrid but in Real Manchester.

You should worry about Robbie Keane and what Rafa thinks about him and the health of mr goldielocks.

  5. I like the white room in Bed, the other room is just too noisy and plays (in my opinion) terrible music! :o

I wouldn't say its overly snobby, the last time I was in wearing trainers, old jeans and a t shirt and enjoyed myself.

I have only been in on Friday's and a Monday to eat.

I am sure they have a door policy that doesn't let in trannys and hookers.

Always seems to be a good mix of ages and nationalities.

    Cool place to go.

    I'd go here on a pissup! :D

OP, when you put down your XBox and want to venture out for an evening, may I suggest RCA as at BED they don't allow PSP's. (they confiscated mine the last time I went and someone uploaded a hi-so wannabe virus that forces it to reboot when near a mirror).

  6. If we bow out tonight in the League / Carling / Irrelevant Cup, it will be due to this young line-up (giggs and neville are in as chaparones).

Team (from): Foster, Kuszczak, Rafael, Evans, Cleverley, Neville, Chester, Vidic, O'Shea, Nani, Park, Fletcher, Anderson, Possebon, Gibson, Giggs, Tevez, Welbeck, Manucho.

  7. For Stevie and Mr Singh please feel free to upload the attached to your computer, mobile etc.

Very Gay if anyone does or has, have you James ?? :o

No need, I have the Double Cup Group Photo from last year, you know the ones - EPL and Champions League.

  8. PAD: entire Cabinet must leave office

People's Alliance for Democracy leader Somsak Kosaisuk on Tuesday vowed to continue rallying at Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports and demanded the departure of the entire Cabinet.

Following the verdict on party disbandment, Somsak said the PAD would not allow the Cabinet to work in the caretaker capacity until the formation of the next government.

He said every minister must depart along with Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat.

Of 36 Cabinet members, 22 are not affected by the party disbandment and can carry on in the caretaker administration.

    The Nation

Now its the whole cabinet? Enough is enough, time for the boys in green to get out the broom.

  10. 1/ As a formal French member a Riot Unit I can tell you, it is only a question of training. Riot unit is a full time job.

2/ Taking , like the PAD did an airport is not for sure a terrorist action ! Only a missunderstanding of the word DEMOCRATY

3/ Please, do not joke about the WW2 in France !!!!

Or I will joke about some muslim tourits in New York coming by plane :o

    JP

Ok WW 1 it is, sorry

  11. Since no one with prior experience has responded to your question...

I lived in France for two years. Interruptions messed with daily living and I always had a feeling it'd be a constant happening. A constant irritation. Not a few days every so many years, like here.

Thailand has been unsettled on and off since I've lived here (three years), but it hasn't inconvenienced me that much. Not like in France.

In Thailand I don't have the same negative feelings towards those striking. I guess because in France, they were always trying to force their already cash-strapped government to cough up. Here, they are attempting to shake their country into some sort of democracy. And while I might not agree with the methods the Thais are using, I'm not exactly fussed either.

I might miss my plane to the UK this December. 'Shrug'. No matter. There will be other trips.

(here's hoping someone with more info will join in... someone who remembers the exact details of the strikes, etc)

The problem is there are major strikes in France almost on a weekly basis, that last only a few days. I don't recall the farmers taking control of the airport and control towers, only blocking access to the terminal.

  12. In 1941, France enjoyed its best tourism year ever with millions of Germans stopping in for extended vacations.

In 1944, the trend caught on as the Brits, Americans, Canadians wanted to find out why it was the place to visit.

In away, this influx of visitors contributed to it's well-deserved reputations as being fashionable, even though history books tell us that Italy is not far behind.

As for Thailands airports, recent events to make them a trendy hang out have met with mixed results.

  13. There are many words used to describe the PAD actions at Subvanabumi airport flying around now, occupation, terrorism etc.

My question is, this occurs to me to be something similar to what is happening quite frequently in other countries too, but as an example I chose France as I have frequently heard of similar actions there; blockades on roads, highways, borders, ports.

The reasons are sometimes - in relation to PAD's - much more trivial, such as oil prices, the price of strawberries, salaries etc.

So how does the current blockade/occupation/terrorism compare to that?

Someone with some real insight into such matters, please educate me.

    /bbp

References: Google "France Blockade" or "French farmers block" for example

Easy, nobody wants to go to France :o

France attracted 81.9 million foreign tourists in 2007 (surpassing its population), a 3.8% increase compared to 2006, making it the most popular tourist destination in the world. This 81.9 million figure excludes people staying less than 24 hours in France.

Not bad for a country where nobody wants to go to.

well aren't you just a bundle of statistics.

Cybil, remind me to not go to Britanny this year as apparently France has too many tourists.

  14. Hello everybody.

I'm not married with thai lady and I know that I can't buy land...that I need a company with thai maiority.....or do a lease (30 years)....or buy a overpriced apartment if I want full property.

But, what about to do a very long rent??

Example: I buy a detached house for 5 million baht and, instead of to do a "company" or "lease" etc etc...

I want to stipulate a 300 YEARS rent contract (of course with the clausole that the rent is already full paid in advance and all the house's expenses and works will be mine) with possibility to sub rent whenever I want.

    It is possible??

Mate, the property forum on here is full of experts ( :o ) that can help you with this and other related questions.

  16. Their office opens at 0730 GMT so will ring them shortly after that time and see if I can find out more info. I will post what I am told on TV.

Emirates have cancelled the flight NOT my parents, so why should they be out of pocket!!???

They won't be. But imagine how many people who have tickets for the coming days are trying to rebook at the moment and I think you can see the headaches it causes.

Their flight was cancelled, they will be rebooked on the next AVAILABLE flight according to the statement issued by the airline.

You need to get past the point of requesting flights "after specific dates" and start warming up to "next available flight".

    Good luck.

This whole airport closure situation has far reaching ramifications beyond Thailand. X your issue with thousands of other travellers who are affected by this and see the mess it is causing for hotels, airlines, travel agents and on and on and on.

I guess lawsuits against the AOT will follow. AOT can in-turn sue PAD?
