No one has to declare "overseas income" or pay tax on it. One has to declare assessable income that is remitted to Thailand if one is a tax resident of Thailand (in country more than 179 days per year.) The deadline for filing a tax return is 31 March 2025 for tax year 2024. The penalty is 1.5% surcharge per month on any taxes owed, on top of any fines that may (or may not) be levied.

Money that is remitted to Thailand derived solely from savings accrued prior to 1 Jan 2024 is non-assessable. Had you read a couple of the tax threads on AN, you'd have found that mentioned often and very often.

Not what the story said but you can make up whatever you want on the internet, apparently, so go right ahead. If you actually read the story, it states two basic concerns: a. Illegal work/overstays b. Concern for the safety of the facility as many Jewish facilities are targets for violence/terror activities. As someone who stumbled onto this and doesn't really care either way, is it not conceivable that while this Pelzman guy was writing/researching his paper, he had discussed it with others? I doubt he was locked into a secure facility while working - quite possible others knew about it and talked about it, the Jared puppet included. So what?
