Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If I have something else to do, I give the money to the condo juristic office people and they pay Lazada delivery person when the package is delivered. Pretty simple, really.

No problems with COD. If the driver gives you the package and leaves, deal is done.

Foreigners and their overseas income: what next?
TheAppletons replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Concur, based upon what we know now. It would be highly unusual for a government to attempt to retroactively apply a new income tax law to previous tax years. Now, if someone were to whisper the words "wealth tax" to the TRD.....different ballgame. (Colombia, France, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland all have some form of a wealth tax, I think.) -

Not Jim but.....the remittance taxation is in effect now, the worldwide income tax scheme is under consideration for future implementation. So - in effect - both of your scenarios are true. The taxation on worldwide income would replace the remittance tax, which remains in effect until superceded. -

Again, it's not assessable income. RD's rules, not mine. I'm sure he'll fare quite well. -

He won't need to file taxes. His savings from prior to 1 Jan 2024 are not assessable income. If one has no assessable income, one does not need to file a tax form. What's he going to do, file a tax form with a zero in every column? -
Re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi?
TheAppletons replied to TPDH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's always open. Why? Because it's manned by Immigration Officers who have to be there 24/7 to process international departures. -
Mine goes to the market for the exact opposite reason - so she can purchase as much organic food as possible.

You might want to buy your eggs elsewhere if you like the larger variety. Thai GF buys ours at a local farmer's market - humongous eggs. Can even buy them with double yolk in every egg (now that tastes a little too "eggy" for me, if that makes any sense.) But I'm with you.....eggs here generally don't taste any different than other eggs. (Then again, I liberally salt my boiled eggs prior to consumption.)

Best umbrella brand/type for Chiang Mai Raining Season?
TheAppletons replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in Chiang Mai
I ordered one of these G4Free 54 inch golf umbrellas yesterday from Amazon, already shipped and on its way to Chiang Mai. $31.03 US, including shipping. (Doesn't have the hooked handle grip that you so desperately require, however. Straight handle.) Vendor is Laiqiu, Inc. -
It isn't a "report" it's a Bangkok Post "Explainer" article that basically breaks down the proposal in simple terms. The only thing "new" that I saw was that the CRS information that everyone around here seems so certain is the "game changer" only provides - according to the article - investment related information. It does not encompass all financial related matters pertaining to individuals. For example, it apparently doesn't provide information on individual wages or salary.

Best umbrella brand/type for Chiang Mai Raining Season?
TheAppletons replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in Chiang Mai
You want a "double canopy" umbrella. They're designed with two "tops" of the umbrella to vent the wind and prevent the umbrella from inverting when it's windy. I had no idea these were a thing until I saw one at the Red Lion last weekend. They look something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/G4Free-Umbrella-Protection-Windproof-Oversized/dp/B08GLQ9WQS?th=1 -

Yeah, that's not what it says about DTAs at all. In fact, it stresses that Thailand has 61 DTAs in place to prevent double taxation though the author opines that claiming a foreign tax credit may be inconsistent or cumbersome. Says nothing about the "average pensioner" being at risk because they won't be "rescued" by DTAs. It does say that for people who are citizens of countries without a DTA, double taxation may be a concern. The piece concludes with a recommendation that Thailand actually expands its network of DTAs.

This. Radost has a large dispaly in front with the first week's schedule, the overall tournament bracket, miniature flags of each nation involved, and a notice that they will be showing all games.
