  1. IIRC, TRD written guidance is that you don't need to file unless you have at least 60,000 thb (single) or 120,000 thb (married) in assessable income. (This is also specified in the tax guide pinned at the top of the sub-forum.) 0 < 60,000. (Not disputing that the local yokel in Pak Chong told AN memberThe Cyclist something that sounds contradictory.)
  2. Like you, I reside in Thailand. Until I moved here - and joined this forum - I had no idea how much Brits and (especially) Australians hate Americans.
  3. Hard copy only. Just fill it in and send it off EMS:
  4. A billionaire's daughter is wealthy. Shocking.
  5. Perhaps you should just read the tax guide pinned at the top of the forum. It's all there for people who don't need to be spoon fed information.
  6. I'm guessing you have other income not covered by the DTA? Or are you saying your overall tax rate - US and Thailand combined - is less than 9%? Otherwise, I would have estimated your Thailand tax rate at 0% if your income is comprised solely of SS and government pensions.
  7. I'm certain the bank employees are happy that you don't go to the bank every time you need to pass wind, facemasks notwithstanding.
  8. I think you may have misunderstood the poster (wwest5829) to whom you replied. As I read his post, he was attempting to make the point that Immigration requires the remittance of 65K/month for the income method and now TRD is saying that money is going to be taxed. The answer to that question is quite possibly "yes" (individual circumstances dependent.)
  9. Government civil service and military pensions, US Social Security payments, and other sources that are covered by country-specific bilateral DTAs.
  10. No because all of them leave after 179 days and go somewhere else for the rest of the year.
  11. I would consult the owner of the property and explain the situation. Before doing that, I would also ask the property manager what a "normal" or "average" monthly electric bill might be for that room type/geographic location and then offer some proportion of that amount (depending upon your length of stay) to the owner as a workaround. If the owner is recalcitrant or insists on charging what you consider to be an unfair amount, I'd pay nothing and then let AirBnb sort it out for you.
  12. I don't think you do understand. Again, if you stay in Thailand for 180 days or more in any calendar year, you'll become a tax resident. It doesn't have to be 180 consecutive days - it's cumulative throughout the year. Whether you do a border run or not, it's 180 days or more per calendar year. Whether you have a visa that potentially allows you to stay for 180 days doesn't matter - as long as you don't stay 180 days or more.
  13. I don't know whether they offer the service fee option as I've always arrived with forms filled out and photo in hand. Thanks for the correction on the single RE permit fee.
  14. Re-entry permit desk is located after security to the right of the regular departure immigration lanes. (Do NOT go through the departure immigration before getting your re-entry permit.) You must have a same day boarding pass to access the area. It's open any time there is an international flight departing (since the person processing your re-entry permit will be an immigration officer.) If the desk is temporarily unmanned, simply inform one of the immigration officers that you would like to purchase a re-entry permit and someone will be there shortly to assist you. 1900 thb for single, 3800 thb for multiple.
  15. THB:USD was 34.26 at 11:00 pm last night....making Kasikorn's forecast roughly 99.3% correct. More accurate than the weather forecast, lol.
  16. Have you considered purchasing a computer with a "return" button so you can create paragraphs?
  17. Is this the fan fiction sub-forum? I'll contribute: If Jupiter falls out of the gravitational pull of the sun and affects the Earth's gravity by 2.5 x 10^-5N/kg, (which is about 0.00025% of Earth's gravity), then will this affect you at all?
  18. If you're willing to drink yourself to death for 30,000 thb, you're not rich.
  19. Nonsensical reason to dissolve the House of Representatives.
  20. This is quite reasonable, price-wise. (My agent is slightly less but has almost zero overhead cost.) The "big name" agencies try to charge double that amount (or more).
