Always amusing when seeing an older guy and younger lady using Google translate. Whether in a bar in Hua Hin or on street in Soi 4 Bangkok. Come on guys. You can, and should, be better than that!

Moving older Thai children to the UK
soi3eddie replied to Rich888's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Whatever happened to adopted European law of "right to family life"? That's why I said do it ASAP! -
I posted a review of my experience in 2020 of buying, riding, touring and enjoyed my ADV150 scooter. The derision, critiscism of doing that was surprising. I'm an experienced rider of big (1,000cc) and small (50cc) bikes for 40 years. Was just posting information. I filmed a review of my bike from a Bangkok car park whilst wearing flip flops and no helmet and got slammed by some. Since, why bother to contribute. I have the full leathers, boots, Hi-Vis and full face helmet which I wear on long journeys. Hell I even wear when going 5kms to the park in in early morning. Then, you'll hear the cries of "anyone who rides a bike in Thailand has a death wish and will die" crowd. Too dangerous blah blah blah. You're either a biker or not. Film here...

Moving older Thai children to the UK

Move them to the UK ASAP and apply. If there is push back, claim discrimination (brown faces - make sure they soak up as much Thai sun as possible) and they will be admitted immediately. Don't dither or delay. Do it now! -
French national apprehended in Bangkok on kidnap charge
soi3eddie replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Totally agree. Land of stoners and losers. Worse than ever which is sad for the people of Thailand who, bless them, deserve better of foreigners. I was in Pattaya last week. Walking down Buakhao heading to hotel after after early am excercise, passing Easy Corner (opposite R-Con Corner), aged westerners on the beer at 07:30am eating breakfast FFS! Come on guys, life is more than that. -
French national apprehended in Bangkok on kidnap charge

@Bangkok Barry Challenge and discuss is never going to happen in Thailand. Never question a teacher or person in authority or elder. Lest they may be wrong and lose face. If the teacher does not have an answer they should fess up and guide the student in procurring the correct knowledge. Sadly unlikely to happen as we all know. -

Stop with this "related news". It is not "related" and has nothing to do with the OP headline. Does it? -
My take on the OP decline of British tourists to Thailand is two fold. 1) The lower end of the socio economic scale are hurting financially and cannot afford to travel to Thailand (higher airfares or cannot afford to travel at all). Many that can travel, will be going to lower air fare destinations such as Spain and The Canary Islands. 2) The higher end of the socio economic scale are looking for new adventures. Many I meet on flights to Thailand are then continuing elsewhere such as Vietnam and Laos for their holidays.

Moderators may be redundant too. Artificial Interlligence could be used. Not only for moderation but to write articles.

Exactly what I've just had done in the last few weeks at Thantakit in Bangkok. Excellent service. Their pricing is here as a guide for the OP. Prices may well be somewhat cheaper in Pattaya.

I arrived back in "The Land of NO Smiles" a few days ago. Nobody, in real life here believes inflation is down. Nothing but price rises everywhere from utilities to food to fuel prices. Anyone who thinks that interest rates are coming down (more than a token .25%) is deluded. More pain to come I'm afraid and with that the s.h.i.t.e shows of London mayoral elections in a few weeks and a UK general election before December. Add in geopolitical events and conflicts and the US elections then it's going to be a rough year. Good luck everyone!

Yingluck’s Planned Homecoming Only Up To Thaksin: Ex-Democrat MP
soi3eddie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Free pass for the Shinawatras nowadays. Simply "when" will she return? Anyone want to open a book of odds on what illness she will suddenly be stricken down with that requires a VIP suite at the Police General Hosptal in lieu of jail? -
Minivan passengers pass out from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning

Quite amazing really that the driver didn't become unconcious too. Very, very lucky that there was no loss of life in this incident. -
So this tells us a lot about life here that many beleive already. Life is valued very cheaply. I'm sorry for your loss @petermik especially, when commenting on that which must not be spoken, will guarantee a sentence of at least 15 years. 4 years for cold blooded murder is an insult and should have been a minimum of 20 years and no parole or pardo!

Non-O retirement Visa renewal
soi3eddie replied to Nowaythatsreal's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you want to renew now, you will have to use the agent again. Best option, visit another nearby country and let your current visa/extension lapse. Reenter Thailand visa exempt, go direct to immigration and apply for Non-O retirement and then do extension properly. That's what I did. You now qualify - just make sure that you have the FIT incoming document for at least 800,000k Baht from overseas from your Thai bank. You do not have to go back to the UK. -
Interrogation at Suvarnabhumi

Google translate is your friend. Download as an app for all phones. Take a picture or hover over the text and it will trasnslate. I would never sign anything I did not understand. -
I hate the way the airlines here add and preselect options. The advertised price should be available for all payment types. Sneaky and misleading.

Pattaya Police Inspect Pubs to Deter Crime During Songkran
soi3eddie replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
April 1st was nearly 2 weeks ago... -
I've walked the whole length of the beach road twice in the last few days. Some areas are so narrow between the trees that a wheelchair user would struggle to pass. Other areas are wider but there just seems to be so many obstructions along the way. Also, some areas it looks like they narrowed the walkway to add parking spaces on the beach side of beach road. Removing the trees is the last thing that should happen as it wouild spoil the look. Better to extend the walkway out a few metres onto the beach and unclutter. I'll also add that the whole length of beach road is dirty and smelly. They have put rubbish/garbage dumpsters every 30 metres or so on the beachside walkway (which is to be commended at this busy time), however at 7am today the smell was awful like walking through a garbage tip. The dumpsters did not appear full but really they need sanitizing once emptied. Quite horrible really and puts me off walking tomorrow morning.
