  1. Will they be raiding the thousands of weed shops that are now open in every town?
  2. Instead of giving up booze why not just drink sensibly. In your 70s/80s a small drink now and again is one of the few pleasures you have left. My only goal now is to keep breathing.
  3. Yes it is chaos and renewing licences is a real PITA but it's only once every 5 years. For most expats we have plenty of spare time so one or two days out of my life every 5 years is not a major problem. I look on it as part of the price to live here. Similarly half a day queueing to get my visa extension once a year.
  4. That alone makes it useless as a camper, plus the 2.4 million baht price tag (in the UK). When you can stay in a hotel in Thailand for 500 baht.
  5. I doubt anyone would buy it now with a 10-15 million lease bill in 11 years. Start saving for the lease.
  6. Aprilia GT200 the same 174 cc
  7. Pay me 8000, i'd be happy to queue for a few hours, seriously.
  8. I am always anxious when i approach a set of lights and they change to yellow. I start to slow and prepare to stop but wary that a car behind will just speed up and rear end me. Quite often i will stop at the lights and a car will zoom by me on the left on red.
  9. Definitely need more than one. I have one with 1 m baht used only for my visa renewal. Another one for day to day stuff with no card and one still in the UK with my credit card and pension inputs.
  10. Are these the leased planes stolen from the EU? If so they should be seized at any airport outside Russia.
  11. Just pass the case onto the National Anti-Corruption Commission - pause for laughter.
  12. Same here, i have a Click 160. No problem at all around town, i don't feel 'every bump" or any rattles. Very quick and easy to drive and park. For in town scooting it's great. Now if you are into touring then just get a proper 500+ cc motorcycle
  13. Depends on the bike/age but for a scooter maybe only 10-15000. Plus of course it will be worth more when you come to sell it.
  14. Skip meals, yeah right. But you can bet they can afford a mobile phone, sky subscription and drink/smoke.
  15. Yes a lot of the second hand bike dealers in Pattaya have nearly new Bangkok registered bikes for sale, at nearly new prices. Why would these be on sale in Pattaya after 1 or 2 years? I always assumed these would be repossessed bikes and wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. Just pay a bit more and get a new one in your name.
  16. I see a lot of people driving the wrong way on dual carriageways because it saves them 20 seconds driving to the next U turn spot on the road. Unbelievable.
  17. Has happened to me twice. This is the greatest danger. Cars sometimes stop but motorbikes never do. You are half way across when the bike comes speeding through in between the cars.
  18. I doubt if you can. I wanted a SCB account, tried many branches but they all wanted a residence certificate.
  19. It always amuses me to hear that Thailand actually has a National Anti Corruption Commission.
  20. As soon as they have finished they will dig it up again to bury the cables.
  21. I was at a restaurant in Soi Diana yesterday and the place was packed, people queueing to get a seat. I guess their restaurants are empty because they are selling dodgy overpriced seafood.
  22. High speed trains "coming" ha ha maybe about the same time as Christ's second coming.
  23. Has anyone been able to get a PS5 in Thailabd, at MRRP? I am still trying after 2.25 years !! I am not paying the scalpers prices. The best i have seen is from the Sony Store at 18,690 but i am never able to get one before thay are sold out. Any other possible sellers?
