Another example might be the purchase of an expensive TV or motorcycle say 100,000 baht. There are two ways to pay for it. A) Remit the cash to my thai bank and pay in cash here B) Pay on my UK credit card, which is paid off in the UK, and the cash never reaches Thailand. Is A taxable but not B? If that is true no one would ever buy something like this in cash. It could cost upto 35% more.

Answered already. Condos should only be rented for 30 days + which is not competition for hotels. If more condos are rented, illegally, daily/weekly that is massive competition for local hotels.

You would care if you lived in a condo and it was full of daily Chinese tourists spitting and crapping in the pool.

Condos can be rented over 30 days but it's a constant battle for most condos to stop people renting daily/weekly. Many farangs (cough Russians) think they can run an illegal business renting their condos daily like a mini hotel.

It would have to be somewhere with loads of hotel spaces which only leaves Bangkok and Pattaya. Can you imagine the race around Pattaya ha ha. They would have to stop every few yards to go around the road works. The only option is a street race in Bangkok yawn.

Typical insurance scam. They are happy to take your premiums when you are young and healthy but as you get older they force you out with unaffordable premiums. Better to self insure, but maybe too late if you don't start until your 70s. If the OP had just saved his 100k a year premium from the start he would have 1-2 million baht saved for any treatment.
