  1. from the opinion piece... They insist that this alliance was a “necessary choice,” which is utter nonsense. The only plausible reason for this unholy union is to facilitate Thaksin Shinawatra’s return to Thailand. Do they really expect us to believe that Thaksin conveniently fell ill the moment he landed, thus avoiding a night in jail and instead securing an entire hospital floor? It will be interesting to see how Thaksin repays his debt to the "powers-that-be" for this compromise.
  2. It was a significant PTP party platform measure. Economic stimulus/relief. Now we're going to shame a party for keeping a campaign promise? This is why Sretta is expected to also become Minister of Finance. The junta gave away Billions in subsidies, welfare during their ~ 8 year reign.
  3. I think you'll need a stand-alone Android-client VPN app. I think that free VPN is only enabled when using the Opera browser Android app. So you could use the bank's website access, while the VPN is enabled within Opera. Can you share your need to use a VPN? The app's use is limited to a specific country?
  4. Prelude to him being transferred to Praram 9 hospital. The Shinwatra family is a majority shareholder in Praram 9 hospital. Just need some time to spruce up the two top floors. I think a Pardon will come in multiple steps, shaving a few years off the sentence, but a full Pardon might be months or years away.
  5. Enable international roaming. Are you prepaid or postpaid? https://dtac.co.th/en/prepaid/services/roaming/preparation.html Obviously you'll need a handset which supports local frequencies, and have access to a roaming partner. Receiving an SMS, anywhere, is free of charge.
  6. The former president was listed as 6-feet 3-inches, 215 pounds, with 'strawberry or blond hair' and blue eyes. I think these can be self-reported. Or maybe Dr, Jackson helped?
  7. What that means is that you can NOT provide your own self-addressed, stamped envelope to be used to return your old and new passports. Instead you must purchase a service, for 100 THB from Thai Post, who will mail the envelope to the Embassy on your behalf. You then provide proof of payment in your application package. You can purchase this service on line, while some report you can also do it at a Thai PO counter, YMMV. https://www.thailandpostmart.com/product/1013460000929/Courier-Pass-Back-envelope/ You also need to pay the $130 fee via Pay.gov, no more local Thai bank money orders. There have been quite a few recent threads on this subject scattered about here in different sub-forums. A search would give more detail.
  8. Meh. Why did it take him 17 years to return, if he's so masterfully brilliant? .
  9. Who is "they"? Is this some sort of prison prediction? Stay out of the shower, or join the Aryan gang.
  10. Who will he issue orders to? Big Joke, the next national police chief? Judiciary? RTA? ISOC? Those are the organizations that will be needed to push back against the Monarchy reform trends.
  11. The distribution of the 35 cabinet positions (20+15) was haggled at one per eight or nine MPs. Hence the additional 16 means BJT gets an extra one or two of these positions. A smart, if sleazy and un-democratic, move. He also has been pushing for those holding Ministries to optionally retain them, but I'm not sure he's been successful (yet). MoT and MoPH are desirable, but given Saksayam Chidchob's "difficulties" at the MoT - I think he's been temporarily relieved of duties owing to potential conflicts of interest - that may not be possible. PTP has expressed an interest in MoPH where they could easily reverse Cannabis normalization with an "order", although I don't think they will.
  12. I wonder what will happen to his seized assets and his frozen assets? He had a favorable decision from the Central Tax Court last year.
  13. I think his number one task will be to put the "Monarch Reforms" toothpaste back in the tube. That will be challenging, as he has no real power, and will require a harsh clamp-down on any perceived anti-Monarchy sentiments.
  14. According to the current Constitution, the King is the Head of State, and his power is unlimited. He can grant pardons anytime he wishes. It is weird that Wissanu appears to be speaking for the King, and applying limits to his authority. All that said, it is far too early to discuss a pardon, which might come in the form of multiple pardons, reducing the sentence each time, over a period of months or even a year.
  15. Why the rush? Seriously, this is a joke, right?
  16. I hope he understands what he got himself into. Other than the usual platitudes - work hard, for the people - he has rarely come across as someone who has articulated his core beliefs re: the many issues facing Thailand and its citizens. Unless he has a lot more support than has so far been indicated, he may not last long. Let's see how the "10,000 Baht Digital Wallet" legislation progresses.
  17. Least surprising bit of news so far in this "election" debacle. The amount of wheeling and dealing for ministries, and the associated 'troughage' must have been staggering. Thaksin is probably the only one who could herd these cats. Next up, decapitate MFP.
  18. I assume they're still preparing his accommodations at the family-owned/operated Praram 9 Hospital? I'm not certain who they (Courts/RTP/Thaksin) think the audience is for this charade, but absolutely no one believes he suddenly became ill within a few hours of his return. The lengths they are going to to describe the lodging conditions, and his multiple health issues is an indication of prevarication. Illness(es) are just being used as one of several grounds for a Pardon. Baby steps. Just 10 years ago "amnesty" threw the country into a convulsive fit. Now, not so much.
  19. He looked chipper on the G650 yesterday. It would be better if they just skipped to the end part where he is Pardoned, but banned from Politics for at least 10 years.
  20. For online purchases, the seller asks for proof of payment, usually shared in a Messenger or LINE chat. I used to do a screen grab, but screen grabs with SCB Easy yield a black screen. This is not a Settings (App or Android) issues. I assume this is limited within the SCB App for security reasons. Yes, the payment slip can be shared from within the SCB Easy app across many/most applications including LINE, Messenger, etc. The payment slip can be regenerated from the History "tab". Yes, payment slips are stored locally in /Pictures/SCB EASY (Android).

  23. His weed blower prototype worked better than his first attempt using a weed whacker. Kush Life https://www.instagram.com/waxwizzard/
  24. Can't wait to hear what his weight and height are. North of 300? Please remove your lifts.
