other way they could have done this tactfully is offer a new 'SKU' model, tweak the battery size or claiming less kwh/range untick a few options/colour and offer it at lower price and claim that no, this is a cheaper new model, not discounted old model

Why is Thailand so terrible at sport?
digbeth replied to Yellow Fever's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
even amongst thais, the discussion is that while Thais individually might be gifted enough to compete at the top levels in their sport, see tennis, golf, snooker it comes apart at team sports where they just don't have the discipline or the teamwork, Even football where there might be a few Thai players in european and japanese leagues, together in a national team they fall apart The top teams in Thai league alone has to supplement their rank with foreign players -
interesting choice of transliteration, does get the accent across

one aspect with the recent price drop is insurance, if you drove home weeks or months before the big discount, your insured value is still the original price what happens if you have a total loss accident after the price drop? the cost of replacement could be less than the insured payout

Price reduction existed for a long time, but with ICE and legacy manufacturers in Thailand, it's usually done and delivered to customers in a more opaque way... say the list price is still 1.2 million but the sales girls are being nice and gave you 100,000baht discounts after haggling with 'freebies' like ting films, maybe if you didn't ask for discounts you don't get any What the Chinse EV and Teslas has introduce is the 'one price' concepts for all dealers, we see this since GWM Havel and Ora dealers fail to keep sales staff as they feel they have less to work with under the one price policy and eventually the dealership closes Keeping the list price the same while offering the later customers more discounts could appease the existing customer who feel they've been short changed of course, but shifting units with new customers are more important maybe the chinese have to adopt the direct from manufacturer model of selling the cars from the corporate themselves like tesla

what's the situation like for UK's NHS, back when I was in the UK even to get registered wit GP there's a waiting list, and once you're on, getting appointments to see GP could be weeks In Thailand on the free "30 baht" I know government hospitals supposes to take all patients in their catchment area, some might have to go to local clinic first, but for most, if they're prepared to wait in a queue at the hospital, everyone is eventually seen by a doctor within half a day at most. Specialists at Government Hospitals depends on the field, surgeons - there'll be a few on rotation at the Amphur hospitals, other specialist like oncology there might only be one or two at big provincial hospitals that require referrals to see, and even then wait is half a month or more, About similar with social security with workers While the quality of care is good, the wait and resulting time doctors in public hospital will spend with you is what puts people off and any middle class Thais that can afford it go private and pay out of pocket or have private insurance

what's exactly will you be creating that requires a use of a proper computer as oppose to a tablet like an ipad where you can lounge around and read as opposed to sitting up on a desk if you write memoirs or edit photos or enjoy tinkering away on the computer sure, I still build my own PC with multiple monitors and prefer them to phone screens. Compared to the newer generation that can do everything on their phones, I realize I could be seen like my parents' generation, who need everything printed out on paper to read.

Your experience with medical emergency number in thialand
digbeth replied to villageidiotY2K's topic in Health and Medicine
ฺIt used to be that upcountry is 1669 but in Bangkok there's also 1646, which is run by Bangkok City Administration, but from what I've seen BMA hospital. some are quite nice and new are a lot less equipped and staffed than proper government hospital I'm sure the ambulance can deliver patient to the closest even private hospital as that's the law but for a foreigner? -
Your experience with medical emergency number in thialand
digbeth replied to villageidiotY2K's topic in Health and Medicine
I don't seem to see local government hospital having large fleet of ambulance, so calling the local hospital might not be a good idea, whereas 1669 can also dispatch the emergency rescue services (foundations) as well, plus I'd hope that the 1669 call center might be better manned than the hospital's front desk I've seem to read somewhere that 1669 call centre are volunteer from the mobile phone operators, so they might be able to communicate in English -
it can be blank, usually there must be destination to move the person to move to, easiest is that they move themselves to the new place and the amphur only need to update the original book to state that the moved out, house no longer has house master but it can also be done from your side, stating that the actual owner kicked them out, providing the destination housebook to have them moved to, or in extreme case move them to central registry eg. declaring them essentially homeless which will be great inconvenience for the person as they won't be able to get lots of things done until they're moved in to somewhere proper

Bangkok Bank ATM use/tutorial ?
digbeth replied to khlongtoey's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
you can transfer between each account, on the ATM will only be possible from the account with the card, using destination account number if you've successfully added both accounts to your online login you can use the website/phone app to transfer between each other -
I hope they base the depreciation off the initial value and not market price at time of replacement

Took the missus to see the Volvo EX30 in emsphere shopping mall, Zeekr X happens to be across the isle, the sales guys not very attentive, understandably it's not for sale yet and no information on price available, even at substantial discount over the equivalent volvo model and more premium materials it's a hard sell on the name alone

I thought with the new rules, the newer policy without comprehensive cover on the battery would be offered for less premiums, and the full comprehensive cover would still be available, but looks like many insurers are steering people towards the new style policy with gradual decrease in battery coverage for the age

citi bank, up until a few years ago used to be good for service, you get semi-private banking from as low of a deposit as 1 million, some even manage to get in for 100,000 baht, snag is only a few branch but the one in Asok is usually good and not crowded, you have to have much more deposit to get similar service with Bangkok Bank where you get to conduct your business at the Manager's office or the customer service desk rather than mixing in the queue

if you have multiple Citi now UOB cards, you'll be in for another pain, when you pay your credit card bills, they'll distribute the amount to each cards according to their convoluted logic that lead to one card being overpaid and interest accruing on the other Since May where the takeover went full-swing lots of citi customers are ringing them non-stop, only way to correctly pay is via the branch or the app, which is only available to those that can open an account with them

PEA not giving out separate TOU meters for EV owners now?
digbeth replied to digbeth's topic in The Electrical Forum
That would explain why so many were simply refused like facing a brick wall after being refused the 2nd meter, they weren't even offered to switch over the whole house to TOU at all, but the physical meter shortage often heard might also explain this -
A lot of report in Thai EV groups is that they're no longer giving out TOU meters as a separate 2nd meter for EV charging only which was previously available to PEA areas whereas for MEA, you'd have to switch the whole house to TOU tariff if you want 2nd meter to be TOU for charging your cars I didn't think many would bother setting up transfer switch to sneak tou off peak rate on the main house while switching back to the normal non-tou meter during the peak hours, well not enough to be a problem but here we are

short mackerel and it's only available in these parts of the world

even for social security (Thai with jobs) the dental cover is limited, approved treatments are: cleaning, tooth filling, tooth extraction, and wisdom tooth extraction/surgery and limited to 900.-baht per year I'd think for the universal /30 baht scheme it'd be a lot less

1st class is a class of insurance, for usually everything, first party (your own) damage, second party (the other car), third party injuries, fire and theft) some might have a conditions that there is an 'excess' payable (usually few thousands baht) to claim in case of faults, no other party, ie hit a wall) but if you rent from a shop, not an actual car rental company, the insurance might not cover rental use, so in an accident they'll ask that you 'borrowed' the car from a friend or never mention that you rented the car

"Haircutting, hairdressing or beauty treatment" is there on the list -
you don't have to own property to be added onto the property's blue or yellow book, just need sympathetic owner/housemaster that are willing to jump through red tape to get you put on one
