They got me! Youtube finally annoyed me enough to pay for Premium.
digbeth replied to Jingthing's topic in Entertainment
youtube family is priced at 469 baht for five people.... if enough cheap charlies can get together and pool in 93 baht each you'll save a whole bottle of beer a month -
It only seem like a step up from the advance passenger information system the airlines already send when booking and checking in - people with multiple passports has reported being met with raised eyebrow and questions at arrival immigration counter when switching passports in the air now - so the system is ready - it's a matter of the 'custome facing' e-visa site that might need to be worked on

Thai Tesla groups are quite vocal against this partnership - in pattaya the super charger is on the top floor of the beach road mall - useless for anyone travelling long distance that needed the quick charge to drive on - you'd spend half an hour to get through traffic from the hightway, another 20 minutes to meander your way up the carpark there's only a few tesla supercharger with convenient roadside access - Central mall had hoped to attract tesla drivers to their mall by trying to be exclusive with the deal but 20-30minutes fast charge aren't really compatible with mall using behavior
-
not yet and nothing said about allowing third party cars to access the supercharging network which isn't too bad tesla superchargers in Thailand are inconveniently placed in malls instead of on the road side - and since it chages too fast - no body in malls use them as you have to hang around the charger to move your cars in 20-30 minutes otherwise you get the idle penalty for hogging the space - so if you want to grab a bit or actually do shoping in malls it's always better to use the AC charger and take your time

Thai Govt Officials Gear Up for F1 Race Discussions
digbeth replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Buritam's hospitality industry isn't up to F1 expectation and for it to be worthwhile economically and looks like F1 will only look for street race- either sea side or thgough something spectacular like grand palace either way the endless consultant paid to to feasibility study on this will have their payday whether or not the race went through -

yeah, people in that area were bracing for the flood - the whole area got built as a moo-baan development in the 70s and uses groundswater that result in subsistence - leading to big flood in 83-84 that lasted months, the memories lasts a long time this is on ramkamhaeng main road - the flood was so bad boat service pops up this picture is where KFC is now - next to Foodland which is there still the 2011 floods didn't reach as far into Bangkok then

Simplest way to connect 3 monitors to Desktop? Best suggestions?
digbeth replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
your option for third monitor are limited to usb-c monitor or an adaptor that will take usb c to HDMI to work with the monitor why do you have such motherboard without intending to plug graphics card in? cheap graphic cards, older gen would work if you don't game, -
orange line underground in front won't be operational until 2027 at least, the stations and tunnel are completed, the worst of traffic distuption is over, just no trains till the rest of the line is built and even then traffic is bad in the back is the airport rail link, a bit harder to get to, also easy access to the expressway and motorway to the airport there are 2 big university, the Ramkamhaeng open university, usually full of working class students and from the south, often muslim so plenty of mulim workers and food in the area, the other is private Assumption University (ABAC) ususally rich kids so easy to rent out during big concerts at the stadium the traffic will be unbearable ther used to be smaller 'the mall' shopping malls around the area but they demolished most of it waiting to be rebuilt after the trains start running maybe, at the moment there's a small 'the mall' on the opposite side of the road, now there's only supermarket department running, there's the big 'the mall' shopping center that's recently renovated on Bang Kapi the next big road away oh, the are around there is a low lying basin - essentially lowest area of Bangkok that's prone to flooding, there has been big flooding in the 80s

The Thai China FTA that has allowed 0% tariff on EV was enacted in 2018, talks and drafting were probably much earlier, Western EVs in 2016-17 was quite established at that point -Tesla model S, Chevy Bolt, VW Golf and Hyundai Ionic - in hindsight the VW e-Golf and many ICE-platformed cars that has 'EV trim' from Europe didn't fare well long term or developed into solid choice Only Hyundai seem to offer it for sale officially in Thailand then, and that was years after even when the first Chinese EV that came to Thailand the MG ZS EV came and didn't ripple the market too much Even the traditional Western brands that manufactures their EVs from China for sale in Thailand didn't quite know what to do with pricing their Chinese EVs look at the price of various models of BMW iX3 that they try not to cannibalise the ICE-engine sales and even the Volvo XC40 were hampered by existing ICE car that has full import tax and 'prestige' pricing still

from your other device, does the phone shows on the 'find my' app? if you mark that device as lost it's practically useless for anyone better to get new sim card issued first, which will makes it easier to set up the banking apps if you kept the old number - no need to worry about banking app yet as anyone would have to geuss the pass corde, biometric to get into the phone then bank apps - hopefully you've chosen the phone pin and banking app pin to not be the same

Thai Govt Proposes Salt & Fat Tax to Boost Public Health

For those that cries why not sugar? they sort of already has -higher sugar drinks are taxed more, hence a few years back you'll see many drinks change their formula to include artificial sweeteners in the mix -
if they had use one of their mate's membership card, it'd show in the receipt which you can check I've seen the barcode taped to the register - it's for when the customers don't have membership or temporary visitor card - they even have multiple ones for the category of customer- individuals, restaurauteuer or shops I think so it's probably for their own record keeping all this is dependant on being able to read what's printed in the card taped there and on your receipt, in thai of course

Backlash as Popular Sandwich Chain Cancels Franchise Locations
digbeth replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
the new subway master franchise has connections with PT petrol station, the existing franchise that was closed first were the one in PTT petrol stations, so looks like the new owners wants exclusivity for petrol stations from the existing franchise's point of view, their previous contracts remain valid so they stay open - maybe they got cut off from certain ingredients it's gonna be a big mess to sort out legally for sure the existing locations that are now considered-fakes did nothing wrong - they have lease to go and employee they can't suddenly afford to pay severance, the previous master franchiser has breached their contract in being unable to supply ingredients or secure exclusive rights to the brand -

Backlash as Popular Sandwich Chain Cancels Franchise Locations
digbeth replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Minor Group or whatever they were called in the 80s had the franchise of Pizza Hut back then though and once they lost that franchise they rebranded all their location to 'Pizza Company' It'd be pedantic to not call that a 'change' what was a Pizza hut before in the same location is now Pizza Company
