  1. Always had Panasonic in our house, works well form when they were previously known as 'National' but in our later build condos, we had Btcino, after about 15 years, the plastic crisp up and break, resulting in sparks and shorts at the switches, had to replace the whole condos worth of switches and sockets to Panasonic now
  2. but this model is essentially an MG, even MG dealers has trouble getting parts from china to repair their own MGs in reasonable time, wonder how much of GM's supply chain is left, maybe the old dealers just got dumped the stock in spare parts, won't be much help for this Captiva model though
  3. what's more inconvenient? being turned down for the vaccine making you have to go back and get your passport /IDand get the vaccine later or carry your passport
  4. my condo had issues with those who had extended their balconies onto what's supposed to be common area (one of those L shaped setbacks where on some floors certain rooms could ended up with more balconies than others) in my building, this area is not part of the adjacent room's balcony and not on the chanote, so it's definitely common area one guy even built a shed/patio onto the area, after much legal battle, we are at a truce that he can't build on the area, but since his room is the room that can access the area, he must allow access to the area by maintenance but only by prior notice.
  5. you sure it's 3 phase and not 30 amp meter? very unusual to get 3-phase just for oven/hob, normally people get 3 phase for big BTUs air conditioner
  6. if it's too cheap, it's probably volume license key issued to organizations that's not supposed to be resold, technically they could be pulled and you're left with no license down the line retail box from legit retailer on lazada/shopee or their own website can be had for cheaper than direct downloads from microsoft
  7. Paragon's worth going only when they show IMAX on film, which of late has only been Nolan's films, and even then the film projector breaks down all the time, the projector's about 30 years old now and has moved from Thailand's first IMAX in Major ratchayothin back then Too bad there aren't any IMAX laser projector in all of Thailand, the rest are all 2K digital only Unless there are specific presentation in IMAX taller ratio, SF's bigger 4k 'Zigma' screen is better value for money
  8. 50/20 is plenty enough for IPTV and netflix, I only have that in my condo as well, AIS has IPtv box with their 50/20 service too, some international channels they used to have HBO but i think 3BB has that now, you have to get HBO via an app, if you have AIS's IPTv you also get Disney+ After having only 50/20 I also got 5g router, speed works out around 200-300mbps in actual use, costs arount 1000 baht a month, router costs 3000-8000 if on contract for 12 months, big program like games and updates downloads are fast, but you can't bittorrent unlike the 50/20 ADSL until the ISP decides to pay to upgrade your condo to Fiber to the room, you're stuck with 50/20, but 5g is a possible option
  9. Some restaurant that used to have free water from a jug now charges for bottled water now
  10. try being pegged, prostate massage works wonder, won't be hard to find willing participants in Pattaya or Bangkok to your liking
  11. you can't update the home branch, you have to open a new account in Pattaya, you can keep the old account if you want, but transferring or withdrawing money outside certain zones using ATM or the teller in branch incur some fee, it's free if you have online access though Bangkok bank is particularly anal about certain thing that must be done at the original branch, like getting a new book etc. so it's easier to find a friendly branch in Pattaya that would let you open new account without too much hassle
  12. And you know what, the Thais probably come in without getting any visas, or having to do the 90 day reporting either, the double standard!
  13. News from other source indicate that the wrong engine/chassis number is mistyped from H to I, how many of you actually check if the VIN on your insurance policy matches your car, whose fault is it? the company can claim that they gave a grace period to check everything was in order when you first purchase the insurance and had the paper delivered to be fair, if you are driving a Ferrari you can probably afford to not cheap out on insurance, but to be fair, when the annual premiums are 300,000 baht, the savings could be 10-20,000 to go with third rate company like this instead of the big name ones. looks like the insurance company look over to find any reason not to pay out and they found just what they need
  14. when you're parking, you can see if you're lined up, some only offer top down view, some you can rotate a virtual car to see any angle when pulling out of blind corner with tall wall, some let you see left and right from the front bumper where position from the windscreen would be blocked
  15. could elite keep a better track of their client's entry stamp/extension and report status? sure if they have an exact record, they can try to contact the person harder as the matter becoming more urgent
  16. The only real problem is that 10 digit collides perfectly with phone numbers, which through the promptpay can be linked with accounts to receive money as well, this is only a problem when transferring through Thailand domestically either via online app/website or at ATMs granted, you'd have to select not only the wrong bank before entering the account/phone number but also the mode of transfer (bank account n# or promptpay) but the issue do pop up from time to time with accounts number that do look like phone numbers
  17. they can explain it to him but they can't understand it for him
  18. they only have to collect premium months in advance if you want to pay in installments, if you pay up front the whole amount you can pay 1 day before the insurance lapse. My wife crashed into a motorcycle last year (her fault, but the bloody bike had no lights on) their rep came and help sort things out at the cop shop satisfactory, including hospital visit to the injured rider plus many negotiation. but these rep that come to surveys are subcontractor whose service is available to more than one brand of insurance. at least Roojai or Krungthai, the actual insurer subcontract to a pretty decent outfit. Only more expensive insurer like Viriya has their own office and staff in almost every province. Now that we had a claim, next year's premium no longer has any no claim discount, if we were to switch we could have cheaper insurance, but the convenience of staying with them is not worth the hassle shopping around and dealing with new agents. I was skeptical with Roojai at first, the actual insurer Krungthai is middle tier at best and is not known for service unlike the top brands like Viriya, Southeast or Bangkok Insurance, and being essentially agent for only 1 insurance company they don't offer multiple insurance to choose from unlike other agents, but their ease of dealing was good enough
  19. it may not have been another loan secured against the car, she could have had debt from other loans like cash advance cards or credit cards, if that had went through the court and they got a judgement, then they could seize anything in her name, including cars and bikes
  20. If you can't read Thai I can see this happening, when a mortgage is recorded on the deed, the buyer name is on it, also the lender of the mortgage is on it in the next column, typically in an actual legit business, the bank/lender would hold on to the chanote, but in this case by the time anyone notice anything the developer would have been long gone with the money, who cares if the buyer is left holding the chanote. so seeing your name in Thai recorded in the back is no guarantee, even fake deed is known to happen too
  21. The well known MuX rear air conditioner condensing within the liners causing damp lining seem to be a problem still, factory issued fix at the dealer is to block the air intake that cause humid air to enter. strange that previous generations Mu x never had this problem
  22. In my condo in central Bangkok (Asoke/Sukhumvit) I got a 5g router from AIS because the condo internet is only ADSL speed 50/20 due to aging copper cable, I got speed of around 250-300 mbps, downloading big thing like big game is pretty quick. Streaming - not much difference over slower connections, and the monthly cost of around 1000+ a month for unlimited data plus around 8000 baht for the router (new ones are going for around 3000 baht now) is not worth it unless you really need the speed and can't have it any other way (fiber to the room/home is cheaper and faster if you can get it) and I doubt anything on phones from streaming movies and music is gonna need anything that fast
  23. hospital rights and estate should one partner die is the real sticking point here, imagine your partner got into an accident and you can't decide his/her fate to authorize medical procedure at the hospital because you can't get 'married' only their maybe estranged actual relative who was never in your life can. same with estate in case of death, all you've built up together gone to his/her parent and sibling only because you aren't married
  24. Selling point of drum front and rear is that typical Thais would only use the rear brakes for fear of going over the handle bar, and once the rear brake pads has worn down, the unused drum in front front is straight swap over the rear, and the bike is good until that's worn out hence why non-front disc remained for so long
  25. Australian white goods, fridge, washing machine are probably made in Thailand
