blue is over 11 seater 'bus' thus cheaper 'commercial/working' vehicles, do note, you can get in trouble if you remove seats from your van and were caught by some checkpoints, as it used to be a way of circumventing tax by registering certain vehicles with lots of seats to qualify for lower tax, then remove them later. Same for the Hilux, if you had a 4 door model, that is 'up to 7 seats' sedan class, but had you gone for the 2 door models, you'd have a green letter plate and also cheaper 'van/cargo' tax rate Or if you had canopy in the back of the Hilux and row of seats put in, it can then be registered for the blue plate too, it used to be that a canopy and seats were 'borrowed' to pass inspection and remove later

digbeth replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
when they didn't ask you to show the money, they can still claim lack of evidence... what're you gonna do? take them to court? report them to their superiors? -
yes, sorry swapped the two, m pass works on easy pass gates, if you only sign up for m flow, you can't use the expressways easy pass m flow (the barrier less ones) are only in used on the hwy 9 at the moment, hwy 7 is probably next some expressway toll gates looks to have m flow installed but who knows when that'll be ready as it currently is m flow is not replacement for m-pass tag, you need easy pass too

the way the thai report reads it sounds like he didn't hit the car with his bike but rather got out and slammed on the car with his hands? to many thais, you can drive dangerously and cut of any guy and cut him back, slam on the brakes but the moment the horn is sounded, that's the cue to open car doors and devolve into angry finger pointing and fisticuff

Shipping a Smart Phone from US to Thailand
digbeth replied to WaveHunter's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Custom would want to see Thai FCC (NBTC) approval sticker or sign on the product, might not be there on the US model, you'll then be asked for import license for the device in question, while paying storage which your shipping agent will happily charge you, if the device does not operate on bands outside of the allowed range for Thailand, you might be issued a license and your device released to you, or if not it's confiscated and sold off in auctions as 'scraps' years later -

Compulsory Portion Inheritance in Thailand. Yes or No.
digbeth replied to swissie's topic in General Topics
Thailand has 6 levels compulsory heirs called 'legitimate heir' from order of priority 1 child and Spouse 2 parents 3 siblings 4 half siblings 5 grand parents 6 uncle, aunts, the next level don't get their share until the above level has their share, so your sibling don't get your estate unless you don't have a surviving parent or child/spouse even if you put the grandchild in the will, the other in the legitimate heirs list can contest the will in court, eg, if you put the grandchild as the only receiver, the other relatives could contest this in court
