  1. Well they do sell Indian Basmati rice in stores here.......although there are plenty of Indian folk here, so perhaps there is a demand, but as you say, for Cambodian rice.......probably not!
  2. Getting back on track gentlemen, I have also thought that the Thai rice, hom mali, has been lacking something of late, and even went over to buying Basmati rice, however I would like to try this Cambodian rice, so has anyone seen it in the likes of Big C or similar??
  3. Same here with Apocalypse Now, Law Abiding Citizen, Tombstone, Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid, Castaway, The Enigma Machine, Young Guns, The Bourne Trilogy, Shooter, V for Vendetta, The Big Short, Live by Night..........to name but a few................!! PS. Forgot to mention, Bottle Shock and Jeremiah Johnson!
  4. Reminds me of an old saying I would use occasionally when someone was particularly dumb: – "here's a newsflash; last night a swarm of brain eating beetles that got into the head of xyz whilst he was sleeping, were this morning found on his pillow, dead from starvation".
  5. Well hopefully that's not your fate BigStar........!!
  6. I downloaded and watched, "Lawrence of Arabia" last night and was so pleased that I did........it was a movie, directed by David Lean which came out in the sixties, and I believe I saw it around that time but don't remember much about it!!! In the subsequent years I've read a little bit about TE Lawrence and he was certainly a "different" character and whether or not that planted a seed in my mind when I was watching the film last night, is difficult to say, however I certainly detected some aspects of that in the movie, and I believe it was intentionally done by David Lean. Early on in the movie there were a couple of scenes whereby Lawrence was portrayed as being slightly effeminate, and later on the man himself said that he was "different" and "not like other men" and of course he had a young boy as a companion for a while. I think this was purposely done by David Lean and this was more so when Lawrence was captured by the Turks and subjected to a beating (certainly) and quite possibly sodomy, both of which awoke some sort of sadomasochistic feelings in Lawrence, that he quite possibly hated in himself. Anyway I downloaded the digitally remastered version by Yify, on 1337x.to and it was brilliant in both the quality and the movie itself.
  7. Oh, mate, I am so sorry to hear this as I had no idea that you had this bladder leakage problem. So what was the last procedure you had done TP?? As the thread is about the Rezum treatment/procedure, I suppose we had better get back on that track shortly. ATB.
  8. Well things don't seem to have changed much.......but that could also include the likes of the US, Australia and NZ!!
  9. Well Simon, you're a braver man than me (Gunga din!). Although having said that, if I were to have a prostate removal, I would certainly opt for the Da Vinci robotic surgery machine as it is supposed to be the ultimate in "nerve sparing" surgery, which should mean that erectile dysfunction and incontinence are a thing of the past, however that all depends upon how widespread the cancer is and how good the operator is! https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-01037-w
  10. Well then you are obviously well acquainted with this Dr/urologist, and yes he is good, however as it happens TP, he couldn't do anything for me as regards getting the bladder to start working again, because the nerves don't seem to be functioning inside it, and these are required to operate to get the whole system to work in unison. I have no feeling that my bladder is full or a need to pass water, apart from a "full" feeling somewhere in my lower stomach when it needs emptying, so it's left up to me to decide when and if I pay a visit to a toilet, which is why I take great satisfaction in being able to use a catheter at night before I go to bed, because I know I'm going to get a good nights sleep with an empty bladder! I would dearly love to get the whole lot working again, and was investigating something akin to a little pacemaker (InterStim) which is fitted under the skin and connected by thin wires to the nerves which can stimulate them to get the bladder to empty, however this does involve surgery, and my local urologist here despite seeming keen to try that at one time, is now not so keen at all for some reason? So buddy, I'm in limbo land at the moment and although I did look at rezum and others, it's not the prostate which is playing up, otherwise I would have it done. I hope your situation is improving since we last made contact – – all the very best you TP.
  11. Not sure if this will be of use, but "Brachytherapy" has been used to good effect in the prostate. ATB.
  12. Watched a very good movie on BBC iPlayer called, "The Keeper" and it is about the Manchester City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann who was an ex-POW and I won't go into the story, because it will spoil it for you, but for football fanatics especially, it's a treat, and for those that aren't, it's still a heartwarming story – – and most of all, the best thing about it is that it's true.
  13. I forgot to mention that adjacent to the Indian restaurant being built, is a beauty/spa salon, called "So Relax", which I have walked past quite a few times and never really noticed it!!!! And as my big toe was hurting, I popped in to see if they would have a look at it to see what they could do. They quite rightly diagnosed an ingrowing toenail and said they would give me a pedicure and fix it at the same time. So I took them up on the offer, and sure enough it was an ingrowing toenail, BUT what surprised me about this place was how immaculately kitted out it was, scrupulously clean, new equipment and well attired women, so I can highly recommend it should anyone need the services of a place like this, which seems to cater for just about all beauty and relaxation needs.......and no I don't have a financial interest in the place, just think that some places deserve a little promotion in these difficult times.
  14. @Patong2 makes a good point with regards to drinking and driving, because it's something I haven't done here, preferring to take a motorbike taxi in the main, or occasionally a tuk tuk if it's raining, and despite warning a friend of mine who regularly drives home after a few drinks, he still does it!!! Was out on Friday evening and have made the Blue Beach Café and Restaurant a regular meeting place because it fits the bill as both a bar and a restaurant and it's a good place to catch up with friends to start the evening, and enjoy a nice meal and a few glasses of wine before setting off to Bangla. Bangla was very crowded and I have to backtrack on my comment in the previous post regarding the popularity of the lady boys show in Soi Freedom, because on Friday there were quite a few people viewing it, so it hasn't died a death yet. On that subject I would think that any poor person who took up the invitation to accompany a gargantuan lady boy (think Dwayne Johnson in a tightfitting dress) who was parading around Bangla looking for business might well die a death in his/her company! Moving away from the usual content, because as I said Bangla was crowded as were many of the bars, but what has struck me about Patong in general is that there are a number of new restaurants opening up, and in particular Indian restaurants – – noticed a new one in Soi Sainamyen the other day, and a new one being built just up from that on Rat-u-Thit, as well as others I haven't previously noticed a bit further down that road. I did mention the Russians in another post and apart from having met a couple, and viewed quite a few others whom I thought might be Russians, a long-term friend of mine here who has some Russian contacts on Phuket has told me that many of them are moving back and buying up houses in the Laguna area, sometimes many at a time with large amounts of cash – – perhaps getting their money out of Russia whilst they can?? Parts of Patong flooded a few days ago (again) and I decided to have a look at the major road/waterworks which were being undertaken at the southern end of what was known as "middle road", to see how that was coming along and after two years it looks as if they might be nearing the end of it – – again. Fingers crossed. So Patong looks like it's returning to some sort of normality, although when I drive around and look at the derelict and semiderelict buildings here, I wonder if the place will ever reach the dizzy heights of the past!
  15. A favourite movie of mine!
  16. He knows too much....got to keep him sweet!
  17. For your perusal ........https://ada.com/editorial/uti-or-sti-how-to-spot-the-difference/
  18. Did they use the Da Vinci robotic machine to remove your prostate??
  19. Sorry about that Max.....been having a few computer problems!!!!!!! And as far as I know a Will like this will be acceptable in the UK, and the main thing is to have all the witnesses and signatures correct on the document. I did a Will for an old friend of mine here who was close to death and hadn't done anything about this, and this was before I had found this current version. However I did find one online and complete it for him and as far as I can recall it was much the same as the one I sent you – – having said that, you can find an online Will (free) in the UK which, although basic, will suffice.
  20. One recommended by Sheryl TP......Dr Charuspong. Excellent urologist, speaks good English and great/caring manner.
  21. I understand that, having presented at several international forums, however this cheat sheet was almost telling him how to walk (exaggeration I know) but I'm sure you get my point. Also the text was such that on the cheat sheet, it was stated thus, "YOU......will be sitting next to; then again, YOU....will be..... So his aides were seemingly treating him like an old codger, which unfortunately he is, and my point is that two years henceforth he'll be making even more gaffes than he does now. So hopefully new blood will be injected (not literally in his case) and will be able to take on anything that the GOP can throw at the Dems.
  22. Not long after posting this and getting some good replies, I went online to look at my daily newspaper and to my shock and horror I saw an article with regards to Joe Biden at the COP27, and his "cheat sheet" was visible, and there were instructions on it as to where to sit, who to sit next to and so on, almost a roadmap spelled-out for the guy. IMO it backs up what I said in my post, and something has got to be done because two years henceforth, poor old Joe will probably be in a home somewhere, staring into space and dribbling, and certainly not fit to lead the USA again. Sad to say.
  23. Good luck Simon.
  24. Unfortunately I too suffer from constipation and have done for years, decades even, and despite eating more fibre and everything else of that ilk, it still has no effect on me. So I decided to go for a colonoscopy just to make sure everything was okay up there, and it was, and when I took all of the bran/fibre/psyllium husk/senecot/Bisacodyl/etc preparations along, to show what didn't work (that included magnesium and others) the specialist prescribed a tablet called Resolor! Now that does work on occasion, but as someone else has mentioned prune juice, and especially the "Sunsweet" stuff, does work, and if you add a little liquid sorbitol (can buy it on the Lazada very cheaply) to it, the results are pretty quick and emptying! It was determined a long time ago that I have a slow digestive system, so unfortunately I'm going to be prone to this sort of thing, and so every so often I have a prune juice clear out!!!! Back onto a colonoscopy, and I had one about three years ago here in Phuket Bangkok Hospital and it cost about 20,000 baht. Good luck.
