As for the US economy under trump (given that he hasn't got a clue)........... “If Donald Trump did half of what he’s promising, the results for the US economy would be chaotic and negative,” says Jason Furman, a former White House economist in the Obama administration, who is now a Harvard professor. “The biggest thing we have on our side against China is we’re part of a bloc of countries that get along pretty well. Putting tariffs on all of those countries would rip that apart.” “Sixteen Nobel laureates have described his economic plan as something that would increase inflation and, by the middle of next year, would invite a recession,” Harris said in the debate. Oh but they are, and very much so, although they probably fit very nicely into the category of "trumps favourite" people" as well, so one has a "double whammy" to contend with.

You have probably realised by now that trying to post facts to this poster is impossible, that is why I have put him on ignore.

OK thanks George. Xylo

On occasion I get a warning from the Malwarebytes anti virus/anti-malware program I have installed on my computer and it says the following: – Malware blocked: Site URL: aseannow.com malware URL:www.primewire.tf So my question is, is it dangerous and can I do anything about it? Thank you.

Now this might come as one hell of a surprise to you mate......you don't have to read my posts!!!!!! LOL But then being one of trump's "favourite people", not surprising!

Quote.....Pls be honest, read this: https://www.politifact.com/article/2024/mar/04/Biden-Trump-economy-who-did-better/ If only it were that simple, but one has to remember that staunch trump supporters like this one cannot "see" anything which is counter to their beliefs that trump is an honest, hard-working and intelligent, non-lying human being – – even if the proof is before their eyes or even that they hear it with their own ears. I'm afraid you're wasting your time with these trumpies.

Hey mate, you seem to have a lot of mates on ASEANNOW, so why don't you just cancel your account anyway mate, because I doubt that you've got any real mates on here mate. In addition mate, your posts indicate anger and hate, mate, so why not cool down a bit mate and try to understand that it is only a forum with faceless and nameless people mate, and your views apart from being similar to the rantings of trumps "favourite people" mate, really don't hold any store, so try and reconnect with reality mate and grab yourself a couple of tinnies to pass the time of day mate. This advice from someone who is definitely not your "mate".

Teamsters’ Neutral Stance: A Blow to Harris and a Challenge for Trump
xylophone replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not yet up to trump's level....try the "Childcare" idiotic respnse by him. He's addled and cooked! -
Thanks for that link Steven55, it is absolutely mind blowing that trumpies on here will believe anything this moronic liar says. He has proven time and time again that he is out of sync with reality and speaks whatever comes into his tiny mind, and most of the time this is unadulterated rubbish and complete and utter lies. The only question should be, "how far down the senile dementia path is he?" Because he is not really fit to lead the US in his current state, let alone the one that he is heading towards.

Teamsters’ Neutral Stance: A Blow to Harris and a Challenge for Trump
xylophone replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Well that doesn't say much for the "poorly educated" supporters of the convicted felon. Read and weep........ Asked if he would “commit to prioritizing legislation to make child care affordable” and “what specific piece of legislation” he would support during a Q&A session at the Economic Club of New York Thursday, Trump said:……. “Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down. You know, I was somebody — we had, Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka, was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. "But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about — that, because look, child care is child care, couldn’t — you know, there’s something — you have to have it in this country. You have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers, compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to. But they’ll get used to it very quickly. And it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us. But they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we’re talking about, including child care, that it’s going to take care. We’re going to have — I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country. "Because I have to stay with child care. I want to stay with child care. But those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I’m talking about, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just — that I just told you about. We’re going to be taking in trillions of dollars. And as much as child care is talked about as being expensive, it’s, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers will be taking in. "We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people. And then we’ll worry about the rest of the world. Let’s help other people. But we’re going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It’s about make America great again. We have to do it because right now, we’re a failing nation. So we’ll take care of it. Thank you. Very good question. Thank you.” “Somewhere in that incoherent word salad was a claim that the proposed tariffs could both balance the budget and pay for free child care across the country, which is of course mathematically absurd,” said Brian Riedl, an economic policy expert with the conservative Manhattan Institute and a former policy adviser to prominent Republicans. “Trump sounded like the student who hadn’t studied for the test and was making up numbers.” In short the orange man is duimb -
Teamsters’ Neutral Stance: A Blow to Harris and a Challenge for Trump
xylophone replied to Social Media's topic in World News
But........As I already posted a short while ago:- Local unions within the International Brotherhood of Teamsters are putting their support behind Vice President Harris in November, despite the wider union’s decision to withhold a presidential endorsement this year. “Michigan Teamsters President Kevin Moore and the Executive Board on behalf of 245,000 active and retired Teamsters enthusiastically endorse the Harris-Walz campaign,” Kevin D. Moore, president of the Michigan Teamsters Joint Council No. 43, said Wednesday in a document posted to Facebook. “We strongly support their continued commitment to the issues that matter most to working families and our nation’s middle class,” Moore continued. “Both Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have consistently demonstrated their dedication to championing the labor movement, safeguarding social security, and ensuring access to quality healthcare for all Americans, including women’s reproductive rights.” -
Ah Johnny, don't forget who you are dealing with on the forum, because the "diehard trumpies" don't want to know/see/recognise anything which is contrary to their cult belief, so they refuse to believe it even when the words come out of their cult leader's mouth – – it is called cognitive dissonance, as if you didn't already know, and for others, this is an explanation of it: – There are four theoretic paradigms of cognitive dissonance, the mental stress people experienced when exposed to information that is inconsistent with their beliefs, ideals or values: Belief Disconfirmation, Induced Compliance, Free Choice, and Effort Justification, which respectively explain what happens after a person acts inconsistently, relative to their intellectual perspectives; what happens after a person makes decisions and what are the effects upon a person who has expended much effort to achieve a goal. Common to each paradigm of cognitive-dissonance theory is the tenet: People invested in a given perspective shall—when confronted with contrary evidence—expend great effort to justify retaining the challenged perspective. So you have absolutely no hope of being able to get these folk to see what is actually happening in the world, because they refuse to believe it, simple as that (however full marks for trying!).

You make some good points in your post and I would like to add something, even if it is going off on a tangent very slightly, because someone who has dementia/lost the plot/has senile decay is highly likely to be swayed by strong people in his immediate circle who have their own viewpoints to push. For example: –Former independent presidential candidate and antivaccine advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that former President Trump wants him to choose leaders for key public health agencies if he wins the election in November…Kennedy and Trump previously talked about conspiracy theories related to the toxicity of childhood vaccines in a video posted to social media earlier this year!! https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4887585-rfk-jr-trump-fda-nih-cdc/ So it could be possible that the anti-vax and conspiracy theorist Robert F Kennedy is in charge of a key public health agency. That would be an absolute joke and would be damaging to the health system in the USA. In addition: –The presence of hard-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer alongside Donald Trump on the campaign trail in recent days has raised questions, including from some Republicans, about the influence the controversial former congressional candidate may have on him. Ms Loomer is well-known for her anti-Muslim rhetoric and for spreading conspiracy theories, including that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job" carried out by the US government. So a Kennedy nut job and antivax and conspiracy theorist, along with hard right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, who thinks the 9/11 attacks were carried out by the US government, could hold sway on government policies. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
xylophone replied to diceman's topic in Political Soapbox
That should be warning enough for all to see, but not for those "who will not see". -
More endorsements for Kamala Harris, esp in swing states....... A wave of local and regional Teamsters union branches in battleground states rushed to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris after the national Teamsters union declared it would not endorse a presidential candidate for the first time in nearly three decades. Separately, powerful local Teamsters unions in Philadelphia; New York City; Long Beach, California; and Miami – as well as the union’s National Black Caucus and a group of retirees – have endorsed Harris and urged members to vote for her.

Poor soul, what you don't seem to realise is the links you have put up here mainly relate to what your "interpretation" of trump and his policies are/will look like. So in that case better you go back and have your cup of Kool-Aid just to keep the neurons misfiring and the fantasies alive. Or you could throw another koala on the barbie, mate, and invite some of your mates to bring round a couple of goon bags of Château Chunder to celebrate your fantastical world.

Yee haw, break out the moonshine Marylou because we've got another one here – – one of the people who are trumps "favourite people" and no doubt soon we will be hearing nonsense about, "Deep State", "big Pharma" and that Trump never lies – yeah right! Time for you to go back down the rabbit hole and whilst you are there, say hello to the dormouse and the Mad Hatter and don't drink too much more Kool-Aid!

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2024)
xylophone replied to Rimmer's topic in Entertainment
I watched part of the movie, "The Savage Peace" and it brought back memories of another doco I'd seen some while ago, and it might have even been this one? I had also watched a doco which challenged the well worn cliché that it was only the Nazis who were killing and torturing the Jews in Germany, and it did this by showing home movies of Jews being attacked in the streets and being dragged out of their homes and beaten by "everyday" Germans! These two along with a particularly gutwrenching doco about what was found in the concentration camps after the British arrived there, really made me understand that man's cruelty to men knows no bounds – – which was partly why I stopped viewing the movie, "The Savage Peace" because this was really about the payback/retribution/revenge for what occurred in the war, and I've had my fill of this. However thank you for bringing it to my attention and I will work my way through the other movies shortly, and by way of mention, I will also look for the movie suggested by you in the PM. Many thanks.
