  1. While I agree with you somewhat, what does an Iranian have to do with Thai people?
  2. Where I live they are selling the 10 ticket packs for 2,500 baht.
  3. Hopefully the boat that swiftly responded did not run over someone. Maybe she was able to swim back to shore. Hope so anyway.
  4. Pita gave it up really fast after winning the election.
  5. The tourist was last heard saying, "I'm not paying guys for lady drinks."
  6. This year, in Ratchaburi, I had a problem with my 800K. For several years now it has been in a fixed account. The only thing I do is deposit 1K on the day I'm going to do my extension so Immigration can see an entry for that day. However this year, for the first time, the IO had a problem with it and did not want to give me my extension. She saw an entry where the bank rolls the money over after a year for another year with a new interest rate. She told me I had gone below the 400K that day and so could not qualify for my extension. It did show an entries that look like a withdrawal and then an immediate redeposit. I kept trying to tell her I had not taken any money out of the account for several years. She kept going on about it for several minutes. But then finally decided to call the bank, SCB. It took them awhile to get her to understand what the entries were. But she finally relented and gave me my extension. I think this year I'm going to exit the country and reenter to both facilitate putting the money into a normal savings account and killing off my O-A requirements for insurance.
  7. I believe Schwab would close your account if you told them your address is in Thailand. Schwab International is very good. But as mentioned you need 25K US dollars or the equivalent in stocks to open an account. With Schwab international you can use your Thai address and thai phone number Also getting money from an ATM or wiring money to a Thai bank is free. You do have to ask to get the ATM card, a separate form to fill out.
  8. I don't know how they say unprovoked attack when she slapped him first.
  9. I know of one relative that was placed in a care home for awhile but they eventually took her back out of it to save money.
  10. Makes you wonder where all the garbage in Bangkok ends up. Anyway the river does look a lot cleaner nowadays compared to say 20 years ago. But I have seen a fleet of ships going up and down the river that skim garbage from it. Hopefully fixing their problem doesn't mean installing a roller blind so no one can see them dumping trash.
  11. If it is hidden how did they find it?
  12. I've seen them cut the fittings on both sides of the pipe and pry the fitting off. Just deep enough to cut the fitting and not the pipe. So they can be removed.
  13. I'm sure there are plenty of foreigners living in Thailand that don't ever use this forum. They most likely have never heard anything about having to pay tax on their overseas income and probably never will.
  14. If they are from China hopefully the motors are included...
  15. I roll coal in my daily pickup... it is only 4 yrs old, no annual inspections until it is 7. I am aware of that exemption but most of these vehicles are already past the 7 year mark.
  16. After smoking they wanted a piece of pai. Mr. Donuts was already sold out.
  17. I've always wondered how all those pickup trucks that bellow black smoke when they accelerate pass the annual smog check.
  18. Looked like the guy running away had something in his hand. Perhaps he stole from the delivery driver without paying.
  19. I'd say 80% are getting paid less than 12,000 baht/month
  20. You left out the inflated hospital costs.
